Celtic have been linked with a whole barrage of players over the last 24 hours, strongly linked in some instances. While it is more fun to drool over players coming in than fret as existing players leave the club, I’m very sure that some of the reports floating around right now are the product of wishful thinking on the part of agents trying to place their players with a top European club.
For each player you read about, two others will be under consideration, and remember the golden rule, if players or agents are talking publicly, they are not talking to Celtic. It’s easy to generate screeds of column inches for you, or your client, with a few well-chosen phrases.
Ukio Bankas statement this morning that current bids for the assets of Hearts which they hold security over, specifically Tynecastle Stadium, scene of Scotland’s most famous non-assault, do not meet their valuation presents real challenge to the club. Hearts are a club capable of generating in the region of £10m. Operating the club on a budget this size will be difficult, raising enough cash to satisfy Ukio Bankas might be impossible.
Unlike the situation last year with Rangers, when Craig Whyte secured an irrevocable undertaking upon liquidation to transfer Ibrox Stadium to Sevco 5088 Ltd, Ukio Bankas liquidators are unlikely to reject a CVA but accept a lower bid for Tynecastle. Without a stadium, a Newco is unlikely. The best Hearts fans could be faced with is going “Cap in hand”, as they sing down Easter Road, to Hibs, with a request for Newco to ground-share.
Wallace Mercer was ahead of his time. Flats, flats……….

Haven’t seen the Mark Daly programme, reading on here my guess is that young people were abused by adults who were supposed to be caring for them. It’s never acceptable nor can it be excused by ‘that was then’ the more these historical cases are exposed the less likely the circumstances will be allowed to occur which made it easy for these predators to operate.
!!bada bing!!

Yes, JR Fisher was a great host. We arrived straight from airport at around 4:30pm, so had to depart early, as we had been on the go from 8am in the morn.
Knoxs=Great family!. Wee Oscar was a menace, but this is allowed. Lovely to see this family starting to move towards a normal life.

Just to let you know that the CQN predictor competition will now commence on weekend of 17th August to coincide with the start of the EPL. Well that is the official reason. Unofficially I have been too busy lazing in Lanzarote to organise it sooner :-)
Will be in contact this weekend to all those that have registered.

Funnily enough im just about to book my flights for 15th november so you can bet your bottom …. dollar. .. we will be playing a major team at celtic park during the following two weeks
At the risk of being wrong again, I think the KO time is 6.45 CP time, but don’t take my word for it, as I’ve been known to be wrong.
Just the once, though !

the away leg next week is 6.45 CP time
ThomtheTim, sorry mate, just checked the fishul site, K.O. 19:45 on Wednesday, the away leg however is 18:45.
Just seen Gary Hoops interview on SSN. Seems a very modest fellow. Good luck to him.
Darn. It’s the second leg that’s at 6.45. Dum dum.
The Donegal CQN AGM is being held in Sean Og’s on the evening of the second leg…….I think!!
I’m disappointed by the lack of comment here on CQN on Mark Daly’s BBC documentary. But I do realise that many Catholics will be shocked about the concrete evidence of abuse. Many will be reflecting and coming to terms with the evidence. Many will be disgusted by the policy of relocation rather than the legal route of conviction.
This was one of the most powerful and well evidenced documentaries ever shown on BBC by a journalist many of us respected through his investigation on RFC. These revelations are way more important than anything we heard about RFC. Why? Because peoples’ lives were destroyed. Men have had to carry deep, deep hurt and anguish through to their 60s and 70s because the majority fail to call the Catholic Church to account. I only looked briefly at comments earlier on CQN and left in disgust by some clown’s juvenile comment that all investigation should be dropped as the school has closed. The victims live on and need your support and mine.

Got my ticket on saturday for the match … states 7:45pm… and they never get it wrong ;)))

Who ?
Btw … just saw a twitter post there on herenveen site. .. ” can’t say any more today about finboggason transfer to celtic. . Hope to have news tomorrow”
CRC – we were in a place called Cala Finestrat, a couple of miles away from “Sodom and Gomorrah”! Quieter place mostly used by the Spanish and some foreigners, like us.
Very hot, but I’m missing the blue skies already. Some nice scenery too….! ;-)
Sounds like you had a great time in Lanzarote, including your meeting with a famous CQN lurker!!

timgreen
the poster who made the comment you refer to watched the docu and apologised for his remarks.
Timgreen
A few of us made similar statements after the documentary aired.
Although I do understand people asking why no follow through on rangers story and hope they expand the revelations to all predators who commit vile crimes
OK. I’ve missed some reaction. I’ll trawl back.
Herenveen nuews on twitter
Today we can’t say more about finnbogasson transfer to Celtic FC .
We wish you goodnight and hope can tell a lot tomorrow !
#hmmmmm
TBJ–snap !! Hh
Johann
You meeting the old chap at the match on Wednesday. ..
Johann
Jeepers… dont do that snap noise. . I ruptured both achilles tendons within 12 months of each other and that noise brings back very painful memories … ouch
Timgreen I am often told that I offend people when I offer up prayers and say god bless due to this being a Celtic site and not a catholic one.
I didn’t watch the programme but agree with everyone that the victims need or support and prayers while the perpetrators and those who covered it up deserve to be taken the full distance for their crimes.
Child abuse is abhorrent to all of us..
timgreen,
We in Ireland have gone through the pain and disgust that our fellow Catholics in Scotland are experiencing now.
It is a long tortuous road, but I believe that there is change happening.
I think that Pope Francis is replacing those Bishops and Cardinals with much younger men, who, hopefully are not compromised.
It may take a generation, but, in my opinion, Ireland is suffering through the lack of moral authority that the Church is meant to provide.
There is no voice in Ireland to speak for the people who are struggling to cope with the aftermath of the greed and corruption.
I think that the Faith is stronger in Scotland, as priests were never placed on the pedestal and had the backing of the State, as they have/ had here.
Terrible, evil abuse of children has been endemic across all Christian churches, sadly.
It’s only the main stream media who delude people into thinking it is a Catholic problem.

I would line up with a 4-3-3 variation into 4-2-3-1 for attack.Defending obviously would be 4-5-1, my aim of the game would be to deprive them of space draw them out and counter in wide areas with speed.
I think they will give away plenty of free kicks if we do this, and i also think we will score from them.
Hail Hail.
