BROONY LEADS WAY IN MILLER TRIBUTE

1

CELTIC’S big-hearted skipper Scott Brown has donated part of his testimonial money to a charity in memory of tragic former Hoops midfielder Liam Miller who sadly passed away at only 36 in February.

Now Parkhead legends will pay tribute to the ex-Republic of Ireland ace in a game to take place in his native Cork.

The match will be held at Cork City’s Turner Cross stadium and will see a team of Manchester United icons take on a side made up of Celtic and Irish stars.

Dermot Desmond, the champions’ majority shareholder, is on the committee for the event, which will also include a tribute dinner in the evening.

The match is to take place on Tuesday, September 25, and will include Henrik Larsson in the Celtic/Republic of Ireland mix managed by Martin O’Neill.

Others involved in the game will be Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, Jaap Stam, Robbie Keane, Damien Duff and Kevin Kilbane.

The 7,200-seater stadium is likely to sell out and more legends are to be announced soon.
