That’s not as bad as I thought it might be when he went down, that looked bad.

‘Got to admire the few brave Hoops jumping about in the Barca end when Sammi scored.’

They were hardly going to get a doing from the Barca fans.

‘How much is that squad worth now?

are you not more concerned about what they might achieve??’

I’m concerned that we keep the squad together and continue to develop and improve it

excellent!! me too….thats much more important than what they are worth

  4. the spirit of arthur lee – fingers crossed that all it is. It looked nasty in slow mo.

    First time poster today.

I am so proud of NFL and the bhoys

Read the comments by the singing detective. Did he watch the same game as me?

    or is he a WUM

dont worry you will learn to ignore him

  6. There is something about this squad. A real strong mentality from a young squad and a lot of talent as well. They are the type to dust themselves down, learn and move forward.

Our main problem will be keeping this team, management included, together long enough to really progress.

While I am on a roll, the club structure, scouting and development also to be commended.

  7. Not many teams can go to the wire with barca without booting them off the pitch. No bookings for the hoop as far as I can remember. Building a composed team that is learning every game. Proud Celt if not a little gutted.

Re Sammi’s injury. Neil said at the press conference it was a twisted ankle and he is hopeful the Big Yin will be available for the 2nd leg.

It also shows that speculation can lead to accumulation.

Remember people moaning that we were being held to ransom by FF?

  10. We have a real good side, Efe signing is a master stoke by NFL.

Keep this squad and we are going places.

Big Fraser, I was a doubter at first but by God has he proved me wrong.

Thank The Lord I’m a CELTIC fan.

Love being part of the faithful….. Getting a bit emotional

  11. I’m just watching the game again. 22 minutes in. We are up 1-0.

Brown is definitely playing through pain. He looks distressed when the camera cuts to him.

Give him a rest Neil and bar him from Scotland selection.

As club captain his first duty is to Celtic.

We need him fit and raring to go.

  12. No bookings for us. It was actually a match played in a great spirit. Immensely proud and not for the first time in the last 52 years.

  13. TheOriginalSadiesBhoy on

Ernie was being ironic but an ill judged post. As someone rightly said we won’t bury the OF tag if we keep dragging 3rd Division teams into the equation. This was a night to laud a brave defensive performance by The Bhoys. Let Them rest in peace – until the FTT report and then laugh like hell.

  14. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

It is time for Beram Kayal to rediscover his form and take Broonies spot.

Agree re. Brown, from the collision he had with Messi he obviously was in pain. We shouldn’t even bother patching him up and rushing him back for Barca at home in a fortnight. Give him a month, we’ll need him in Lisbon, where depending on results we will have a chance to qualify for next stage.

  16. Well played Bhoys against the worlds best team.Who’d of thought you would be leading in the first half till late on and concede only due to a truely world class goal.

And then lose a goal in injury time a

    Cruel ending but that’s fitba.

Lenny’s young lions will learn lots from playing tonight and are in a great position.

  17. A remarkable achievement to play barca in the nou camp conceding over 70% possession, lose to a goal in the last seconds of the game and pick up no bookings.

Thats no way to play anti football.

  18. Is Sammi being creditited with the first goal,I had a £1@16s ,if he is I will donate it to Oscar Will someone let me know,as I am not a gambler.

  19. Marrakesh Express on

Its all been said already so I’ll concentrate on the manager. He’s smart, is definitely a motivator (like his mentor), and learns fast.

We’re going forward with Neil Lennon and I’d even say that the hun and press treatment he’s had to endure has driven him on to where he is today.

    Hh

  20. Came of age tonight.

Hard as it was to lose with seconds remaining – and Barca totally deserved the win btw – I believe in times to come, we will reflect on the performance, which was amazing in it’s controlled defending for long periods…..and see it as a defining night for this excellent young team.

We played better tonight than in the 2 excellent Nou Camp draws…..and against a much better Barca team than in those days.

    Neil my bhoy…….take a bow.

It wasn’t irony. More of a rhetorical question ie one for which an answer is not required, used to make a point. I thought it was bleeding obvious, but no matter.

As the game wore on I felt we were being short changed by getting only one point for holding them to a draw in the nou camp. So little reward for such endeavor. Perversely that feeling softened the blow when they got the winner.

  22. ‘Whatever happens tonight I will (God willing) wake up tomorrow a proud Celtic Supporter’

    Absolutely guaranteed.

What a heartbreak – but nothing demonstrates the character of this team better than the interviews afterwards. Lennon is becoming one of the greats. To lose in this fashion and still come out minutes later with this composure is what courage is all about.

BTW, what a sporting game proud doesn’t begin to describe my feelings about this team.

Remember people moaning that we were being held to ransom by FF?

absolutely correct…..one of the many stars in our young team… we have a lot to look forward to…we will probably sell a few at a profit but we seem to be bringing in the right type who will continue to improve our team

  24. Proud tonight. Forster was immense. Young team going places.

I was gutted for Scott Brown, like so many players before him he may have to make a decision in respect of playing for his national team to prolong his career at the top level. Gutted for him as Neil was saying a couple of weeks back how committed to the national team Broonie is. It’s going to be his call and his alone but it’ll be a conversation I’m sure Neil will be having with him this week.

  25. A great tactically astute management performance by Neil Lennon.

He takes so much heat off the players, giving them a tonne of praise and makes this (wonderful) group of by young players better in the way Martin O’Neill did. He’ll do for me.
