UnCommons Moneyball gem

857

Someone made the point to me over the weekend, 30 goals, and counting, from midfield, rivals 53 from Henrik Larsson as a central striker.  It is an unnecessary burden to compare Kris Commons to Celtic’s greatest player in four decades, even Henrik couldn’t compare to the memory of Henrik, but the history books will show for decades to come, Kris Commons is a rare gem, a Celtic player for the ages.

He’s the definition of a Moneyball player, he’s a great multiple Player of the Year and he’s ours.

Enjoy watching him.

Issue 20 of CQN Magazine, CQLisboN is out and enjoying great reviews. You can check it out here, for free, now….

I have to be honest and say I have not been following things FFP as much as I used too due to the 5 way agreement. It died then as far as I am concerned.

    What I am interested in is;

Is it only Man C ?

    Why now ?

I reckon it will be negotiated down eventually.

I was at that game at Killie. In fairness to TB his team didn’t really have the players to defend and sit back.

Brendan Rogers has a similar problem. TB was cheated pure and simple. They spent money on players they couldn’t afford. The Cadette signing hold up was a disgrace.

I think it’s 8 homegrown players in the 25 man squad, which could make things difficult if they’re restricted to a squad of 21, I suppose. Your point about an escalation of sanctions for any further rule-breaking is why I think they might appeal, in the hope of getting all charges quashed.

Maybe they’ve been looking at the way UEFA have happily turned a blind eye to other rule-breaking that’s been going on in the past couple of years.

Not thinking of any team in particular, of course!

City haven’t done all that well with 25 players. Can’t see them doing any better with 21.

It’s a start. UEFA need to be applauded for that. It can only benefit clubs like Celtic if these rules are upheld and the punishments keep getting handed out.

I retired through ill health at 50 and I cannot imagine having to work until 65 as my body certainly never mind my mind could not cope with work.I dont find any problem filling my days in fact just like the old saying I wonder how I ever found time to work.Like everything in life it is an attitude of mind if your positive about retirement you will enjoy it however,if you lived to work as many do you may well find it difficult. Congratulations to the new retireers and impending retireers.

After the recent tribute from Brendan Rodgers to his mentor, Tommy Burns, it was interesting that last night, his team emulated Tommy’s weakness as a manager, I.e., snatching a draw from the jaws of a victory.

The amount of drawn games we had on that particular season did more damage than any Goram heartbreaking heroics.

Ain’t that the truth, but an unpopular one.

Qatar and Etihad will have a lot of political leverage around FIFA.

Methinks Platini wants Blatters job after Brazil. That will ensure Qatar’s staging of the WC tournament.

As long as the rules are applied to all who are breaking them. PSG, Real M, and Chelsea must also be in the Man City bracket when it comes to FFP, surely. Given the man who is pushing this, it would be very worthwhile keeping an eye on how PSG are treated.

What no membership scheme? in my opinion this is needed so every penny contributed by fans can be rewarded by discounts(just like awenaw was saying in Germany.as well as including those fans you say will drop off
