White shirted fitness freaks arrive at Training Centre

911

Fixtures are out and the management team are in-situ at Bobbylennoxtown; the air of anticipation for a new chapter in a 126-year-old story lies heavy over Celtic supporters.  I wish we were starting tomorrow.

If you are a Celtic player, what would your overbearing sentiment be today?  If it was me, looking at photos of those two white-shirted fitness freaks at the Training Centre today, I’d be tempted to get out for a run, before the real business starts next week.

There are only a few things a manager can do in his first few days in charge of a new squad but setting standards for fitness and training are two clear examples.  Monitoring is not just about stepping on the scales anymore, the players will have their body fat, glycogen levels and heart beats documented from when they get back and throughout the season thereafter.  With benchmarks for all, as well as performances.  I’m feeling tired even thinking about it.

A majority of Scots in the Borders area plan to vote to stay in the UK in September’s independence referendum, a poll has found.

A ComRes survey for ITV Border News of voters in Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders council areas in June found 61% propose to vote No, up from 59% in January.

    ================================================================

    61% of what number?

The entire region has desperate demographics and its a major fight by central government to try and retain viable populations in many parts of it…….thats a fact by the way, not speculation or conjecture.

    Just saying……

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=

No idea pal, it’s from todays Hootsmon……………Just put it in for balance.

No…………..Thanks, if ye get ma drift.

That was one of the highlights of the Radio coverage so far. One of the great things about the World Cup in Brazil, is that we get to hear, and see more of Tim Vickrey, the BBC’s South American correspondent. It was he who set up and helped conduct the interview. He is not only the most professional broadcaster out there, he is the most knowledgeable, and the most enthusiastic, though I like Mark Chapman as well. And he gets on well with Neil Lennon, great work from earlier.

If got a wee feeling that this will be a very eventful period in our history

The new management team will instil new levels of fitness … Get with the program bhoys or get on the train :(

There will be casualties when some rebel or are just not up for the challenge .

The SMSM will sensationalise every departure but I will keep the faith as the new regime take us from strength to strength ;)

Just reading the green mile blog and thinking back to my days at Celtic park with my dad then later taking my son as a wee boy then one of my last memories when we went to the European match against Valencia and watched the penalty kicks unfold and left the Lisbon lions stand in tears .

Our club … Our family … Our tears … Our joy

    Great photograph !

I remember seeing a Peregrine near the Kingsway flats ( Scotstoun / Knightswood ) – it was eating a pigeon ..

A common bird in South East Sicily .

The local Bird Protection group has just issued its annual ——Please leave Flamingo nests alone ——-plea . Seems flamingo guano makes great skunk fertilizer .

    Goodness gracious me.

I can’t believe it but we may have found some common ground!

Ornithology is my job, my pleasure and my frustration at times. Yes – I hold a licence and I do share your concerns about hen harriers in particular so don’t get me started on that one.. Love all the birds! Today I was fortunate enough to come across a male peregrine hunting well outside its normal territory and an alarming dunlin. I will stop now before I tell my white-tailed eagle story….

Finally – all the Scottish birds I have asked will be voting YES!!!

  9. The Cote d’Ivoire top, and shorts, would make an excellent away combo for CFC.

    Imo, of course.

I could have sworn that Mark Lawrenson said Drogba would head those corners away all day long.

  12. Howard Webb just cheating the Columbians by giving a free-kick for nothing at the edge of the D. Drogba fell whilst pulling the defenders shirt.

  13. One of the most pointless phrases from the commentator’s popular library of banality –

Down here in D&G we have the truly awful Border News which in my opinion just gives the North of England’s perspective on things so this poll is no surprise.

  16. I was visiting Lennoxtown training centre the other week and couldn’t find the place for love nor money (didnae have sat nav). Pulled up at Campise Glen and asked a man tending his garden how to get there.

He told me to wait a minute. Went inside his house and came out with printed directions. He said because of the legal dispute Celtic can’t put up signs and people stop and ask him all the time. His directions even told me to watch out for the sleeping policeman which are the same colour as the farm road.

    Smashing bloke!

  17. Peter Lawell…. I recommend you start signing South American players…Colombian, Chile, Mexico….. any of the above.

Just avoid the Mexican type that snort Charlie off the bawsack of tranny’s … (Juarez ) and the like.

Yes mate. I’ve been over that wau and never noticed the route in.

Only do it if it’s not too much trouble.

    Cheers.

Tony Watt is going to have to re-invent himself and knuckle down big time under this new Delia/Collins regime or he’ll be gone for good. I sincerely hope the penny finally drops and he realises what an honour and privilege it is to play for Celtic.

Lennoxtown at the Town Hall turn into Station Road.

Along Station Road and go over bridge.

    Turn sharp right.

Now in quite a narrow farm road – watch out for sleeping policemen

    Pass the farm

At end of raod there is a bungalow on your right – go past the bungalow and up the hill.

Follow the road round – training ground is on your left up the hill and round the corner.

Once you go up the hill it comes into view.

  22. I really hope Tony Watt makes it, but loved the tweet someone posted the other week from him.

It’s 9.30 and my Dad is trying to get me out of bed to go training

    9.30 that’s commitment for ya
