James McPake’s absence tomorrow will be a blow to Hibs and a significant boost to Celtic. Hibs are short on cover in all areas and McPake, their captain, is an instrumental component in their defence. Celtic are without the suspended Victor Wanyama but they are far better provisioned all over the field, especially in central midfield.
Do you remember the good old days when a football club would be able to spin a load of old tosh to the media, who would report to an incredulous public? This is far more difficult in the multi-channel internet age.
The BBC yesterday reported the headline “Former chief executive Charles Green is cleared of having close links with former Rangers owner Craig Whyte”, although the article itself proclaims a less ambitious “will be cleared”.
All fine and good, but I scoured several articles on this subject for mention as to whether or not the Rangers International internal investigation considered evidence from both sides – the key fact in this story, but one which was missing from reports. Fortunately an Internet Bampot stepped in to help all those in the media. I’m away to check all the updated reports reflecting the new information……
Willie Wallace will be signing copies of his autobiography from 2pm until 4pm at Waterstones on Sauchiehall St. Get your Cup Final weekend off to a Lisbon Anniversary start!

That is just a normal day in Coatbridge. :0)
Well after a month or so on the sidelines with pleurisy, today I will venture out for a few bevvies with my brother. The Station Bar in Helensburgh will be our location and I’m sure it will be standing room only. Here’s hoping the bhoys score a barrowload and stuff it right up the SFA
OK, preparations for this afternoon’s game are now complete.
All I’m missing is the phone call from the wonderful fella who has a couple of tickets for me and the youngster.
I’m here, where ever and whoever you are!
Off topic for the moment from the topic in hand which us a thorough doing of the Hibees. Just a wee thought on the Huns ongoing “investigation”
Until this was announced I had never heard the term “forensic accountants” but the SMSM all tell us that this is what Deloitte’s are and what they do.
Apparently Deloitte’s themselves don’t know this.
On their website they advertise many services.
“Forensic” accounting and analysis is not on their offered services so just where did the SMSM pick up this term?
We’d like you to take a photograph on your smart phone of your group today at Hampden and email it to celticquicknews@gmail.com – will make a great feature in the next CQN Magazine out in around a week’s time. Let’s get you Byoys and Ghirls in the magazine!
Enjoy today. Willie Wallace said we’ll win 3-1

Yip there’s been several strange and remarkable phenomenon. Try this one: Rangers’ Independent Inquiry.
Lets hope Wispy is right!
Lets make some noise for The Battered Bunnets

I was thinking more about Mandzukic, for me he was well offside at the start of the action – and I don’t see how he can’t be interfering with play if he was there to tap it home.
The richer team wins again, and will be even richer at the start of next season’s campaign – such is fitba’ nowadays.
Not looking for any favours today, and don’t want any.
If the ref goes unnoticed today he will have done a good job.
Enjoy the game!
Just about to head to hampden
Hibs 1 … Celtic 3
James Forrest must start. If he breaks down then we can sub him. If we bring him on in desperation to rescue the game and he breaks down then there may be no subs left.
And if he remains fit for the greater part of the game he will be the one who will provide for Hooper – as will commons.
The Fatalists will be out in force on here tonight if we don’t win.
Come on Celtic – make it another double.

ekm, Is there a big mad Celt called Ian who drinks in there? Used to sit beside him in the North Stand upper 408 in the early days, mad as a hatter, met him in NYC on St Patricks day a few years back.

Typically about 3 mins before the pre-match warm up is complete, the sprinklers are put on at the Celtic end. This IMO has disadvantaged us as it nulified the warm up.
One piece of advice to Lenny, before going on the pitch for the warm up tell the players to leave the field immediately the sprinklers start, retain the heat already made.
Well had Mass at 11, bought a Happy Meal in McDonalds for grand-daughter (reward for being good at Mass), back in the gaffe now, trying to relax. Thought logging on and talking to like minded spirits would calm me. Opposite effect, the more I read the more nervous I’m getting.
HH
things we take for granted…
I can WALK to Hampden !
Afternoon,all.
I hope everyone enjoys the match,a wee repeat of 72 will do me nicely.
Just for the reaction from Nevin and his hunnish pals.
Offski,curer-or curare-calls….
Right, time to get this show on the road.
Have a memorable afternoon everybody.

This is funny (no way round linking to the DR I’m afraid)

sixtaeseven, good points. And Bayern with new manager Guardiola along with Götze and possibly Lewandowski will be even more formidable. Hope you enjoy today’s game too. HH.
Good morning from a sultry Sandyhills. Got a 1st date today and she will be watching the Tic. Either that or there won’t be a 2nd!
Stay safe and enjoy the game.

There are a couple of guys by that name who drink in there both are mad and big hoop fans. I’ll prob see them at some point today and will ask which one went to NYC
Is this the first time the Scottish cup has been contested by two Irish managers??
Sipsini @ 11:49
Ask Evan if he remembers Anthony, the roofer, from the Paisley job…..he’s a top man, I could listen to him all day. Ask him about Bertie and the square sausage incident and tell him I’m asking for him and Stevie.
Hail Hail happy hoopy cup final day
My nerves are playing havoc with me now. Is it time to hit the hard stuff?
Rough as toast today. Need a cup win to help the hangover

Thanks, Cannot remember his second name, Ian Mathieson ….maybe, used to get his season book when he could not make it to the game, Also seen him about 4 years back when I was working in Helensburgh he was out walking with his young son.
If you do suss him out tell him James from Port Glasgow was asking for him.

Pod 1, Ah, a first date, that brings me back half a century. Best of luck pal hope both you and Hooper score today.
One down on my mythical treble.
Depending on Celtic and Donegal to give me a special double.
thomthethim, What happened Ian Paisley didn’t oblige.
Hello?
Is it me you’re looking for?
LionelCSC (sans tickets)
Lustig 7/1 to score in the final is a very good bet – says someone who very rarely bets.

Down here in sunny Carlisle do not know whether to watch on TV or go to the pub. Have a great day Tims all over the world.
“If you aren’t nervous, then you aren’t paying attention-Miles Davis”
C’mon Celts an early goal to settle the nerves..
