that game was a total education. learned a lot about possession, defending, sportsmanship, tactics, passing, concentration, persistence…I could go on – and I only watched it, imagine what our Bhoys who played tonight have learned…….?

James Forrest was booked in injury time according to UEFA site- not sure what it was for

Is it a bookable offence to allow an attacker to get in front of you when you’re defending a cross.

Hopefully the knowledge that the Scotland team won’t now qualify will help him see sense.

    Came of age tonight.

Hard as it was to lose with seconds remaining – and Barca totally deserved the win btw – I believe in times to come, we will reflect on the performance, which was amazing in it’s controlled defending for long periods…..and see it as a defining night for this excellent young team.

We played better tonight than in the 2 excellent Nou Camp draws…..and against a much better Barca team than in those days.

    Neil my bhoy…….take a bow.

    Absolutely phenomenal post from Tully.

  5. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

I started off the night hoping they didn’t score 5or 6…….finished the night disappointed that they scored in the last minute……….how far have we come…….good night ….. Knackered but so proud…..

  6. Sorry one last thing, how many champion league games in the last ten years finished without one yellow card – incredible!!!

  7. Now that Charlie Nick has been mentioned, does anyone know if he backed up his comments before the Spartak game? i.e. he thought Celtic would need to win in Spartak to prove they were a big team with ambition? or did he just result ot the same old lazy slagging match that other wipe-ables resort to? Craig Burley, come out come out where ever you are.

We’ve dished out many late late goals including v oldhuns, ac milan and shakter.

    Thats football. Glory and Heartaches.

And yes, as much as we defended well, they were different class and deserved it.

bhoys and ghirls remember the other result in the group almost certainly leaves things in our own hands…. we are in a great position and more to come

  10. So proud of Neil and the team. We missed Sami, but no complaints about any of our guys. Really looking forward to the next game.

Hopefully Ernie. I don’t ‘do’ the national team myself but feel for him as he does have to make the decision.

It helps now that Neil only has to concentrate on football matters and not about parcel bombs etc.

Neil is a truly remarkable individual but has shown since our reinstatement into the Europa Cup last season that he is going to be a Top European manager. We have to remember he is still at a very young age for a coach but is developing at a quickening pace so it seems.

Gutted but good feeling about this team. Hope the bhoys are partying in Barca.

    Hail Hail to you all

    Bring on the killie

  16. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/ on

Hope Neil had a boot at the 4th official for booting the ball back on the park for a Barca shy

  17. Superb Celts.

Heads up bhoys and ghirls – what a great performance tonight.

No rash tackles – no bookings ? – a disciplined, skilled and professional display against arguably the worlds best team – what about their first goal !

NFL deserves huge credit for turnaround in the team since Utrecht.

We have again arrived as genuine players in CL competition – play anything like that in Lisbon and I do fancy our chances of picking up at least a point and would hope to finish with 3 points at home against Spartak.

Cannot wait For CL anthem being played before return game against Barca in 2 weeks time – Paradise will be jumping !!!!!

COME ON YOU BHOYS IN GREEN – HAPPY DAYS ARE AHEAD !!!!!

I’ve watched every Barcelona game this season. That was the best performance by an away side at the Camp Nou so far…

    Phil Kitromilides ‏@PhilKitro

@SpecialMadrid32 yes. Madrid are the biggest side in the world. Celtic play in a very poor division. what they did was exceptional

    Phil Kitromilides ‏@PhilKitro

Let’s put things into context, Madrid played v well in 2-2 at Camp Nou, but they’re the biggest club around. Celtic play in a v poor league.

    Phil Kitromilides ‏@PhilKitro

@terracethoughts thus making any result they were to get at the camp nou all the more impressive…

Not sure the phrase “madre mia Fraser Forster” will ever be uttered again on national prime time Spanish television

  19. Well that’s that then…need to find lucky a new t-shirt, telly, stop burning candles to St Henke the patron saint of goals. That was the routine we/mrs frantic went thru before every game. You know what..I am sticking with my superstions!

I have thought long and hard about last nights defeat and we must learn from it.We lost our goals at the end of the first half and the end of the match which may well show a frailty as we as a team are mentaly back in the dressing room and relax a bit during those vital periods when Barcelona scored.I also think that Hooper is not suited to the role of the lone strike he is a striker who thrives on service last night he just couldnt hold theball and give the defence a breather I feel Sammi is the better option in the lone striker role.I am sure Lennie would learn from last nights match as well as our young team who really did us proud.H.H.
