Celtic have five games still to play this month against teams they have recorded two draws, three defeats and no wins against this season. Hearts and Rangers conformably recorded home wins against Celtic while St Johnstone won at Celtic Park. Udinese were fortunate to escape Glasgow with a point thanks to a late penalty, while Kilmarnock demonstrated their unpredictability by taking, then losing, a three goal lead.
There was a bit of optimistic chat over the weekend that three of our next four league games are at home but these are the teams we need to beat to win the league. If Celtic come through this month unscathed in domestic football they will win the league, but despite current good form, this will be a huge challenge, starting against Hearts at 15:00 on Saturday.

You have some memory. There was a sprinkling of teachers cars in those days.
“The school garden” concealed huge boulders that 1st year pupils were chucked intae on their first day.
———————————————————————-
It was the bushes they were chucked into was it not, too cruel to chuck them onto boulders surely.
In my final 2 years I was a monitor and every morning after assembly outside in the playground I was assigned to a stair landing to ensure that pupils would enter in silence and be well behaved on way to class. Anyone breaking that rule would be sent to the headmaster. So power went to my head and for the sheer hell of it would just point to some poor wee lad who had done nothing wrong and tell him to report to the headmaster. Rinty Monaghan asked no questions, just gave the belt to whoever was sent to him.

Got me there with John McFall. Only recall him being a teacher.
Vmhan, Sannabhoy….. Keep watching Breaking Bad. It just gets better and better. Season 4 is exceptional especially last 6 episodes!! God I’m beginning to sound like James Forrest without the literary skills!!!

No source, just an e-mail from someone whom I trust and respect, and he reckoned he will pull the plug this week, just thought I would share it, though there dosen’t seem to be too much on the blog these days about things like our foes going down the pan, many posts about how bad our players are, loads of posts about how the manager is making the wrong choices re team selection, substitutions, just thought I would throw it in rather than moaning about the negative stuff imo on the blog
IMO, we are already there, it is imminent, depending on time span, imminent can be longer or shorter, but I wouldn’t wait too long if that makes any sence, a week to me is not much these days, a week to the grandweans is a lot, whatever, they will not make the end of the season.

The big barman isn’t in.
Gerry looks much more hospitable clean shaven.
Mrs TT had to take a second look to recognise him.

Was possibly Levengrove Park looking out over the Clyde.
Not that you’d want to see the other side mind:o)
I still have my school badge (tradamus lampada and all) and monitor badge, I think I still know all of the school anthem/song – St Patricks Forever
Top Corner, you say Liverpool need 2 new FBs to challenge for title?
The 2 that are playing tonight cost a combined £25m!!!
Izzy and Matthews cost less than £1m between them!!
I know which 2 I would want.

Not sure about the nice lad bit though!! :)

The Exiled Tim.
Thanks. Choosing a bottle is actually a super task to mull over while going about the old daily grind.

Thanks amigo. Was on the same track last night.
As you well know there are some great guys on here who are a joy to converse with.
Way back in time as posters we didn’t hit it off until we met face to face. Your lovely family helped to convince me that there was a good side to you:o)
I chuckle now when newbies misunderstand you.
1. Come let us sing to the school of our youth,
Come let us sing of the happy moments past,
Guardian of honour and wisdom and truth
We shall uphold and revere to the last.
When in the conflict of doubt, fear, and dread,
We, by the faith of our school, shall be led.
Come let us sing to the school of our youth
And of men who have gone before;
St Patrick’s for ever, St Patrick’s for ever,
We’ll keep our heritage, and guard for evermore.
2. When, in the future, we look back and see
Visions of days spent in honest work and play,
Then we’ll remember how swift moments flee,
Then we’ll remember the call of to-day,
Shall we fulfil it, or shall we regret?
We shall endeavour to live as of yore
When, in the school of our youth, we were met,
And we sang as the men before.
St Patrick’s for ever, etc.

I am not a Dumbarton native but I did mispend a fair bit of my youth in the Elephant and Castle, Akrams and other salubrious hostelries of the time. My old man was also a St Pat’s man and used to speak at their dinners and so on.
Ol R.P. McMurphy– who lurks around here like a defrocked alterboy was a Bellsmyre man and tells many a good story–ok maybe 2– of life in the myre!
On Solly O’Hare, John Robertson in his autobiography- called Supertramp by the way– tells a great story about Solly arriving from Leeds after being with Clough at Derby and Elland Road. Robertson -then a young player trying to break into the team–thought he would latch on to Solly and partnered him in training. Now our John was not always noted for having a svelt figure and for industrious training sessions. So,on that first training session the two get chatting and eventually big John turns to wee John and says ” A word of advice son. If you want to break into the first team– then don’t train with me! That’ll get you nowhere– you need to be fitter than that!”.
Good good goal scorer O’Hare though.
Somebody mentioned Peter Goldie the other day and I am sure he played for Celtic briefly.

Billy Hughes. What a talent he was. Very tricky right winger although a little on the chubby side. Liked a fish supper too apparently. Great big shock of dark hair on the wing. Very talented and a winger in the real Celtic style. Always thought of him as a Celt even though he never played for us.

