Haven’t seen any of the game yesterday and comments on here make it difficult to judge the game.
Some saying an exciting game with Celtic playing well in phases, while others saying we were very poor etc.
Both views are entirely valid as I can disagree with my son’s when sitting together watching the same game.
It’s all good for the blog and long may it continue.
Vale officially relegated to Div 2 yesterday – that’s Div 4 in old money 😭
Off to North Wales later for a couple of days in the caravan, first time this year.

Morning folks
Good to be in another final.
Interesting game yesterday, just couldn’t get that extra goal to finish the game off.
Thought they had an interesting ploy when they needed a goal near the end of extra time leaving three men on halfway line when we had a corner, probably the smaller players on the park. Not only does it take four of our bigger Centre backs out of the box that have a chance of getting on the end of things but also gives them a chance of a quick break.
Don’t know why more teams don’t try this ?

The hun don’t go near Victoria Road when they are polluting Hampden. You can smell the canutes though, just like a passing orange band. Takes a 1000 gallons of industrial fabreze to get rid of the stench.

I am always happy to hear/read of Good Tims beating the Bookie.
I had backed the Horse ” MACDERMOTT” on a few different lines over the last few weeks, and I STILL have a few Bets which include ” MacDermott” with other Horses in this years DERBY and 1,000 GUINEAS Races still to come.
I also backed ” MACDERMOTT” in Two Single Bets on Friday, but I did NOT get the odds of 18/1. It drifted badly in the Betting before the OFF, which was probably due to the Horse ONLY being a ” NOVICE” and some heavy betting on one or two other Horses in the run up to the Race.
I hope that YOU and the Family are all fit and healthy.
Please tell ” WEE INDIE” that I was asking for her.
Cheers Mate and HH.

Bang on, there are a number of posters who fail to grasp the concept of a blog!
Anyone who thinks Taylor, Yang and in particular Scales were decent was watching a different game. There are better alternatives for Yang/Scales however the winter window failed to find a alternative LB, so the wee man stays.
James Forrest should be given a new Contract….Brendan was CORRECT when he claimed that Wee Jamesy was the BEST Winger at Celtic.
James Forrest SHOULD be used more often.

I think JF was subbed in order to get another centre-half on as Aberdeen had resorted to shelling long balls in to our box.
Of course no sooner had Narowki come on when Scales was done again at the back post in a carbon copy goal Aberdeen scored to make it 2-2.
Anyone else notice that nearly every team we face doesn’t press him and allows him all the time in the world on the ball? Anyone else notice most of our opponents like to shell long balls down our left channel?
Wonder why that is 🤔

Btw…I’m happy for Joe Hart to take a penalty anytime. He was unlucky yesterday…
Apart from Joes Penalty miss yesterday, our Bhoys did very well with our Penalties…for a wee change.

Does not suggest standards falling but for some with bitter malcontent agendas nothing will be good enough.”
I don`t think posters have an `agenda` .
A combination of the tendency to view the past more positively than we do the present, the influence of Scotland`s preference for Sevco and our sometimes desperate desire to shove it in their collective face can make it difficult to be positive about our team.

6 more wins ( no matter how achieved ) and we’ll be double winners .
If the hun make the final and it goes to pens , they only have one taker and he cannae take them aw…😀
Would Ralston have been a better option late sub to see the game out ?
The third goal was when we had 3 centre halves on.
The ball was in the air for an eternity and we still couldn’t win it…
But we march on. ..☘

I agree. I accept that any missed penalty cannot be seen as a `good` penalty but Joe`s certainly wasn`t terrible. Just a couple of inches off being excellent ( IMO , of course).

Just to be clear, in my 10:26 am post, `their collective face` does NOT refer to our team but to all the anti-Celtic bodies in Scotland.

Only a few weeks ago some asked why didn’t our manager put on another defender with minutes to go at ibrokes when we leading remember.
I haven’t read back but I presume there was a lot of criticism of Yang and Scales. Imo, both were poor yesterday. I may well be wrong but I think Yang has lost any confidence he had-maybe Tynecastle has had a really lasting effect on him.
Anyway, on to the double.
The deid team are, hopefully, falling apart and Hearts are Hearts; so, I don’t really care who wins this afternoon.

The way I see it is that if your starting point is hate the Board, and contempt for all those responsible for running Celtic FC, (and for some this includes the manager) then you are never ever going to be happy with where we are. Which is top of the SPL and in a Scottish Cup Final to be played on May 25, a key date in our history. Some found yesterday’s game a grim watch, others, myself included found it a gripping match.
The first trick in defending crosses is to stop them at source. Not blaming A.J. but both came from his wing.
Second point, they were outstanding crosses & were difficult to defend.
Sometimes whilst berating our own players we need to acknowledge good play from our opponents.
Having said that I absolutely accept we urgently need to strengthen our defense for next year.
Scales was outstanding early Season and was actually leading Jobo’s Player of the Year , However he appears to have lost form & confidence, Nawrocki & Lagerbiele haven’t made the expected breakthrough this year. 6 critical games ahead no room for experimenting, what to do?
Start Nawrocki ? Change shape, play 5 in the middle, if we change now and it goes tits up, you can imagine the furore, if we don’t and it goes tits up imagine the same.
I expect Brendan will keep the status quo to see out Season but will make big changes for next year.
I would start Nawrocki. He played well against St Mirren.

Parkhead, I don’t disagree but it’s a big call and as I said I expect Brendan to stick with CCV & Scales.

The way we are a little conflicted by the performance yesterday is what makes us Celtic supporters, yes we desperately want to win but for reasons others have mentioned we feel we need to win with style.
Personally, I’ll take the win and move on. The areas that were exposed yesterday are the same ones the whole season long, so people are right to be concerned. Whether it costs us in the league remains to be seen , I’m glad we have a cushion.
