Age of the Bampots, McPake and cover for Victor

1008

James McPake’s absence tomorrow will be a blow to Hibs and a significant boost to Celtic.  Hibs are short on cover in all areas and McPake, their captain, is an instrumental component in their defence.  Celtic are without the suspended Victor Wanyama but they are far better provisioned all over the field, especially in central midfield.

Do you remember the good old days when a football club would be able to spin a load of old tosh to the media, who would report to an incredulous public?  This is far more difficult in the multi-channel internet age.

The BBC yesterday reported the headline “Former chief executive Charles Green is cleared of having close links with former Rangers owner Craig Whyte”, although the article itself proclaims a less ambitious “will be cleared”.

All fine and good, but I scoured several articles on this subject for mention as to whether or not the Rangers International internal investigation considered evidence from both sides – the key fact in this story, but one which was missing from reports.  Fortunately an Internet Bampot stepped in to help all those in the media.  I’m away to check all the updated reports reflecting the new information……

Willie Wallace will be signing copies of his autobiography from 2pm until 4pm at Waterstones on Sauchiehall St.  Get your Cup Final weekend off to a Lisbon Anniversary start!

  2. Morning all

Must be nervous as can only face toast and marmalade this morning. Seen us lose too many finals to supposedly inferior teams to go along with the we’ll take four off them brigade. If we play well we should win though.

Team. Forrest, Lustig, Wilson, Mulgrew, Izzaguirre, Forrest, Brown, Ledley, Commons, Stokes, Hooper. Much prefer Charlie in defence and much as I like Sami I like Stokes and Hooper against the Hibs. He’s not a bad guy to bring off the bench I’d have thunk.

Hope it’s a cracker and that we win to seal a fine season.

I think what you showed will be the team NL picks, althogh he will be tempted with Forrest.

Me,I would move Mulgrew back,Ambrose out,and play Watt instead of Hooper.

As stated previously I want to win irrespective who plays, too many years listening to what a great game it was only because we lost.

Playing 2 positions at the 1 time ? Thumbs up.

Best of luck today Celtic.Sock it to them today.

Watching in the pub with my mates here on the CB.

    Hail Hail.

  16. The only worry I have today is the SFA ref and linesmen (all 4 of them).

Am I the only one to think that in last night’s CL final the first goal was offside and Bayern could have had two reds?

The ref can have a disproportionate role to play in any final, and Gollum is a precious wee baskit.

  19. Had the cricket on there and that kiwi git Ian Smith said he couldn’t wear green and white trousers on the golf course as they would be ‘too Celtic-ey’ I am glad to say that in the visitors book of the New Zealand Sporting Hall of Fame in Dunedin there is an entry which reads

Why the hell is that tw’t Smith done to be in the hall of fame?

  22. God Bless The Celtic and everyone going to the game today, enjoy it Bhoys and Ghirls, wish I wis wie ye’s…

“Look at them Jim. Thats what’s special about them. They’re there and they’re always there. God bless every wan of them” . . Tommy Burns

  23. sixtaeseven, My first thought was that Robben was offside at the first goal, the replay shows it was a tight decision. But it’s clear they could have had 2 red cards, which would have changed the game. The only thing I’m nervous about in this afternoon’s game is the ref.
