    VB-Celtic are not united.

AT – What would you do to unite Celtic?

VB-The board and management have different ambitions than the support.

AT- What in your opinion are those different ambitions VB?

-Mine is to have future generations enjoy Celtic, this is important to me,after 1994,

If ever we meet(Championship day:-)) for a beer i will explain why that is important to me,continuous since 6thNov1887 and then became so close to becoming a memory,a 3rd Lanark in 1994

VB-I’ll repeat what I said last year, I have nothing in common with this board, I don’t think all of them are Celtic supporters.

AT- Thats fine to think that VB,but it is wrong thinkin buddy, shaping how you feel bout someone/have in common with them based on whether you deem them Celtic supporters,

i will speak for the 2 i know.

PL i was at both primary&secondary and i knew of him in professional circles, never met, tho i was in London,he up here.He travelled to games as a student on the GU and WillieONeil bus that used to be based around George Square

He was at the Ajax away game early 80s 2-1 game according to late Cqn’r Garry Duncan rip(Delaneys Duncan) He is a Celtic fan,no doubt

Chris Mackay, went to same primary and secondary a few years after i left, his wee ma still goes to 9.30mass on sunday, his father no longer witb us,He travelled often on wee Henrys bus – Carnwardric Csc.He too, is a Celtic fan no doubt of that.

I can only speak for those 2 Vale Bhoy

Michael Nicholson i would suggest is also, tho i havent met him

The difference being ValeBhoy you and i can argue the piece over anythin Celtic, from youth, thro to last saturdays game, tfer policy, board make up,activity or lack of

(am talkin shoite-naw your talkin shoite:-) too’ing and fro’ing and we can do that, they however have the short, medium and longterm planning responsibility to make my wish-a Celtic for future generations- is navigated to,ensuring we go on,we are fans, they are too,but with full responsibility that the likes of banking crisis, rivals self harming2012,Covid etc we glide over

If we win a trophy that is a bonus, not a right as the folk who gave me Celtic as a boy had their reward in Lisbon after many dry years/decades.

I think B2B meant unite behind the team now,as tfer windae is shut

All the best Valebhoy, keep questioning, you only need to see what happens along the river when you dont

  2. CHAIRBHOY on 4TH FEBRUARY 2024 11:25 PM

    SFtBs # 10:02 PM,

    Very goid points, well made.

For me Brian Quinn, Lord Reid, Ian Bankier and Peter Lawwell have all been different in the Chairman role.

The Chairman, even if a NED, does not have to be passive to fulfill his role, as some suggest, quite the opposite I’d suggest.

    Hail Hail

    —————

Firstly, I enjoy the ” historic” debates between yourself ( Chairbhoy ) and SFTB.. They are normally informative and respectful .

They are in the best diverse tradition of CQN.

Secondly I am not sure about all the chairmen listed being Neds, but I had a good conversation with John Reid years ago when my daughter was the mascot.

Dead easy to talk to and very down to earth considering the very senior government positions he aspired to. Not at all passive. Hypothetically i can easily imagine John Reid if provoked sticking the heid on someone in a boozer, but as for the others , I will take your word that they are also Neds.

    😆👍

    Hail, hail.

  3. Good morning all from a still very windy Garngad.

What or who decides who is a NED?

Guys get a grip, listen to yourselves.

Am I a Ned because we bought a house in a regenerated housing scheme? But someone isn’t because live in Bishopbriggs ffs the more affluent area the more criminals live there.

A young person who sometimes acts in a violent or criminal way.

Awe right I see it’s a class thing.

It has to be right? As the biggest criminals in this country/UK are well educated private school politicians, lawyers, criminal justice system, running Scottish football, police, I could go on.

So do me a favour our board are all crooks time to trysomething different.

    D. :)

  4. David 66,

Chill. It was tongue and cheek.

NED ( Non Executive Director )

    HH.

  5. An Tearmann,

    Thanks for your comments.

I’ll take your word for it.

However, I’m still not convinced about some of those board members. Charlatans.

I’m still waiting on a more intelligent poster sending me their remits.

    We’ll see.

You and I would have buried the hun and enjoyed a pint over it. Not our board.

And, BTW, Lawwell may be a true Celtic fan but that’s always second to his own self-aggrandisement.

  6. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Vale Bhoy – just how would you have gone about burying “the Hun”?

As for remit of individual board members?

    Honest answer : I don’t know.

Collective remit : Lead the organisation ensuring all functions contribute to success.

Definition of success : win stuff, don’t lose money.

The club with “momentum” has a dreadful track record on both.

    Whereas ours is pretty impressive.

PS – is the above all (or even mostly) down to the board?

    Of course not.

  7. Seen Aberdeen’s goal on twitter again for the first time since the game. My goodness we were a shambles. There’s at least 4 players that could have prevented the goal. We badly need CCV back but there’s huge doubts now over his reliability.

  8. AN DUN ,The Aberdeen striker was allowed to run at our defence,Big Rocky was the culprit he should have stopped him in his tracks,it’ll be interesting to see the starting eleven on Wednesday,

  9. Folks …just read there are plans to re vamp the Estadio Nacional …having visited the stadium last year and being humbled and absolutely overwhelmed by the experience I would implore those that are able ( financially and otherwise ) to make this trip before this happens ..there is a magic there verging on spiritual 🍀💚

  10. Ps …maybe some of our board members could also do so ….and listen to the ghosts telling them what WE were , are and should ALWAYS be 💚🍀

  11. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

I await P67’s blog with baited breath. We’ve seen this movie before where he sees the writing on the wall and it becomes all about framing blame. Gonna be a tough read for Brendan I suspect.

  12. At least the board are consistent. They aren’t backing brendan and they didn’t back the manager of the women’s team. Will brendan follow fran out the door?

Ps …maybe some of our board members could also do so ….and listen to the ghosts telling them what WE were , are and should ALWAYS be 💚🍀

    ZACTLY.

  14. You can tell there is nothing postive to report when the official club website is dominated by the women’s team result, well done to the ladies team but cmon

  15. Lets wait and see the interim figures and how the stockpiling of cash is spun, maybe bin colection charges are going through the roof or we are keeping it to give to Westminster in corporation tax as McKay boasted about in the AGM videos.