Ran a few ringers myself, remember a wee dog from down your way called Boy Blue, think the owner/trainer was a gent called Frew. Got a wee turn that night in ‘The Mount track championship’. Good days right enough :-)

We have know for over 100 years that we have been discriminated against, in the footballing world and in society in general, and over the years there has been many a discenting voice, but the will for change has not been strong enough.
I suppose timing has a major part to play, and sometimes waiting for the bigger picture to unfold has it’s drawbacks, people can see what is in front of their eyes and nothng is getting done to fix it, sure is annoying.
The ironic thing imo is they brought it on themselfs.
The dougie dougie thing was the straw that broke the camels back, things can never be the same for them anymore, just how far we are willing to go is another matter, but they have never been as vunerable as they are now.
It’s hose pipe time, over to you Celtic, they have handed you the oportuinty, use it, or forever wish you had.
Brogan, Rogan mentions Yogi & his brother Billy.
Both had full Scottish International Caps.
Since the 1960s FIVE other pairs of brothers have had that distinction.
Who were they ?
Meant to add this today on the names thingy thing. Worked beside a guy called Richard Pullar. You dernt call him Dick!! lol
The Gray brothers.
Tam Mc Adam & his brother.

Great post and your point is spot on.
I keep thinking about the supposed 9 MILLION Celtic followers throughout the world and the idea of having them all and their sidekicks do something for cahrity all at the one time and on the one day!!!
The Green mile, The Paradise Parade..or whatever
The Caldwells? (Shudders inadvertently)
Ooooh. Nice stuff from the amazing Mr Walnuts.
Over on RTC, he thinks HMRC will “get on the front foot” once they, rather than an administrator or receiver, get their hands on the £2.3 million. He talks of outstanding PAYE that HMRC may be able to make the basis of one of those nice, shiny winding-up orders.
So even if, to borrow Rogue Leader’s excellent phrase, the MBB doesn’t press the button before Friday, we can still be hopeful of some interesting action before the Bhoys next kick a ball in anger.
O tempora …
Who did Celtic play when Yogi wore his gutties. Aberdeen or thems?

I actually find buying a bottle rather easy, a bit stuck in my ways, I know what I like and like what I know :>)
Dissapointed a few times, have anticipated opening a bottle and been underwhelmed.
Enjoy your mulling, I have the same problem when choosing shoes, drives me mad, in the 70’s some of the shoes from Spain were the best I have ever seen and worn, still looking for a return to them days, too much Chineese influence these days :>)
Hen1rk………Wasn’t aware the SPL had cleared Celtic……progress indeed…..the rest of your post is absolutely spot on……….in the GB We have the beginnings of a return to the ’67 era, where our support inspired Big Jock and our Lisbon Lions…….
At last week’s game a young 6 year old (his first game) and I were singing along with the GB (from the Investor Club seats) instead of watching the game…..his dad commented “you do realise he will be wanting to go to every game”, (with a broad smile)……..
GB……..you have a big part to play in bringing back the good old days, and making Celtic fans across the world very happy……..
I quote ” I am not a bitter man” and “He rode like a King in command” ……..if you restrict our songs to Irish Heritage / Folklore / Football, we can then leave the bitterness to others…..?
…and, please, let’s have “Glasgow’s Green and White etc’ more often during the games ….. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING…..I was hoarse last Saturday….and I’m no spring chicken….LOL
You fill our stadium with the very SPIRIT of Brother Walfrid……..Hail Hail…!!

Now who did I miss ?
Just watched Landlords from Hell – C4
Sickening
It would seem death and taxes aren’t the only certainties in life. The Gombeen Man will also always be with us.
Parasitic leaching landlord scum, willing to put families with young kids into damp, spore-ridden, cockroach infested cesspits, so that they can make their buck.
And the real icing on the cake? The criminal incompetence, or worse, criminal collusion of Local Authority inspectors, who pass these hovels as fit for human habitation.
Rotten
I’m no Liverpool fan, but this ref is absolutely shafting them in a true SFA style of sleeketness.

Ghuys,
Is it possible we are looking at the Der Hun Administration Liquidation certainty thingy the faults of David Murray and Craig Whyte (Tax Dodging Scumbags), totally from the wrong angle here?
Is it possible that the impending slow destruction of Der Hun is being orchestrated from a higher authority than one being portrayed by the laptop loyal?
An authority so secret; that for the greater good of humanity is striving to make sure the demise of Der Hun must happen?
Is it possible that behind the scene influences are finally now seeing that in order to achieve racial parity within Scottish Society, that the demise of Der Hun is fundamental in reaching that goal?
Smoke and Mirrors by a bigger establishment on the establishment????
Carlsberg don’t do insolvency events, but if they did, it would be the best insolvency event in the world ;)

Good luck to this young lad
Derry City defender Daniel Lafferty has joined English Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion on trial.
The 22-year-old left-back had been on trial with Derby County last month but his time with the Rams was prematurely cut short after he sustained a minor hamstring injury.
Lafferty will take part in training this week and may be given a chance to impress in a reserve game with Reading.
The player may attract a fee in the region of £250,000.
“The injury I picked up when on trial with Derby County was a minor one and I feel 100 per cent. I’ve been keeping myself in shape and training away,” Leffrrty told the Sunday Journal.
“I am really excited to be going.
“Getting a chance to shine with a club like Brighton is why I became a professional footballer.
“I’m delighted to get the chance but I am under no illusions that there’s still plenty of hard work to be done.
Lafferty was previously on Celtic’s books before signing for his home town club Derry in July 2010.
The left-back has also been attracting interest from Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town.
During his time at Celtic, Lafferty had a loan spell at Ayr United.
This year his impressive form for Derry led to his inclusion in the Airtricity League side which played against Celtic in July.
