  1. I’ll say it again. Barca were superb tonight. They are a far superior team than us They have taken 6 goals off better teams than us. eg Real Madrid in the recent past.

Of course it’s disappointing but we must remember that we over achieved last year. Until we get onto an even financial footing with the big boys, we will not be able to compete.

Barca had a score to settle with us and had to placate their fans following 2 bad results.

On here, rather than play the blame game, how’s about some discussion on how we take things forward?

Already written to them asking as much.

    Will I receive a reply? Hmm…

I fear are new around here — consequently cut out the nonsense.

  4. BigCupWinners….

I heard them from a few people in and around Manchester.

Suitably chastised….no more rumours from me on here.

If I had been right…..different story haha

  5. Not the greatest team selection, nor performance but the margins are horribly tight.

Every mistake mercilessly punished, every bit of bad luck likewise.

    Borrighter horrendous.

    Pukki anonymous.

    Why did Commons not start?

Why did Sami stay on long enough to wake up?

VVD grows each game and managed to shine despite the chaos all around.

A real gubbing, respect to Barca…

We were poor tonight, no excuses and it was painful to watch.

Howver, the gap between the “big” clubs and the rest getting wider, and that’s not healthy for the game on a number of levels.

Financial fair play, Platini? You’re having a laugh.

How does any club justify a debt of 330million euros?

And don’t get me started on the UEFA standard of refs.

Feel shell shocked tonight, but I’ll wake up a Celtic supporter.

    PASS MAP:

Barcelona made 751 passes against Celtic tonight. Celtic made only 202.

Not including blocked shots, Neymar’s chance conversion rate tonight is 75%.

Xavi has made 51/55 (93%) passes against Celtic tonigh

  9. Raymac….

Virgil at least 2 years away from that level.

Last thing Moyes can do at the minute is take a chance on any unproven player.

More likely to be looking at a Barca player?

  10. Do we have midfielders in the development/youth squads who are capable of passing the ball to a teammate and are positive when in possession?

If we do then get them into the team, irrespective of age.

We have a collection of passive, negative central midfielders who are incapable of keeping possession under even the slightest pressure, and don’t have a positive thought in their head.

Its all very well hammering crap like Hearts & Motherwell but any team who press our midfielders cause us problems. League games against Dundee United & Aberdeen at CP recently have shown this.

Proud to be a Celtic fan. Win,lose or draw.

Our club is neither dead nor a franchise. It’s neither compromised or a laughing stock.

To lose to one of the greatest teams that have played the game,is no disgrace.

I d take losing 6-1 to Barca, every day of the week than to be associated with the Spivs & charlatans in Govan..

I have no complaints about the result tonight.

My main moans are about the ball retention and what (from the outside) were some weird selections. The lack of motivation was I suppose to be expected. These factors made a good Barca team even better.

Agree that they have hammered better teams than us.

Anyway rumour has it the ref said last goals the winner, might explain why we played so well in the last 3 mins……….

  16. Mullet & Co – Haven’t seen anything in Boerichter (sp?) yet to suggest he is going to offer anything more than a youth player. I thought the same about Pukki but he is slowly coming round. I thought it extremely poor management on Neil’s part to withdraw him at HT, unless he was injured.

It’s very easy to sit here and be highly critical after a gubbing. How the players react at the weekend will tell us more about what we need to know.

  17. GerryBhoy,

They are simply an establishment club that uses its position to spend wildly beyond its means, daring the authorities to do anything about it.

They profit from the corruption in Spanish government and financial systems and they benefit from an incredibly skewed distribution of CL income.

As we saw at Celtic Park, their players (with one or two honourable exceptions) are happy to dive and cheat with the rest of them.

This notion that Barca are representative of some oppressed minority is laughable.

I dislike them for the same reasons I dislike Real, Man City, Arsenal, Man United, Milan, Juve, etc etc…

Have only just finished watching the game as I was late in from work and had to record it. Consequently I avoided CQN so that I didn’t know the score.

If you’re around you were right pal. One day we were gonna take a walloping when consistently up against such a high standard of opposition.

You know games are getting played.

Just a case your happy clapper disposition does not allow you to admit it.

    PL has lost the plot.

A bigger problem may be that NL never had it in the first place.

It will take vision and patience to sort this all out and I don’t think either of them have it.

    Ok ekbhoy, no probs.

If my opinion rocks the cqn ship too much then, ofcourse I will refrain from giving an honest post….

    Keep on clapping..

    ——

Perhaps the clapping as you put it will drown out the sound of towel chucking!!!

I don’t believe you are rocking the cqn ship at all , you simply stated you do not give a monkeys at the moment, perhaps you will locate the aforementioned monkeys after the teams next good win….

The lack of reality on matters of professional football is staggering on this blog , usually worse after a defeat.

  21. Have to disagree that Barca were outstanding tonight.

Given their standards, I’ve seen them play far better. They were good, but we gave them it, end of. No point in hiding from it.

  22. Olympiakos from Greece….one of the poorest countries in Europe.

    Champions League last 16.

Good coaching trumps lack of money sometimes?

  23. I know that it won’t happen but the support deserve an explanation of where the club is going

The summer signings have been mixed to put it mildly

Boerigter and Pukki look well short of the desire and mental strength that a top player needs

Balde never really gets a start yet he was the first bought

Biton looked promising tonight and was unlucky to be taken off ahead of several others

VVD looks the part but one out of five ain’t great!

It looks as if Sammy and Joe are for the off -if so then tell them thanks but leave now or spend the rest of the season with the youth team

Commons and Stokes are either too slow or too cowardly to play at CL level

Why did we not pay the money for the likes of Russell? -he couldn’t be any worse than that lot tonight and indeed might play more for the jersey

Perhaps Lenny has had enough but his team selections, tactics and substitutions this year in Europe have been very poor

We deserve an explanation and someone fronting up to tell us what the club’s hierarchy think we should be doing!

I went off Barca a bit tonight. I love their football but they certainly show what money can buy. Love to watch them humping every body else, but not Celtic.
