We spoil the league

Illustrating the very high regard the business community and people of Barcelona hold Celtic fans, one of the city’s top restaurants, Cinc Sentis have donated lunch for two towards our annual charity causes.

I am assured by our resident food critic (WDH), Cinc Sentis is a fabulous dining experience.  The auction has just gone live – so get a low bid in early – and ends Sunday.  If you’re heading to Barcelona next week, or anytime thereafter, get your eBay bid in here.

Many thanks to Cinc Sentis and WDH.

Read lots yesterday about the vast majority of people in Scotland missing the ‘Old Firm’ games.  Trying hard to inoculate myself against any “bravado” I really don’t see this.  The edge we used to feel when going into the final minutes of a game needing a goal is no longer there, but I’m really not sure that edge is healthy or necessary.

More than this, I don’t know a single fan from another Premiership club who regrets the liquidation of Rangers, or feels their life is enhanced by the presence of Celtic.  Everyone is aware of the harsh reality – we spoil the league.

We do, of course, sell copy, as did the liquidated lot.

Do we have a game in hand over ICT? I thought we had played the same.

You cannot be serious! ( about T , not English pubs, They are , generally, much better than ours. IMO, of course. Tennents being rubbish, on the other hand, is not an opinion, it IS rubbish 0:-)

Sounds like a plan mate al go for that, win it on st paddys weekend HH

  3. Slabhouy,

I was looking for the option : ” No way, no how, not under any cirumstances, don’t darken our doors, you remind me too much of the last sectarian, racist, supremacist, tax-dodging, verin who previously used that postcode. “

You do realise that if we were taken out the equation Inverness would be running away with the league? 3 pts clear with a game in hand over the chasing pack?!

Maybe they could come with us, wherever we are going?

  5. Did Steinreignsupreme reveal any other details on the supposed story that the Herald are sitting on about Sevco?

  6. traditionalist88 on

Pretty much hinted that newco liquidation is inevitable I believe.

Though I read elsewhere that the ‘club’ would be immune to any insolvency event this time- shares are in RIFC and essentially the chicken would lay another egg and all would be fine again. All above board eh.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

  7. Delaneys Dunky on

My guess is, Sevco staff are being paid in pound coins. Exact fare please!

  8. I do miss the games against “them”. The excitement of the build up, don’t particularly enjoy watching the games itself, but the sheer joy of a goal, victory is hard to beat.

“Did Steinreignsupreme reveal any other details on the supposed story that the Herald are sitting on about Sevco”

I’ve dropped a few hints on the previous pages.

  10. I don’t think they’re aiming for liquidation. Administration maybe. Something desperate enough to make the fans accept sale and leaseback though.

  11. Word reaches me Sevco enquired about staying at a North Lanarkshire Hotel (Spa & Golf Resort….), last week. They were asked for cash up front, they never phoned back……

  12. What’s the weather like in Scotlandshire at the minute?

    It’s fine here.

About to ‘phone Mrs Tally to find out if the hoose in South Ayrshire is still standing.

  13. traditionalist88 on

Something HMRC may be interested in with regard to the Sevco wage bill?

  14. steinreignedsupreme – cheers, I will have a look back and put 2 and 2 together and get Liquidation:-)

  15. tallybhoy-winds have died down,it’s to get colder overnight…….but i stay in EK….

  16. Hi Paul67,

It’s interesting in the South of England – the auld bhoys would like ye-aulde Glasgow derby back – I think this smacks of homesickness and nostalgia – a harking back to a long gone Glasgow, not sunshine and scented flowers you understand but a Town they knew so well.

I’ve got to say although I wasn’t unique in my condemnation, therein lay a sincere, cognitive belief that Scottish Football was better of without them, I think events have proven that to be the case.

    As for us – yin & yang – t’was written…

We are a beacon in Scottish Football, yet all might not appreciate it ’cause big fish can be an uncomfortable presence in small ponds.

Still at the moment there is great progress in Scottish Football – for the first time in a generation we’ve had a competent, experienced, Scottish Manager in charge of our National squad.

We;ve seen the resurgence of a Tangerine Dream and a stirring of a Red Revolution.

Let it continue until we can call adieu….

    The Moon Bhoys @ 12:39,

It concerns me somewhat when we are arguing over Sevco’s status and get waylaid by the plethora of arguments that serve to keep us busy.

It’s called misdirection…. and we’re playing past masters, sure we’ve caught them out but how long did they get away with it.

It’s new game, new balls but same techniques…

This misdirection could put the smile on the other side of our faces IF Rangers are in the Europa League next year.

When they are will we retrospectively asking why they got their License…??

Will we demanding to know what’s in the 5-way agreement…?

    All to little, to late….

If it’s the same Club how come they had to transfer the membership…??

They didn’t get demoted their not the same Club…

Their called “The Rangers” not Rangers anyhooo….

    They are dogs doo-s

Never under-estimate your enemy – interrupt him while his plan comes together.

    Hail Hail

  17. Bada

Just off the ‘phone to Miss Tally.

House still standing, but there’s a howling gale.

She didn’t go to college today – trains from/to(?) Glesga cancelled for most of the day(?).

  18. Big Nan

Interesting quote from the Andy Thomas book on conspiracies, “Only two presidents, Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy, are said not to have belonged to any Masonic order – and both were assassinated”

  19. traditionalist88 on

You will find a lot of Tims outwith Scotland are in favour of a return of some form of fixture against ‘them’. For those in England and Ireland they are being asked all the time about the fixture by colleagues etc and have almost been conditioned to accept that its return will benefit everyone. Just something I noticed a couple of times through chatting to Celtic fans based elsewhere and a few overheard conversations on flights to Glasgow etc.

It has nothing to do with HMRC this time. I think they’ve exhausted all the scams on that front.

  21. tallybhoy-don’t think trains started til about 2pm,Central Station evacuated about 9am due to roof damage, was fierce til around 1pm here.Numerous flood warnings down south now.

“Why do you think the herald are sitting on a story , regards them.”

I was told by someone who knows the journalist involved in the story.

I have no reason to doubt what he told me. He has nothing to gain from it other than a hard time if it’s not true.

  25. Does anyone know if Sky are televising the Sevconian AGM on a pay-per-view basis ?

I reckon it could be their biggest earner since Tyson-Holyfield a few years back!

    Hail Hail

  26. traditionalist88 on

Cool, though just read back – if they’re paying employees in cash HMRC may want to have a look!
