    Nicholson got the gig precisely to be invisible. We brought in fresh blood and he got his p45 after a few months. Supposedly because he messed up the contracts on a few players – very good players who contributed a lot and left for a profit. So whose head will role for the window we seen last summer?

    Ange was very supportive of Mark but in the murky waters of professional football what can any of us believe

     

     

    I take your point re nepotism , never a great look considering the not too distant past of the club.

     

     

    For me some of the signings point to a collective failure at the club , so for me it’s a people and process failure.

     

     

    I’ve seen more professional football games than Mark Lawwell and I could tell you after 10 mins big Gus looked slow and young Tillo was in the wrong movie. As examples , how can these buys be sanctioned by the professionals that understand football, did our manager just let them through on the nod.

     

     

    It’s hard work all this modern football stuff , data analysis god knows what else but for me we need a clear vision from the manager how we want to play and to get experience into the team.

     

     

    Ange managed it. Still can’t quite understand how a new manager was appointed but with no idea / strong view of exactly who we should go after ?

    Sorry, Darwin, but you need to lift your head up. The huns have one trophy won, cut an 8 point lead and have European football post Christmas – they’re clearly in a better place than us right now.

     

     

    Our support are rightly livid over our transfer strategy and we’re one or two more bad results from seeing large scale protests imo.

    Replacing Jota was going to be a difficult task, however last season we brought in Haksabanovich who played left side right footed little pace he jinks but cut in with an occasional finish,sent on loan to Stoke, this season its Palma doing the exact same things as Haksabanovich and about as effective, Mikey johnston also plays the same way, Celtic is so predictable in how we play and the midfield is not right with 3 unwilling to break lines and in turnovers we cannot break up play, we desperately lack pace and physicality, big Maik looked awkward and slow until he got tired, we have problems in how we play the game and what the outcome is meant to be , we look frightened to play off the cuff on instinct they are professional footballers who should have more than basic game intelligence, we need to get out of this malaise by being aggressive in what we do, have purpose all over the park or we will lose everything this year if it continues like this.

    The new manager was appointed by Desmond with absolutely no consideration given as to how his style or tactics differed from our previous manager.

     

     

    I’m sure Desmond had or has no interest or knowledge about our footballing philosophy.

     

     

    Also no consideration was taken about the fact that Rodgers shafted us big time.

     

     

    An appointment that showed complete contempt for the club and it’s supporters.

    there has to changes for the next game , far too many prima donnas in the team , Kyogo has to be dropped from the starting 11 if we continue with the same boring BR tactics .

     

    wingers Palma and abada failing to go outside and get to byline

     

    fullback Aj is a very poor player , AR at left back gies a break , in fact the back 4 needs to be replace , they cant defend but happy to pass between themselves when under no pressure but when attacked a different story ,panic merchants,

     

    we are in a dark place spiralling downwards .

    We should see a few changes for Hibs. Abada for Kuhn. Welsh for Nawrocki. Left back is a big problem for which there are no good outcomes in the absence of Taylor. I’d be tempted to drop Palma for Maeda as he will provide more cover for our stand in LB.

     

     

    We need to see MoR and Bernado getting back to their new year form ASAP.

    Kyogo is suffering from the tactics employed by the manager. You can see his runs are still being made but no one having the “bravery” to seek him out. Palma and Abada do not try to get to the byline for a cut back. How many goals has he scored when this tactic is employed?

    Just so the happy clappers are clear: net spend of zero, in the last transfer window; an inflexible manager; an incompetent and disinterest board and a joke head of recruitment.

     

     

    Oh, and we have to play with what Lawwell mini presented us.

     

     

    That wee banner was just the start.

     

     

    Can’t wait till the next home game.

     

     

    Wonder how many of the board will be golfing that day.

    RC- I agree with previous guy,we need a change of formation, we might have stumbled into 3-5-2,we have no LB,play Idah and Kyogo up front we are very predictable in current set up,will Brendan be brave enough to change it though?

    even bog standard basic things like getting wingers to change wing to be playing on the natural side against a different defender during periods of the game never happens , every throw-in we get a defender falls back to receive the ball for it to be recycled to JH , no imagination just rinse and repeat , rinse and repeat , everyone and their granny knows how we set up and they all play the same set-up against us to good effect , we are slow and deliberate and I don’t see this changing any time soon .

    He’ll be concerned by how fragile we look at the back when we go two up. Rugby Park and Pittodrie we went two up and looked to be scrambling every time the opposition won the ball back.

    I’d say I fall more into the happy clappers section than the bedwetters if I was to align myself but if I hear Brendan speak about a lack of energy/drive etc again I may have to reconsider. Its his job to recognise what is and isn’t working but this same old end of game summary is becoming tiresome.

