Am pretty sure I didn’t put your moniker to this

My post was more about Celtic fans thinking the title is gone while 3pts in front of their nearest challengers who have yet to lay a glove on them this season

If you think it was aimed at you, apologies.

Unless you do think the Huns are in a better place than us … I don

    ———-

Apology unnecessary – I accept unreservedly and in the spirit it is given – Hail Hail

Celtic is not in a good place at the moment, on, or, off the pitch. I feel that there is some recent preoccupation hanging over the club – we all hope it is extremely temporary.

However we are under self-inflicted and unusual pressure from the Ibrox outfit – it needn’t have been like this.

    Cheers

  2. I havent been on here since very early yesterday., and I did NOT see of the game obviously. However, I got the score updates from a family member.

Ive just started to read back this morning ( Sunday ) and I would like to say ” THANK YOU” to ALL on here for their good wishes…re My DA’s Funeral.

It was a very emotional day, but I took great heart from some of my Family members and their Funny stories of my DA. It was great to meet some of my Family members that I had not seen for many years.

I told a few stories and jokes also between the Tears.

My DA would always laugh and joke whenever he attended a Funeral. It was HIS WAY of dealing with grief.

I suppose I followed suit yesterday, as I tried to keep spirits ” UP” ….including my own.

I hope that my DA ( Wherever he is….LOL ?) was happy with the ” Send Off” he was given.

Just a pity about the Celtic score line.

Thanks to all for their kind comments.

    My DA…

You didnt walk alone…Big MAN !

  3. Good morning all from a stormy Garngad (not the local porn stars hoose) the place.

Well what a shit show that was.

Stats thi, stats that, we had 25 shots at goal.

5 shots on target, with stats like that we should be winn8ng games.

You know the ONLY stats that matters is goals scored right?

Our squad is severely depleted with injury and players that were brought in that are not good enough.

When that happens you believe players are better than what they are as we accept mediocrity.

It’s a simple rule in football that you try and upgrade every player. For example imo we have decent players for Scotland but if you want a pop at Europe then we need to upgrade.

Can all the guys that say no player wants to come play in Scotland give any examples of players who have been asked and knocked us back?

    D. :)

  4. Big Jimmy that’s good mate that the funeral went as well as can be expected.

    RIP the Original Big Jimmy.

    D. :)

  5. Well, that was the day that was.

Hopefully, we can have an open and honest exchange of views around the strength of the squad and any transfer strategy we may have.

Would like to think that Paul, and all others, refrain from name calling those who express any doubts or dissatisfaction.

  6. May God bless you and your family Jimmy and I will say a pray for your DA at mass this morning 🙏

And our team like I said last night also us supppoters the lifeblood of the club will need to do our bit to get us over the line and Brendan and his coaches will need improve the playing squad.

  7. Why has Mark Lawwell not been sacked.

3 disastrous transfer windows. Summer one cost the club £20M ; now trying to offload the players he wasted the club’s money on. I reckon the return will be very very low in fees, less than £5m.

How come such a failure is still at the club ? I suppose it makes you wonder who appointed the rookie.

Its a mystery. Nobody knows anything and taking responsibility to do the right thing.

Keeping him in place is a sign to all at club is that failure is accepted and rewarded. Why should anyone else go the extra mile when this is what happens to the chosen few.

    This is what nepotism does.

  8. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Noticed a few posts about Miovski – presumably the data didn’t flag him up as a possible signing target.

Then again, if it’s the same data that said Palma could replace Jota I think I would be going somewhere else for my data……..

  9. lets all do the huddle on

to be honest any discussions on the strength of our squad or our signing strategy are a bit irrelevant now.

we are stuck with what we currently have until the summer transfer window slams open.

might as well channel our efforts into supporting the team.

and also trying to rid the club of the greed, incompetence and nepotism that is dragging us down.

  10. There’s a simple reason we are poor this season -injuries to quality players: Maiden, CCV, Hatate (abada to a lesser extent)

-we rely on these to be better than the spfl

-the recruitment model, by definition can’t replace quality. The model has in it – buy players who are not yet ready but who we feel will become good when surrounded by quality players.

    – if the quality players return from injury, we win the league.

-if they don’t come back, we might win it.

-It’s a horrendous comment on the spfl that there isn’t another team miles ahead of us already.

BR’s never going to be good with a mixed up squad full of fill ins.

Ghod help us if we do make the CL next season.

  11. Good Morning Celts, Grand Day To Be A Tim

Glad you had your day to say farewell to your Dad, a very tough gig…

It was a very good match, for the neutral yesterday, like they exist, certainly not in black, it was a game of two halves unfortunately for us.

Few of our players covered themselves in glory, yet Joe Hart had a rare opporchancity to show what he excels at.

Although subs are a rare choice, for Jobo’s POTY – Kuhn looked the real deal, and his goal seals a vote.

