At 21-years-old Tom Rogic should be strongly staking his claim for a central midfield berth at Celtic. The fact that he’s not is a disappointment to the player, and apparently the nation of Australia. It’s also a disappointment to you and me. He has the physique and the passing ability but after some tentatively positive performances last season he hasn’t kicked on as hoped.
There could be lots of reasons for this, it’s not necessarily the ‘fault’ of the player, his ability or the club, but football careers wither on the vine when clubs hoard talent. If Tom can get some game-time under his belt at Melbourne Victory, and potentially get to Brazil in the summer, we will have a better indication if he is the real deal.
Someone just text me, “Rangers need to be a long-term sustainable business and that’s the bottom line. The club needs to change”, from that memorable Craig Whyte interview to The Scotsman in 2012. Groundhog Day….
So Fifa presidential candidate, Jerome Champagne, has proposed the introduction of a sin-bin, to be invoked by the referee brandishing an orange card. What’s your view on this, is there a universal association between sin and orange, or is this another subversive plot by Celtic fans? I have my suspicions.

Andy Murray looking a bit leg weary compared to his older opponent even this early in the match.
Hope he wakes up soon.Come on Andy.
Separated at birth?……Have you ever seen Roger Federer and Quentin Tarrantino in the same room together?…..The facial resemblance is spooky.

Good spot! Mr.White?!
Today’s fat salary induced question:
Why are the people only interested in the welfare of the person?
Fergus McCann labelled Tommy Burns and Davie Hay ‘Catholic bigots’.

22:21 on 21 January, 2014Re Bobby Tait,I do recall that in the weeks before the Rankers vs Killie game that MrTait’s timekeeping had been called out in the press by none other than Davie P on radio, and the Shugster in the Sunday Mail. The idea that refs were allowed to request the venue for the final match before retiring is an absolute disgrace and a prime example of what I call institutional bigotry.
Anytime the subject came up on Snyde,Spiers would go in to fits of laughter…..
Strongly agree. Referees are employees with a funtion to perform. They sdhould have absolutely no say in which games they referee.I don;t get to pick and choose which projects I get assigned at work. As long as the SFA is in charge of refereeing in Scotland there will always be a stench and a suspicion of bias (from all angles/clubs). Scottish referees’ behaviour over the last few years has shown them to be a bunch of unprofessional, overpaid, underperforming prima donnas.

No doubt you’re right mate. The cheating continues. If you were to aska hun they would say they are technically playing within the rules.

Sorry to interrupt but does anyone on here have any info on the Celta Vigo v Celtic match programme from the 2003 Seville run , I am trying to pick up this programme for my collection . Appears to have been produced in a newspaper style ( according to eBay ) , can anyone confirm if this was /is the case ?
Thanks in advance .

My main concern with paragraph 17 of the Advisory group on tackling sectarianism in Scotland is the fact that the penalties and implementation of them will be at the determination of Scottish Footballs “governing bodies” in consultation with the police. Obviously the Advisory group are unaware of the heavily conflicted Campbell Oglivie et al or the Jim Farry case. They must also be unaware of how the Police have implemented the O B at F Bill. Para 17would constitute a blank cheque to the brown brogue brigade to do to our club what they have always dreamed of doing.

SOOOOOOOOOOO whats your thoughts on Gordon(wan brain cell) Dalziel and SSB.:)))
Hope you are well sir
In relation to earlier post. It would also be interesting to see what the working definition of sectarianism would be and whether the lines between political/sectarian would be intentionally “blurred”

There are some very decent managers out there who could, and would do a good job for them at a fraction of his salary.

So what?
Dalziel is just thick.
He ain’t no bigot.
He married a Catholic girl and got sent packing from Ibrox for doing that.
He was genuinely a Motherwell fan growing up.

Paul Elliot left Celtic long before Fergus or Jock Brown appeared?

Didn’t Elliot leave before Liam Brady even arrived? Wasn’t it Billy McNeill who dealt with him?

Top of the morning to you all from a dreich Fife.
Regarding war, I like the speech by Smedley Butler in his time the most decorated soldier in the US Marine Corps. He got it right. War is a racket.

Go on Andy boy 2-1 down now, saves 2 match points
Brilliant effort from Mrs Murray’s lad… Almost down and out, but pulls back a set.
Goodness knows what Federer is drinking though, but give me a pint of it.
Murray pulls of a miracle comeback in tiebreaker – down 2 sets to 1.
ryecatcher:
Your correct, apologies (I could use the excuse I’m watching the tennis but that would not be 100% true, my memory served me wrong) but Celtic did renege on the house purchase. I used to get on the plane back to London with Paul Elliot after the games.
tonydonnelly67:
You do not have a clue about my feelings for Fergus McCann so why be such a presumptuous dick and try and tell me what my feeling were/are for the man.
Shorter Smedley Butler on intervensionism.
Smedley Butler in his day the most decorated man in the US Marine Corps saw through the sham of intervensionism http://www.fas.org/man/smedley.htm

Tonydonnelly….
Did you and wee Fergus compare bunnets when you both lived in Canada?
Did you go drinking with him in the Moose’s Heed?
Anybody hear the 1st caller on SSB last night? He had “inside information” that Fat Sally has had enough, and is ready to “do walking away”! Prepare for an announcement (on Friday I believe), that he’ll be getting the Blackpool gig!
Ha ha ha ha ha !
Please God, no! Sally must stay!

……?…………………………
Just logged on and read the above. I’m sure it has been debunked by now. Timeline would appear to be miles out. Paule Elliot was long gone before Jock Brown and Fergus arrived at Celtic.
Re. What happened with Elliot leaving Celtic. The version I heard was that Celtic told him he could buy a house up to a certain value. £140k was the amount I heard according to the tale. Elliot proceeds to buy a house for £40k and demands the balance from Celtic who refuse to pay. He then takes club to court and wins …….. I think.
Re. The family. I think he was separated from his wife. He claimed he wanted to move back to London to be near his young daughter.
