  1. Like I’v been saying for weeks there are many on all Celtic blogs doing the SMSM job, I even looked at the CQN coverage of yesterday’s game, and the amount of slagging they where giving Celtic was redicules, but as soon as that 2nd goal went in? They dissapeared like snow aff a dyke, they where waiting on RC tying it up it was so obvious and funny, I notice a few back in this morning thing the SMSM line and going with the flow, and SFTB why? Would you go to CQN corner before a game in these negative times? You’d have a better day in the Louden Bar, IMO.

  2. SFTB

One of the reasons for nervousness before games may be the fear that even if we are playing well, as in the first 30 mins at Aberdeen or 15 v Ross County in LC, we are always liable to lose a goal that turns the game that was preventable. Even Hayes shot at Aberdeen came as result of weak defending.

However yesterday we made very few unforced errors with Boyoata having a very good game. Sviachenko made in bad cross field pass that provided the kind of goal scoring opportunity we have come to fear but we got away with it.

Some very good work is undone by player error. Griffiths should have scored after rounding the keeper but he made up for it soon after. Bitton lost the ball in midfield once or twice but was not last man, so no opening up as has happened before.

A 3-1 half time scoreline would have been a fair reflection of chances and in second half we were comfortable bar that one cross field pass and could have scored more.

We need a number of games like yesterday to get rid of that fear. We need a settled back four especially at CB and I’d like to see Bitton or Rogic physically boss midfield then rely on skill to cement the defence, but until the cement sets that nervousness which players must feel too will remain.

A string of 2 nil victories like yesterday will do me for now.

  3. Fek this, had enough of the moaning faced ,alleged fans on here.I am sure when Paul started this site it was to celebrate supporting Celtic.I am afraid thats gone to the wall.Anyone who actually supports the team on here is treated like a proverbial Leper.

You can keep it.I wont let 54 years of loving Celtic be destroyed by a shower of anti Celtic supporters.

From what I saw — 30 minutes up until half time it was a very even game with a lack of just about everything from us and an increasingly confident RC starting to play some football in between their continual heavy fouls that seems to be their way.

Consequently we were playing well within our capabilities and wage bill while RC were not playing like a mid table away team at the league leaders should.

NB was not at the races.

SA couldn’t be bothered — his long range shot was lazy, wasteful and disinterested.

To me he is the canary in the coal mine — he has collapsed in stature, attitude and capabilities after 12 months with us and you have to ask why?

SJ was in headless chicken mode.

SB is not a sitting MF especially when his support is a space cadet.

Consequently a lot of talent doing very little against a limited but game opposition is not where I want the club to be.

Regarding the KHR proposal to have an elitist ECL, now is the time to put pressure on UEFA.

BRTH suggested that the “big boys” might resign from UEFA and start their own association. The “smaller” associations, of which there a far more (3 in the UK) should mobilise together and threaten UEFA with the same scenario if this proposal goes ahead. It’s not just the CL that they administer but also the Europa League and the European Championship – which will look good with the same 6 national teams competing every 4 years.

Of course if the elitist ECL were to include former winners then the rest of them can get tae……. :-)

  6. Lennybhoy…

Can’t disagree with what you say. CRC made a good point about names on tops (though I reckon he’s too old now:) going back to when getting my kids their strips they had so many options, sadly for parents today there is probably just one.

As has been said continually…buy quality within our means and drop the roll of a dice strategy.

Ps… I’ll stick to my own picks from now on….that was for you Pog ;)

Off out soon , but hey there will be somebody else posting shortly who you can patronise ….. keep up the good work

  8. And 4 years ago we still had so much to be confirmed about the extent of the cheating.

But now it is safe to say that MO’N “lost” the league in ’03 and ’05 just like Carl Lewis “lost” the ’88 100 metres final to a rattling Ben Johnson.

Who maybe should have got his people to say that the pills were ‘imperfectly’ swallowed.

