It’s a lot easier to improve a bad team than a treble winning team, but Brendan Rodgers has the latter challenge ahead this summer. One of his principle objectives will be to retain Stuart Armstrong on a new deal. As CQN reported this morning, good progress has been made on that front.
Loving the updates from the Celtic FC Foundation delegation, currently in Malawi with Mary’s Meals. You can follow the remarkable updates from LeftyBhoy here.
This work is being done in your name, with funds you helped raise. Keep an eye on what is being achieved.
Just landed for two days R&R in Belfast. Not been since the mid-90s……….. Off to find a pub and some rich culture…… Recommendations welcome but no messing!!!

If you look at the fires in Glasgow recently in the high rise flats,
In the Gotbals and another in Anderston they seem to have been safely refurbished as spread was minimal
Every flat is it’s own Fire Compartment, it should take 1-2 hours to spread from one flat to the next, something is badly wrong in this case, possibly the cladding as already indicated. The fire seems to have spread around the outside of the building and envelop it
like the new hibs home and away strips … the away one in particular ….

Re: John McGinn
“A headless chicken.Bags of endevour.”
I think that’s far too harsh. Similar things were said about Broony when he came here. The modern game demands high energy and speed. There is little room for a Robert Prosinecki level of application these days, which is why the talented “can spot a pass” but painfully slow Scott Allan is leaving. Liam Henderson works hard too but has little turn of pace.
I was not advocating signing McGinn …….. yet. But I would be prepared to look at him after this year when he has had a chance to compete against other SPFL midfielders. My point was, that if you speak to Hibs fans, they will tell you that McGinn outshone Henderson and McGeouch last year, two guys who were considered good enough for Celtic.
Now, he may fall just short of Celtic class, as did good pros like Ross Wallace, Jackson Irvine, Saidy Janko and, others who still operate at the next level below Celtic. We should know by Christmas time, whether John McGinn can be a future Celt but I think it is more in the balance than you think.

I take the point about ages and, maybe two years of development might see Christie or Henderson kick on again but both players, talented as they are, stagnated last year by not getting enough game time. They both need to play with some club where thay can get 25+ games per season. We face the dilemma of whether to maintain their contract and put them out on loan, hoping they impress and are able to come back or be sold for some return, or whether to cut our losses and sell or free them.
I am happy to see Scott Allan cut free. I am happy to see the decision on Christie deferred by making it a loan deal. And we are both unsure about Liam’s future but the signs are not great.
Some of the players ahead of Liam in our pecking order are also under threat. Bitton is one but Callum McGregor is far from guaranteed a long-term Celtic career unless he maintains and improves current standards. A fit and healthy Eboue Kouassi will be desperate to start after poor health spoiled his initial 5 months. Add to that another possible midfield signing and the improvement in reserves like Ralston, Johnston and Calvin Miller and we will recognise the need to get rid of some as well as recruit.
As a club we need to run to stand still and we need to run fast to improve.
BT, apologies for the rubbish cut and paste in my previous post

That’s my understanding of the flats too
Unfortunately people living on low income struggle even to afford basic contents insurance
Congratulations to googybhoy who has become a grandad…☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
How sad to see this day of utter tragedy being hijacked for party political and ideological purposes.
All rise.
The CQN kangaroo court is in session.

The Drumchapel UDA who still run all drugs and crime in that scheme, see a wee opportunity opening up nationally now to spread their network. They will be government supported. Backed by DUP.
Scary times ahead.
Has Steven Fletcher been spotted yet?
Love
Nytol, I will leave you all with this one
According to popular bookmakers Betfair, Scottish Premiership club Celtic are 3/1 favorites to complete the signing of Adnan Januzaj from Manchester United.
Jonny Hayes eh. Oh dear.
Celtic not building from a position of strength is of course a rite of passage for us.
Let’s face it. Money is more important that football success after all…….
Macjay @ 10.25
No one scoring political points here.
People are simply pointing out that the residents had voiced serious concerns about the fire safety procedures at the flat block. Their voices seemed to have gone unheeded
Is it just a coincidence that the tragedy has occurred while the current government has a policy of light regulation and not interfering in the” market place” .I think not.
Now imagine if the fire had been started deliberately by ..oh let’s just say a Syrian refugee. .I am sure you wouldn’t have been on attempting to score political points about the demonic wave of refugees coming to Europe to kill us all
TSOAL
Steven Fletcher was las seen driving over the Chinese border in a gold plated Bentley.

Before i split, people should look at the justifications of the private management company (KCTMO) who are responsible for the tower block.
Its sickening how they are avoiding responsibility, despicable.
They should not be allowed to get away with this.
People will be demanding justice.
