It’s a lot easier to improve a bad team than a treble winning team, but Brendan Rodgers has the latter challenge ahead this summer. One of his principle objectives will be to retain Stuart Armstrong on a new deal. As CQN reported this morning, good progress has been made on that front.
Loving the updates from the Celtic FC Foundation delegation, currently in Malawi with Mary’s Meals. You can follow the remarkable updates from LeftyBhoy here.
This work is being done in your name, with funds you helped raise. Keep an eye on what is being achieved.
Just landed for two days R&R in Belfast. Not been since the mid-90s……….. Off to find a pub and some rich culture…… Recommendations welcome but no messing!!!

No harm done!
I will be in Stonehaven this weekend for the Summer Beer Festival.
Last year there was 125 guest ales, so it shouldn’t take long before I’ve gotten over missing the Hootenanny!
Enjoy your weekend in great company!

I cannot remember but I do have the Goatskin Vellum edition of 26 May 1967 in which several contributors suggested a boycott of the team’s return to Celtic Park because the club had not done a Belfast Celtic in protest at Sir George Graham’s stewardship of the SFA whilst before exiting for the day Kevin of Janefield Street described Internazionale as a pub team

Profit before people.
Thats when you know things are fecked.
These Tories should be jailed….at the very least.

Johnny Hayes…welcome to Celtic.
May I suggest that if we knew for sure that Paddy Roberts was NOT returning to Celtic, then Johnny would most likely be more warmly welcomed by the majority of the support ?
However, I’m sure that the Celtic support will be right behind Johnny if he pulls on the Hoops.
I myself feel that Brendan and the coaches will improve Johnny even more, and he will prove in a short time to be another real asset to Celtic.
Just saying , as I can fully understand if Paddy went elsewhere , there will be disappointment, and any player viewed as an ” replacement” for Paddy, will in the eyes of many have a tough job trying to win over many fans, but let’s give Johnny or full support .

They should be handed over to the families of the dead and injured.

I was told when Roberts signed for Man City from Fulham that he was being paid a salary of more than 6 figures a week.
What kind of wages would we be offering?
I better take ID with me when meeting the Bhoys on Saturday so I will be served drink.
BT…see u there mate.

Gooood evening CQN
Repeating myself here
Jonny Hayes will do better for us than what we get from Forrest or GMS – my opinion
Wouldn’t have given Aberdeen Ryan Christie on loan though
Janko, Ciftci and GMS still to be moved on, plus either Bially or De Vries ?
Henderson and Bitton ?
Gamboa ? To be replaced by young Ralston ?
I thought we had also evoked the 1 year extension on Izzy, so why would we be looking at another left back ?
Lots of Celtic business to be done :-)))
Hail Hail
TGM ….
The flint story is horrific … if you are interested in it, I think Michael Moore (who is from Flint) reported on this
in order to make up for corporate tax cuts, the governor began looking for ways to save money …. as part of this, they diverted water usage for flint from a clean source (Lake Huron) to another which was known to be severely polluted (Flint River) …. but GM’s plant in Flint complained that this new source of water was dissolving the paint on their cars, so they were hooked back up to Lake Huron… but the inhabitants of Flint were left to use (drink) water which was so bad it dissolved paint! This lead to many deaths… and a multibillion dollar loss … as I recall, the problem could have been solved for about $10 grand.
As I said, some have been charged… but not enough, and not the ones who probably should have been.
TGM
A few deaths will make no difference to them.
The loss of rent from a 24 storey, 125 apartment block will hurt them more.

Capitalism is a criminal enterprise in the UK
Here….responsibility, doesnt apply……
The Tories and their sidekicks bleed the country dry, theft on a massive scale.
The feckers make me sick and angry.
I want Justice.
We need change badly.

We had the chance to change these things last week.
Now we’re in the hands of the DUP.
WTF went wrong?

The tide is turning.
This tragedy will expose the venality of these feckers.
They are truly beyond cruelty, its deliberate.
People want change.
These Tories are fecked, and hated.
That hatred will have a backlash.

The truly sad thing is that the owners will probably get a big insurance payout
The poor tenants will get a lot less

Its a wonder people dont turn up in their thousands and ransack Downing St and ragdoll those Tory criminals.
People have had enough of this Victorian bs.
They are done.

Come on. Maggie May has promised that workers rights will improve after Brexit.
Guess Liam the Fox must be wee bit uncomfortable finding himself in bed with Arlene.

Greed went wrong, people are only interested in themselves and have no empathy or sympathy for the poor and unfortunate in society
The Torys kid on the working class that they are better off if they vote for them.
Then bang, loose your job, your house follows as you have worked for 30 years but according to the Tory policies you are a drain on society..
Brainwashed easily manipulated working class
Too many people only see the bottom line.
The tories will cut taxes, yippee
Corbyn will put up taxes. ..boo
Deluded working class/ middle class not willing to pay an extra 10 or 20 quid a week to help create a fairer society

I used to work for an insurance company. Buildings insurance would probably be available.
I don’t think loss of rent (business interruption insurance) would be covered in a building with that amount of storeys.
But no doubt Betty Lynch will be on in a minute to tell me otherwise.

I agree the tide is turning, if this tragedy had occurred pre election it may have turned quicker.
What has happened is appalling, their should be street Demonstrations in response to this but their probably won’t.
The fundamentalists who created carnage in Manchester & London Bridge were rightly denounced by all on here, let’s hope everyone who denounced them are back on venting their anger at those who put profit before the safety of their tenants.
What is needed now is an urgent audit on all similar type Properties. Those deemed unsafe need immediate closure & the Tenants rehoused.
It may cost billions to upgrade unsafe housing Blocks & indeed some may have to be demolished & rebuilt but so be it.

Any possible payouts are years away from now.
Years and years.
A big welcome to Johnny Hayes.
He will provide wing cover for James Forrest (and hopefully, Paddy) and he will provide LB cover if Izzy goes. A very good squad player to have and he will have more game time with us than some of our more vaunted youngsters, Scott Allan, Liam Henderson, and Ryan Christie.
I reckon he is the first of a few new names heading our way- and some will be names that have not yet been trailed.

The local people affected are already asking people to be aware that these feckers responsible, might possibly give the place a makeover and sell the flats to yuppies.
They are in for a shock if they think the locals will accept that.
This is how bad it is,
People will, believe me….unleash their anger on those they feel are responsible.
Quite rightly in my book.
This country is ready to go up.
HH
Addition to my previous posts.
Many of those affected by fire will be folk too poor to afford even dodgy insurance.
SFTB
Are we likely to spend serious money on a player?
Or is Johnny Hayes the benchmark?
Nothing against Johnny Hayes btw, I just don’t see him being an automatic first team pick.
I very much doubt that Jonny Hayes has been brought or bought as cover for anyone, it’s not Brendans style.
The jersey will be there for the taking, if Jonny performs as Brendan wants, he will have the jersey, end of.
Just ask The Griff.
Far too many hun like we deserve better reactions to his signing imo