Not another standout, that’s for sure, so Liam gets the nod for doing exactly what it says on the tin…

So winging it’s way to SENCELPOTY@GMAIL.COM

  13. SPIKEYSAULDMAN

Apologies for introducing the Rugby chat……

There wasn’t much left to discuss (unless to rant or start an arguement) about the game.

Anyhoo , the floor is yours big chap ……

Why has Mark Lawwell not been sacked.

    ….

    Of course it’s his fault.

  15. Maestro – I get paranoid every now and then – the way the season is panning out – you’d be forgiven for thinking they wanted you know who to get into a lucrative CL to give them a financial shot in the arm.

  16. We always self destruct on the park from a position of strength it is the Celtic Way.

Or Jackie the cynic in you says it is planned.

You’d need to be a loonatic to think the above , still plenty of useful idiots around

  18. Rock Vata ,Daniel Kelly ,Mitchel Frame ,them young players need to get more game time ,I’m pretty sure if Vata came on in say 60 minutes he would have got us the 3 points, also try young Frame at left back at Easter Road this Wednesday.

There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics”.

We’ve been told the data says Rocki will be signed by a top EPL club. Well, my eyes tell me he won’t. He was absolutely roasted for that Aberdeen goal (still think he’s a decent player though).

The data says Palma would be a good replacement for Jota. No he’s not. My eyes tell me he’s a show pony. A lazy one at that (someone made a good comparison to Elyanoussi yesterday).

Here’s another one for you: “facts are stubborn, statistics are more pliable”.

Normally your eyes don’t deceive you and my eyes tell me the recruitment has been absolutely appalling.

Anthony Haggerty using the language of sabotage this morning.

I’m not sure Rodgers will make it to the end of the season.

    Job done.

PS Bernardo unfairly maligned for the Dons goal yesterday. He showed Bernabei where to play the pass and Bernabei typically played a poor pass that sold Bernardo short and was then himself miles out of position for the counter attack. Bernabei typical of our dire recruitment in the past 18 months.

Agree that Palma is all show and little substance. He is capable of great moments, but clouded by consistent mediocrity.

I would give Vata a run in the team. He looks capable of beating a player, unlike Palma or Abada.

  22. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Oh, and we’ve also been told the list of summer signings was drawn up before BR arrived, but he was in control for this window.

    I don’t doubt that for a minute.

In fact it makes perfect sense.

He didn’t want to put his name to more Yang’s, Oh’s and Bernabei’s.

  23. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

    EK Bhoy

I’ve said from day 1 that if you’re bringing your boy in as Head of Recruitment he better be good. If he’s not good or plain unlucky then you’re painting a huge target on his back.

Nepotism always comes from a place of arrogance and contempt, qualities Lawwell Snr has in spades.

  24. Only the most deluded would ignore the fact the momentum is with Sevco. On the verge of clawing back an 8 point deficit, fewer points dropped since Clement came in and could be top by the next time we play.

Rodgers is our manager and these are our players. That won’t change until the summer at least but something drastic needs to happen.

I’m thinking back to when Lennon turned a losing title race into a winning one by stumbling onto a new formation. Maybe Rodgers needs to shake things up.

I don’t have the answers as I’m not a highly paid coach but could it be 3-5-2? Make our full-backs’ defensive issues less of a worry and play in the opponents half; get some support for the isolated Kyogo….

I don’t know but currently, this isn’t working and saying things like “keep the faith” doesn’t win titles.

Rodgers is the most highly paid manager in our history. Now is the time to earn it.

  25. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

He changed it up yesterday by playing 2 up front and it turned in to a game of “basketball”.

  26. Perfect storm.

Arrogant, inflexible manager; disinterested board and utterly incompetent head of Scouting and Recruitment (I, sadly, nearly laugh when I type that).

Shocking shower of puppets who gave their pal’s son such an important gig.

And, before any happy clappers quote Ange, he only said what he was asked to, to steer the obvious questions away from nepotism.

Still waiting for an answer on what qualified Matk Lawwell for the job.

    Go on, tell us.

    What about it?

    Sabotage?

It was they themselves that decided to bring back the manager.

    Lazy appointment yet again.

  29. Peterlatchfordsbelly,

Agreed. Lawwell’s arrogance has got us here. Removing Mark Lawwell from role is an easy one — he will never be trusted with the clubs money again by DD or the fans.

Michael Nicholson needs to go to. He has done nothing off note — not even fixing the Wifi. The invisible man.

Rodgers will leave by end of season latest.

We got lucky with Ange — it all changed when Peter Lawwell returned. The toxic chairman has taken nepotism to a new level.

He should resign before his son is removed from office.

20 million reasons why this should happen —- ASAP.

  30. And, while he’s at it, he could write an article explaining what each of the board members does to earn their salaries and/or position.

    Won’t hold my breath.

    Perfect storm.

Used the phrase myself a number of times on here.

Drop points on Wednesday and fail to progress in the cup – just wait and see…

To be honest, maybe it’s just what we need for real changes to take place.

The club is rotten from the top down .

The board got lucky with Ange, think their luck is just about to run out.
