ARMSTRONG SCOTS BLOW

CELTIC midfielder Stuart Armstrong has pulled out of Scotland’s trip to Peru and Mexico.

The Hoops playmaker has joined goalkeeper Allan McGregor, defenders John Souttar and Barry Douglas and wingers Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser who will miss the friendlies against the Peruvians in Lima on May 29 and the Mexicans in the Azteca on June 2.

Armstrong tweaked a hamstring during his late substitute appearance in Saturday’s 2-0 Scottish Cup Final win over Motherwell.

He underwent a scan this morning and has now opted against risking the injury further with the team’s Champions League qualifiers just seven weeks away.
