Every team in world football gets a hammering once in a while. Barca got absolutely horsed by Bayern last season, did they not? That was brutal tonight but it can happen. Barca were fantastic tonight and we were poor. We lick our wounds and come back out fighting.
God bless the Glasgow Celtic
Absolutely spot on!!
Every team gets hammered once in a while. Barcelona have hammered Leverkusen, Real Madrid and Ajax in recent memory. Bayern Munich have hammered Barcelona. Man United destroyed Arsenal a few years ago and Man City walloped Man United and Tottenham. It happens!!
Doesn’t make it any easier when it happens!!

I think NFL has got our tactics wrong in Europe this season as shown by results, in playing with 2 wide men ( won’t call them players), and poor formations, offering little protection for defence.
As already commented, we look slow and cumbersome at times.
But can I add we have several players earning in excess of £25k per week, there is better value for our spend out there for the positions they play, surely, and I believe we could attract better than those we have signed ( with exception of VVD)
Hugely frustrated and a really bad loser, even to Barca :-)
Canny wait for Saturday though, see the reaction

Barcelona have every chance of making the semi finals.
They’ll get a preferential draw now and they will always get refereeing decisions other sides won’t. Mathews being booked tonight was a good example of that.
With Messi, Iniesta, Fabregas and others to come back into that side, they’re no a bad outfit.
the long wait is over on
Calling Celtic “Matalan” now is it?
What would you rather we did went out and spent crazy money we don’t have?
Prudence has its price for sure but financial profligacy? We don’t need to look too far to see where that gets you.
I’d far rather we took a thumping from time to time than jeopardised our unbroken history and our children’s inheritance in the club we love.

The CL, as a competition, is essentially beyond a team of our means. We might scrape through occasionally, but more often than not we make up the numbers in the groups whilst the teams from the “big” countries – backed by dodgy oil money and worse – saunter through.
Europa League is much more our level, yet UEFA seem to let that competition wither away whilst indulging the CL.
Not sure how we can change that. Although an analysis of this campaign will show many self-inflicted wounds.
Going forward we really need to sort out the transfer strategy. Why are we buying average players on big wages, then barely selecting them?
Very wasteful…

Yes, If we had been a little better our defeat would not have been as large.

I wish I had been wrong too but the transfer money these clubs spend on top of the money they spend on youth development makes this a different level. Their back up 11 to their first 11, costs more than our first 11.

I agreed with that. They intimidated us in numbers and with energy which we failed to match in either aspect.
The why of that is what I would analysing.
Whilst I accept money can buy players of that extra energy I am not convinced that we cannot match that degree of application..
When they surrounded a player with three, why do we not put in four? Is it because we do not have to in the Scottish game?
Those are places we can improve with what we have, not moaning at what we have not.

VVD would stroll into any team. If Holland don’t take him to Brazil then the Holland coach has not been watching.By the way,I agree on Biton. He’ll be a player, and Pukki, if played as a number 10 will be the same.
I watched the U19 game against Barca, and Celtic were superior in the first half, but again, fitness seemed to be the difference in the second half, along with the young Celtic goalie having a bit of a mare.
