Wishful transfer thinking, broken Hearts

953

Celtic have been linked with a whole barrage of players over the last 24 hours, strongly linked in some instances.  While it is more fun to drool over players coming in than fret as existing players leave the club, I’m very sure that some of the reports floating around right now are the product of wishful thinking on the part of agents trying to place their players with a top European club.

For each player you read about, two others will be under consideration, and remember the golden rule, if players or agents are talking publicly, they are not talking to Celtic.  It’s easy to generate screeds of column inches for you, or your client, with a few well-chosen phrases.

Ukio Bankas statement this morning that current bids for the assets of Hearts which they hold security over, specifically Tynecastle Stadium, scene of Scotland’s most famous non-assault, do not meet their valuation presents real challenge to the club.  Hearts are a club capable of generating in the region of £10m.  Operating the club on a budget this size will be difficult, raising enough cash to satisfy Ukio Bankas might be impossible.

Unlike the situation last year with Rangers, when Craig Whyte secured an irrevocable undertaking upon liquidation to transfer Ibrox Stadium to Sevco 5088 Ltd, Ukio Bankas liquidators are unlikely to reject a CVA but accept a lower bid for Tynecastle.  Without a stadium, a Newco is unlikely.  The best Hearts fans could be faced with is going “Cap in hand”, as they sing down Easter Road, to Hibs, with a request for Newco to ground-share.

Wallace Mercer was ahead of his time. Flats, flats……….

After the dreadful news from Thailand, here’s some great news re Vanessa Riddle….from “Vanessa’s Journey” on FaceBook:

“Vanessa’s just back from Germany folks, this time she was having end of treatment scans. Since finishing her last course of Antibody therapy in May, she’s been keeping very well, looking great and been having a brilliant summer at home with all her friends and family, as can be seen in this recent pic of V and her sis. To that end, we weren’t expecting any bad news (its a bit of a stressful wait though!)

Results of the scans have just been given to us today ……… Vanessa’s still in complete remission; no signs of Neuroblastoma! the best news we can get really!

It’s not been a great few weeks for news on Neuroblastoma for others though. Young Adam Bird from Epsom, whom we had never met but know so much of, sadly passed away recently after his long battle with the disease …… RIP little lad, you will be sadly missed!

This trip to Germany should be Vanessa’s last trip, all treatment has now been completed, her last scan results showed that she was in complete remission and these scan results show the same. She will now attend Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow for follow up scans from here on in and get on with being a normal young teenager (albeit a grumpy one sometimes!)

It’s down to everyone on here that I can write such positive words about my daughter, you were all a tremendous support during our fundraising campaign and have continued to support ‘Vanessa’s Journey’ throughout. Connie and I are forever indebted to you all ……. Thank You! (Chris)”

Wonderful stuff, especially with Wee Oscar being in remission too! :-)

  2. Ghuys…..don’t know if I was hearing things but, if ye get a chance log into ssb replay…or whatever it’s called. Stepped into the car and on the radio is a Sevco fan giving Neil Doncaster pelters for keepin the Rankers down. Nothing to do with him says Keevins…..it was the chairmen and the likes of Lawell and various other club ceo’s……so yer targeting the wrong person. Then he actually said….and I quote…”so you have to target someone else”

Now, after the threats to Lenny, Turnbull et al……how irresponsible is that?

I have already lost count as to how many times the MSM have informed us that if HMFC fail to agree a CVA the football CLUB will be liquidated ,how can that be ,

It is only the company surely .

Any doubt about the MSM being puppets for the peepil will be blown away soon and the SFA will be next with how they deal with the Hertz situation

  4. Miki, I’ve been following your posts for a while now. More power to your elbow, perhaps you’re an inspiration to others?

I’m not expecting any more signings to follow Derk through the Parkhead gates this week, we won’t be sweeping up any more Eredivisie bhoys

Yes, Neil is saying that Kelvin may be leaving for family reasons.

  7. Just read that PL was in Amsterdam end of last week brokering a deal with Ajax. That would be round about the time he was being slaughtered on CQN for sitting on his arse and refusing to spend money on new players.

    No?

