Read lots yesterday about the vast majority of people in Scotland missing the ‘Old Firm’ games. Trying hard to inoculate myself against any “bravado” I really don’t see this. The edge we used to feel when going into the final minutes of a game needing a goal is no longer there, but I’m really not sure that edge is healthy or necessary.
More than this, I don’t know a single fan from another Premiership club who regrets the liquidation of Rangers, or feels their life is enhanced by the presence of Celtic. Everyone is aware of the harsh reality – we spoil the league.
We do, of course, sell copy, as did the liquidated lot.

Pretty much hinted that newco liquidation is inevitable I believe.
Though I read elsewhere that the ‘club’ would be immune to any insolvency event this time- shares are in RIFC and essentially the chicken would lay another egg and all would be fine again. All above board eh.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I do miss the games against “them”. The excitement of the build up, don’t particularly enjoy watching the games itself, but the sheer joy of a goal, victory is hard to beat.

I don’t think they’re aiming for liquidation. Administration maybe. Something desperate enough to make the fans accept sale and leaseback though.
Word reaches me Sevco enquired about staying at a North Lanarkshire Hotel (Spa & Golf Resort….), last week.They were asked for cash up front,they never phoned back……

It’s interesting in the South of England – the auld bhoys would like ye-aulde Glasgow derby back – I think this smacks of homesickness and nostalgia – a harking back to a long gone Glasgow, not sunshine and scented flowers you understand but a Town they knew so well.
I’ve got to say although I wasn’t unique in my condemnation, therein lay a sincere, cognitive belief that Scottish Football was better of without them, I think events have proven that to be the case.
As for us – yin & yang – t’was written…
We are a beacon in Scottish Football, yet all might not appreciate it ’cause big fish can be an uncomfortable presence in small ponds.
Still at the moment there is great progress in Scottish Football – for the first time in a generation we’ve had a competent, experienced, Scottish Manager in charge of our National squad.
We;ve seen the resurgence of a Tangerine Dream and a stirring of a Red Revolution.
Let it continue until we can call adieu….

It’s called misdirection…. and we’re playing past masters, sure we’ve caught them out but how long did they get away with it.

You will find a lot of Tims outwith Scotland are in favour of a return of some form of fixture against ‘them’. For those in England and Ireland they are being asked all the time about the fixture by colleagues etc and have almost been conditioned to accept that its return will benefit everyone. Just something I noticed a couple of times through chatting to Celtic fans based elsewhere and a few overheard conversations on flights to Glasgow etc.

I was told by someone who knows the journalist involved in the story.
I have no reason to doubt what he told me. He has nothing to gain from it other than a hard time if it’s not true.
Does anyone know if Sky are televising the Sevconian AGM on a pay-per-view basis ?
I reckon it could be their biggest earner since Tyson-Holyfield a few years back!
