A kind of transubstantiation

840

Bobby Clark was the first Aberdeen goalkeeper I knew.  He was thought of highly, until Jim Leighton and colleagues stepped the performance levels up a pace at Aberdeen.  He has two places in the history books, one for the longest period not to concede a goal in Scottish league football, which when established in 1971 was also the European record.  He was also the first goalkeeper in European competition to face a penalty in a penalty kick competition.

Back in the dark days of the late 90s I had a Celtic mug with the message ‘Records can be broken but history can never be changed: Celtic, first British team to win the European Cup, 1967’.  Bobby Clark lost his European record within months and at Tynecastle next week Fraser Forster can break his Scottish record.  Bobby’s place as first to face a penalty competition is his in perpetuity.

Records are harder to break than they should be.  People get nervous when they approach, but it will be enormously satisfying if Celtic can sail through 31 minutes at Tynecastle without conceding.

Back in 2011 and early 2012 practically the entire CQN community was discussing Rangers impending insolvency event as an absolute certainty, but we’ve never been the most impartial community.  It was not until Daily Record journos stopped applying to Our Hero for a job and suggested ‘this excrement is about to get real’ that the penny dropped in many places.

This included portions of the Celtic support, who responded to the ‘news’ with a Congo line at Inverness, at the same time forever changing the substance of jelly and ice cream; a kind of transubstantiation, if you like.  This was no longer a sweet, it is nourishment for the ages.

Now the same newspaper has been authorised to run a story that there is doubt over this month’s payroll – would they dare suggest as much without authorisation?  When your friends are telling you they can hear the bell toll, you know where this is heading.

yes, you’d like to think that point would have been taken into account by those involved in discussions but it may also be the case that some clubs may not be able to say no unfortunately.

Yep. The share floatation granted £22M to Rangers International Football Club Plc. Which they then used to provide working capital to Rangers Football Club Ltd, who now owe them that money. (this is my understanding anyway).

Will admin process differ because its a parent company putting its subsidiary into admin?

ie as opposed to the oldclubs admin where there was a host of creditors?this time it is RIFC as major creditor(assuming newclub are hectorhappy unlike the old one)

should this admin in theory be a lot slicker? or as Donald Rumsfield would say we have to account for the unknown unknowns.

Older daughter is now in the Victoria. She has just been accepted on to a training programme, starting in August, that will confirm her being in the Glasgow area for a couple of years at least as she heads towards her immediate goal of becoming a consultant.

When she was in Wishie General she was well mentored by a very good CQNer:o)

WG was her first choice after graduation. She enjoyed her time there.

“Only CL income separates us at present.”

The Champions League income has been vital for Celtic and should we qualify for the group stages again next season that money will continue to keep out of sight for a considerable period of time.

But the idea that Sevco are going to reach the Premiership and quickly start challenging Celtic is media myth and wishful thing among Zombies.

It is not only CL income that keeps us apart from them. They have no idea who is running their new club, but whoever it is will milk the cash cow for as long as possible and will not toddle off without making serious money.

That is why King is unlikely to start investing. They are already a decade behind us. And every time we qualify for the CL or make a big profit on any of our players we pull further ahead of them.

And while our gates being down is not pleasing on the eye, they are not making any more money through attendences than Celtic. It costs a lot less to watch games at the level Sevco play at. The attendance figures are a red herring anyway.

But they do have similar costs to Celtic on a stadium which requires regular maintenance and a training complex that burns money.

If what we are hearing is true then the only way forward for is through a Voluntary liquidation, an admin event just wouldn’t work as the contracts with Sports Direct and Garrion Security etc would still be in place. So a quick in out liquidation event is what is needed here. It becomes interesting if one of the Creditors has a fixed charge over assets. Do we know if anyone has?

  12. The ruling by the court that the Charlotte Fakes material can be admitted as evidence is not of itself hugely significant. It would have been if it had been refused by the judge but allowing it doesn’t mean that he believes it.

Although evidence of information about a particular fact may be admissible, the court will not necessarily believe or act on that evidence.

For instance in a court the evidence of a credible witness to a fact or action is preferred to second hand evidence, something that the witness was told had happened by a witness to the fact. This is simply hearsay evidence.

Pat Nevin had the law professors running for their text books because he reported a crime (sectarian singing by the Celtic support) that the person reporting to him (Rob McLean) hadn’t even heard for himself but had been told by people outside.

As if that were not oblique enough Pat then told the Justice Committee that the people he never heard singing the unnamed songs as told to the man who never heard them (Rob McLean) has added on lyrics referring to the Provisional Wing…….

er…..I think I’ll have to lie down now Perfidious Pat’s got my head spinning.

What’s your opinion on what could happen if Sevco do go down the vol Liquidation route, could SPFL take the same stance as SFL did with Livingston in 2009?

“Sevco to go into Members Voluntary Liquidation

By end of the month. Have already seen the doc that by scots companies law has to be posted in the Edinburgh Gazette. Will leave them

Debt free and with Ibrox etc placed out of reach in the holding company. Explains why all those rules were changed last week and only paper to semi report it was the telegraph. Another stitch up on way. DSTM.”

    And………

“All private documents and proof that Murray, sfa, Whyte, green and duff n phelps were all in it together from outset has just been ruled admissible in a London court as the liquidators try to sue all of the above to get money back for the creditors. Media can no longer hide behind the ‘leveson’ enquiry excuse for not publishing it. Evidence that i’ve seen that the sfa and green and whyte had dinner 4 months before admin to work out a plan and find soln to get huns straight back into SPL together with excuse for giving them a licence three years ago when they were basically insolvent will all become public knowledge provided the media do their job and report it. The shampoo should truly be about to hit the fan. A lot of people in Scottish football including the press, referees and sfa hierarchy got brown trousers around half an hour ago. A programme made by Alex Thomson of Channel 4 which the police and lawyers blocked at last minute can now be shown. Super score board tonight should be interesting provided they allow folk on to talk about it. We SHOULD be about to find out how corrupt Scottish football is/ was .”

Yeah this is true but I expect its related to certain parts of Charlottes material in relation to this case

The fact that some of the material has been given the credibility of being admissible in court with no police objections bodes well for public airing of rest of Charlottes stuff.

Charlotte the ghost writer writings may soon be in print and not just apparitions on “rangers hating blogs”