     

     

    We are in a fight for the league, we’ve not lost it yet so time to get things sorted, pronto

    We started the season level with Newco . We start the second half of the season level with Newco . I offer as an excuse the terrible luck we have had with injuries so far . Yesterday we should have gone in 3 goals up . The second half was a different game , we completely fell out of it as we did last week against Ross county . What went wrong I don’t have a clue , we have a good midfield who went missing yesterday Second half , until the new winger came on we struggled to get crosses over . And sadly to be honest our defence needs a shake up , I am not going into our transfer window less to say we spent it trying to clear our the poor buys from our last transfer windows , Still we’re not done yet still a lot of football to play . HH

    I’d be very reluctant to go to a back 3 at the moment, not least because it’s a fundamental change at this time of the season. I’d be reluctant to change the back 4 at all by having said that for me Welshy for Scales on Wednesday.

     

     

    Forward line needs to take the blame so I’d change the lot of them , team for Wednesday

    Our head of recruitment had two windows with Ange and now has had two windows with Brendan.

     

     

    Ange’s team was poorer after the January 2023, window and the malaise started then.

     

     

    Our subsequent windows have seen the team get even weaker.

     

     

    Whether it’s the strategy, personnel or a bit of both, as I believe.

     

     

    It is very obvious our recruitment isn’t working.

     

     

    Brendan Rodgers has asked for a change in approach and it’s much fairer to give Brendan and his staff a chance with that signing strategy in the summer than Mark gets another chance with a third manager

     

     

    What if things were equally poor, or even worse, then where would we be!?

     

     

    It is a crucial time for all aspiring Clubs in European terms and we must start getting better across the board…

    Why would you change to a back 3 when we currently play with a back 2?

     

     

    What benefits do you expect to enjoy by having another player positioned behind the ball, playing against clubs that don’t play any more than 1 up front?

     

     

    (We currently set up 2-5-3 in my view)

    We’re still in the Valley of Despair following dropped points and the only thing that gets us out of that is picking up 3 points regularly and winning our cup ties.

     

     

    Nothing else matters, we can call for the sacking of whoever, once a league is won, or lost. Otherwise, it is just contributing to the sabotage.

     

     

    For what its worth, and I am not confident anyone will buy it, I thought our first half performance yesterday was among the best we’ve seen. On the front foot, constantly pressing, moving the ball forward quickly, taking plenty of shots and creating good chances. All that was missing was a goal (and yes, obviously, that is a big missing end product). But I stand by the view that the first half was very good.

     

     

    The 2nd half however, was like our recent European ventures, At the first sign of setback (an early Aberdeen goal) we lost confidence and went to pieces. We were wide open on the counter attack. Our own attacks became more desperate and that created more counter attack opportunities. Brendan’s subs were among our better 2nd half performers but could anybody tell me what system we were playing? Certainly Antony Ralston did not play the LB position like Bernabei (who had his best 45 minutes in a Celtic jersey but remains a reliable creator of opposition counter attacks).

     

     

    At times this season, we have been carried by Matt O’Riley, Liam Scales, CCV and Callum McGregor. Players like Palma and Kyogo and Bernardo have provided some icing on the cake but have not been dominant. The only one who carried us yesterday was Joe Hart. Our keepers usually only get to be heroes in Euro matches.

     

     

    It is the collapse of confidence that worries me but our team energy was much better than the Ross County win.

     

     

    This was our first setback in 7 games. That is all.

     

     

    It does not define the outcome of the league nor does it leave us in a strong position. We are likely to be level with the huns soon. They have a winning momentum too- just as we had till Pittodrie. We are not beyond getting it back but we are going to have to think hard about how to include Idah and Kuhn into this 4:3:3 formation.

     

     

    And think even harder about who takes our next penalty.

     

     

    Wednesday night is our next test. I suspect we will be level on points with the Ibrox mob by then as they play on Tuesday. So Brendan and the player need to make yesterday’s first half form last longer, at least till we’re two goals up.

     

     

    I still believe we will do it but it’s just become a bit squeakier in a rear facing orifice.

    In stating that we set up 4:3:3, I am not disagreeing that we end up as 2:5:3 as TBB says.

     

     

    When we’re on the attack, our full backs are definitely midfielders. And, as they don’t alwau=ys get back in time or have cover provided by a winger, we are often 2 at the back.

     

     

    We have conceded almost 50% more goals than Sevco in this league so far, 16 to their 11

    I have long been an advocate of P67 questioning,dissenting anything our board do as far as their short,med and long term plans for the club,but no dissent shown at all.A handy little chatel imo,but its his blog.his right to do it,hence lately its all Brendans fault,nonsense imo.we are one Celtic and if it goes wrong for BR a link is loose along the chain.

     

     

    Interim figures out in next few weeks so cash balances mentioned can be adjusted to fact.
