Bet your novelty duck there are lessons to be learned

1033

Celtic probably anticipated the three match suspension Uefa imposed on Scott Brown following his red card for an off the ball incident against Barcelona, if they didn’t, they should have.  That’s not to say the decision is not “harsh”, as the club described it, as far as off the ball incidents go, this was a lesser offence, but it was a red card awarded for an off the ball incident nonetheless.

Are there lessons to be learned?  You can bet your novelty Celtic duck on it.

No more on this, or injuries, until late next week.  Absolute focus is required on the task ahead.  Ajax will arrive in town on Monday low on confidence, let’s take them.

A CQN’er has kindly donated two tickets for Tuesday’s game at Celtic Park against Ajax for the 1254125 appeal.  You can bid for them by silent auction by emailing your bid to ajax@celticquicknews.co.uk.

Please include telephone contact details.  Auction will close at 19:00 on Sunday.  The winning bidder will be notified on Sunday evening, tickets need to be paid for directly to the 1254125 MyDonate campaign before 12:00 on Monday or the tickets will be offered to an alternative bidder.

Many thanks for participating.

What would Fergus have done? Celtic lost out what, £10-£20m?

Judicial review. And the stuff about being kicked out of the SFA UEFA for going to court wouldn’t withstand a legal challenge either.

  2. Definitely agree Kayal33 re Fisher. If there is one thing I really want out of this season, it is to see one or two of the Academy players making the breakthrough to become regular first team players. At this point of time Fisher represents our main prospect.

  6. PFayr,

I don’t think UEFA took pity on that particular apprenticeship team, actually I think they saw that particular court case – mistakenly – as an irrelevance.

Wasn’t suggesting that UEFA took pity on them

Perhaps more that this threat is empty

  10. Bada ,Just as well Mr Tumble isn’t playing against us today. I can see Calum Murray pointing to the spot already.

  11. Best of luck to young Darnell today.

    Wouldn’t have played Sammi.

Would have gave him a rest for Tursday, but the rest I would have picked.

Please God , no injuries and a positive result, Amen.

  12. Delighted with team, I hope Izzy is just being rested and has not joined the injured list. Brilliant to see Fisher play, I don’t want to put the kiss of death on the lad but I thought he was terrific against Liverpool in the Aviva and can’t wait to see him play again. My match anticipation meter has just gone through the roof.

They look cute, but mate, they are born to protect, they must protect, and if they are denied the inbred instinct, then you can very easily end up with a nasty dangerous dog.

Ducks (of any persuasion, chucks, sheep, kids, anything, they will protect their own.