  9. Auldheid

For Celtic players to boss the midfield like the other teams midfield players do, the referee has to call it right, on a level playing field same for both teams, that’s not been happening this season, we get the yellows they get the brakes, just one instance, Efe sent off goal scoring opportunity, Aberdeen player on Griffiths yellow card ? And it’s not paranoia, it’s been going on all season, hit them hard and there heads go down, and no wonder the heads go down? We’re not allowed to beef it up, ffs you can practically guarantee a yellow for brown every game nearly.

    Not snow of a dyke.

More a case the rugby got interesting.

I offered my 11 year old son a chance to go to the game yesterday but he wanted to watch the rugby — we are losing the next generation at a rate of knots.

Half filled stadium watching a series of projects who have no future with us is not the way to build or sustain a support — We are destroying ourselves.

  11. Perish the thought that you should have an opinion that this current Celtic side aren’t the best or that you should question the manager or the ability/application of some of the players.

Either, we’re getting our opinions from the media or our opinions are driving the media.

    Absolute pish.

Ps I will say, those that boo a Celtic team should really just stay at home when we’re playing.

    The original.sadies bhoy,

Rangers’ ebts were improperly administered; from what I understand, if they had followed Philip Baxendale-Walker’s advice and not isued side letters, then they would have not been breaking the law at the time.

I didn’t say gambling companies names on srips.was illegal.

I didnt think you.would have supported Celtic using EBTs nor did I say that you did. I was making the point that everyone has things they think are not acceptable.

Woild you agree that weve done this discussion?

    …………………………………………….

Hang on a minute. We had an exchange of views about advertising on jerseys and you then introduced EBTs into the discussion. Why? It’s a total non-sequitur. You might not have said it but by introducing EBTs I think you were implying that I might have approved of that for Celtic to gain an advantage.

I would rather listen to some of the good music on here.

Kojo want to the jiggin a wee while ago and has not returned in that persona although, like Gravitational weaves, his influence can be detected in the nuances of some who hold his flame sacred – Kevjungle for example :-)

I do miss some ‘characters, mojo being one along with philvis and Edward ursus

  14. Kinky redstart thanks for your sole response, some quality names you mentioned there, my impression is the quality has dropped somewhat now. I would, for the sake of fairness consider myself a low quality blogger. H H Hebcelt

  15. Madmitch

SB was not up to the correct pace of the game due to his long lay off which meant NB had to cover more ground and was made to look a bit of a twat on I assigns, if you really believe that certain players cannot be bothered , indeed the same player burst down the left wing beat the full back and put a could be bothered beautiful cross into the box for the second goal …. Still game of opinions , I believe that in a professional football sense our chaps on the pitch are actually bothered and that the SJ headless chicken had his best game this season ,

  16. Oh the old days and the debates surrounding amortisation.

How we could get something so wrong — sorry how P67 could get it so wrong.

Then there was G.O.D and then there was the letdown.

Kojo did post that he was going to the jiggin… according to him it was in Las Vegas. … more likely listening to glasvegas while hanging out at clatty pats.

He used to be the only person who’s drivel I always scrolled past …. sadly since his demise there are loads

  18. SA was very poor in the first half.

Really looked as if he couldn’t be bothered and was phoning it in.

The talent is there but he looks lost at times — most of the game with a few nuggets of skill thrown in now and then to remind us of the player we bought.

You have a wide MF getting the ball on the wing with one defender in front of him.

How far we have fallen — JF take a bow — if we want to hand out prizes to a player managing to get the cross in.

If DB was cute he should have missed on purpose to get the RC player sent off — denying a scoring opportunity. However he plays in the SPL and he knows the way things work.

20% chance of penalty being awarded.

10% chance of the player being sent off.

20% chance of LG scoring a penalty.

  19. Hebcelt

How did you know my alter ego Kinky Redstart – can’t wait to get these stilettos off!

