‘WE WON’T GET CAUGHT UP IN THE HYPE,’ INSISTS SKIPPER BROONY

SCOTT BROWN is convinced Celtic will silence Sevco Rangers and rack up their fourth successive victory at Ibrox during Brendan Rodgers’ reign.

The champions enjoyed 2-1 and 5-1 triumphs in Govan last season and followed those results with a 2-0 win in September.

The Hoops aim to continue the run on Sunday, despite the confident noises that are coming from opponents who have won their last six games.

Caretaker boss Graeme Murty has already revealed his players had roared with delight when they were drawn against the holders in next month’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

Skipper Brown, however, believes Celtic will achieve the success that will see them go nine points clear with a game in hand.

He said: “They have managed to talk quite a lot this week. We will just do our usual job.

“In the last three games, we have been excellent at Ibrox, with three wins. The pitch will be good as well so that will help us.

“We will be going there just as confident as we ever would be.

“The pressure is all on them. We managed to do it last season very well, but it’s all about what we do this time out.

“We’ve got to try and do exactly the same.

“You can’t get caught up in it. I’ve been there before, got caught up in the situation and been sent off. You learn from your mistakes.

“We’ve had hard training going into the game and we’re looking forward to it.”

Brown also reflected on his impromptu celebratory strut at Pittodrie last month following a couple of hefty challenges from Aberdeen players that saw Sam Cosgrove earn a straight red card before Shay Logan thumped the ball at the Hoops captain.

He grinned: “I just wanted to find out who kicked the ball at my head.

“Wee Logan did a runner right after it, as he usually does.”