  8. Yes 31003…….I heard that as well…..surprised no one else thinks its a big deal……but there you are….

  9. hankray – bad news, one of lennie’s good guys, he saw something in him and stuck with him, a lot like he did with hoops though to be honest, I can’t remember Wilson having many sluggish matches. bad bad news, hope Wilson’s ok.

A trusted London city source tells me 75% chance Hearts will be liquidated. All recent S/B sales null/void. SPFL left with 11 teams! #problem

  11. Made an impulsive and, in retrospect, unjust remark on Mark Daly’s integrity as his documentary started this evening.

Closed laptop and watched show so no idea what others think or thought of my comment st – if anything.

Having now watched programme I feel horrified about actions of individuals accused. They let themselves and the Church down very badly. The Church as a body do not come out well.; overly defensive and denying.

Those who DO come out well….. The victims and Mark Daly; clearly a proper, professional journalist.

Lesson learned: listen before jumping to conclusions and defending the indefensible. I will try to follow this lesson in future.

  12. My first post for a while (holidays, work etc) so I’m not sure if this has been covered already.

What are PL, NL etc playing at?

Gary, Victor and Paddy have gone – our 3 best player-songs wiped out just like that.

And the replacements – van Dijk, Balde and (possibly) Boerrigter – not a decent lyric or tune amongst them.

The priority must be to sign a player with an established song before the Champions league deadline.

Just watched the bbc documentary with mark daly…lets hope the church now support any criminal investigations into the vile people who hide behind them … hope pope francis does indeed rebuild the church starting with this horrible issue.

I’m assuming that some people in the media/sports industry are suggesting that the tribute team look like they may do damage this season. Well, I would say from watching their Ramsden game that there is no sign for optimism. Albion Rovers are very short of football players. None of them look capable. Sevco should have scored way more than just four goals. Close down Nicky Law and the game takes care of itself. League Cup says Keevins. Absolutely no chance says me.

  16. Surely nothing can be gained by any of the parties involved in this abuse scandal by ignoring the issues because the “school closed years ago”.

The most important people in this are the victims, we have no way of knowing the full extent of the damage that has been done or the implications that it has had on there lives.

The damage that has been caused to the church by this is immense, I cannot imagine the shame and pain it has caused to the decent clergymen , nuns and laymen who carry out great work which is undermined by these horrific revelations.

The time has come for the church to stop protecting these people and stand up and apologise to the victims and ensure that the perpterators are brought to justice. This is what the decent members of the church want.

I would urge all people who have a god to pray for all the victims.

  17. Paul67 et al

Three interested parties, one of which is the Italian Charlie Green, a saviour even the most desperate jambo will not welcome, but none coming close to the debts owed, to those they are owed to. And no Lloyds Bank in sight to turn them into equity. Looks like the Lithuanians value Tynecastle more than Duff&Phelps valued the Ibrox/Murray Park combo, but maybe BDO will take that on board in their proceeding liquidation of the club that was. To be fair to the Hearts’supporters they are at least making an effort, but the fact is the so called establishment clubs of Glasgow and Edinburgh both face liquidation in the same year. Write that up any way you want!

    Thanks for this.

I’m feeling a bit more confident about Wednesday as these songs should be enough to see us through this round.

  19. 31003 – if that doesn’t sum up the bottom feeder’s wee world, I don’t know what does. They are so warped , I’ll remember that as a reference point of trying to understand them- a lifelong obsession. ‘it is immaterial what we do , we hate others so much we can blame them’.

  20. greenyinfurrafenian on

if hertz are liquidised there’ll be a media clamour for the bosch 2012 to be club “12” and i suspect if the premier clubs were to vote on it, i think they would sanction a spot in the top league

My parish priest is a fantastic example of what the calling can mean

Dundee & Morton would challenge that for starters.

No one likes them and they don’t care

    ( apparently ).

  24. The game is being shown overseas but not sure who is beaming it though.

I hear that Elfsborg attack down the flanks, any thoughts on the best way to counter it. First thought would be attack down the flanks also, if we’re attacking surely they cannot, but what is our best formation to do this and not leave ourselves exposed at the rear.