Yes we are going through a wee dip in quality posts and folk are a bit down, however there are still gems and hope. We will prevail.

  21. EK @ 11.47

Can’t comment on the 2nd half.

However the first half was poor — even game with RC at CP is a letdown for me.

They bossed us in the MF.

We had better defence and LG was a bigger threat.

However some of our play was low energy and very boring.

    AULDHEID

You’re spot on regarding yesterday’s game. The players looked nervous in the first half and a lot of fans were ready to get on their backs if/when they slipped up. Boyata had a great game and was solid defensively as was Sviatchenko apart from the error you alluded to. I have absolutely no evidence to base it on but I wonder if Biton was expecting to leave in the transfer window and has been disappointed. To me, he is a fantastic player who has played poorly throughout January and especially since the window closed. He signed a 5 year deal in November (perhaps to help Celtic get a good price for him?) but I noticed in yesterday’s Herald he was talking about perhaps going to England at some point. Maybe I’m reading too much into things.

I agree with your point that we need to consolidate these performances to give us confidence and a series of 2-0 victories would certainly go a long way to bringing back the collective players’ confidence.

  23. Arsenal will never get a better chance to end their title drought. No Manure to worry about, Chelsea at the other end of the table, Citeh with a manager keeping the seat warm for Pep, Spurs’ lack of experience in a run-in and Leicester’s smaller squad of experienced players leaving them susceptible to injuries, especially Vardy and their Henrik type bargain player whose name escapes me.

    Have to win today though.

    Hope it’s a great game.

Like you I do not read or listen to the MSM. I can make my own mind up, I am not a Sheep.

I do believe though that Football works in cycles, just now in my opinion we are going through one of those bad cycles and it is hard.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

It’s a joke and a slap in the face to the honesty and integrity of fellow Celtic supporters.

The Internet has much to answer for. When, in the pub or on a supporters bus, were you ever called a Hun or your devotion to Celtic ever questioned?

Never. Yet now, because you have a differing opinion you get wahoos chucking pathetic labels around.

  26. Thanks Hebcelt

I’ve fished South Uist – which one are you?

In the dark times when we have a wee blip in form or I am annoyed at the beatification of the died ones I drift over a Loch or two in my mind and feel as though we got the Hurd in Seville

  27. I think a possible reason for the negativity aimed at Celtic these days from the msm and sleekits everywhere is because we can win Five in a row this year, read it again FIVE in a row. I love saying it.

Good result against a sticky team who looked finished when the 2nd goal went in on Saturday, I don’t think many teams are comfortable when they have to go looking for goals against, us they much prefer to defend deep and rush us if we lose the ball like cheapskate muggers, but hey ho that’s the way they do it up here.

Keep the Faith Bhoys n Ghirls,

    Happy Valentines day :-)

Happy Liquidation day :-) maybe we should have something like a poppy as a token of our respect for the dead, all proceeds could go to SCIAF we could force everyone to buy them and wear them on TV, ohh what a lark it would be if we could get all the teams to print them on their shirts.

    Hail Hail.

My faith regarding Celtic as a club will always be there until, for whatever reason, I’m unable to attend. However, I’ve had enough of clowns talking about agendas etc.

To suggest that I get my opinion on Celtic from the media is contemptible and ridiculous.

Still, if it makes them feel comfortable in their sycophantic bubble….

  29. HAMILTONTIM on 14TH FEBRUARY 2016 12:15 PM

Fancy 3 draws today on the Sky game?

  31. The question was asked of the many Celtic supporting, season ticket holders, shareholders etc, as we departed CQN Coarner, by one of the Bhoys

Are we confident of winning today ? I did not hear anyone say No

Answered varied from 2-0 to 3-1

Another question was asked by another CQN Coarner Bhoy

Would you be confident if we lost the first goal

We all departed to support the Celtic

Open debate on Celtic no longer allowed, unless you follow a set agenda on sucking up to the Management or board
