Celtic 2-1 Kilmarnock

648

Kilmarnock substitute Danny Racchi scored with a thunderous striker after 87 minutes to turn an otherwise pedestrian Celtic victory into a late drama.  Georgios Samaras scored a goal either side of half time to give Celtic the platform to secure a victory which moved them to within a point of the top of the table.

Victor Wanyama played in central defence, which left his midfield partner, Beram Kayal, bereft of a solid accomplice in midfield.  As a result, Kilmarnock found it easy to run through the Celtic midfield with Paul Heffernan and Dean Shiels causing problems.

Neil Lennon must have been wondering what he would need to do to spark Celtic into action after the break when Cha Du-Ri sprung clear on the right and threw in a high cross which Samaras attacked six yards out and headed into the net in first half stoppage time.

8 minutes after the break Samaras made it 2-0.  Gary Hooper collected a through ball on the right and knocked it into the Greek’s path.  Samaras looked to have lost the ball, which was caught between his feet, but he recovered, evaded some flaying defenders and cracked a left foot shot into the net from the edge of the area.

Kilmarnock looked well out of the game until Racchi’s late intervention but after they pulled a goal back Celtic looked rattled.  Celtic scarcely held possession for the remaining minutes and hardly put two passes together in three minutes added time.  Fraser Forster was forced off his line to challenge Heffernan with seconds remaining.  The keeper did well to block but the ball broke free to Dayton who failed to convert an excellent change to equalise.

Been out crazy drinking since the game today. Feel like I’m on a different level. God bless all celts and their families. God give all huns the strength to get through the next week without rioting. Most of all god give cultsbhoy the strength to change his name without shedding a tear. God bless all in timdon. Legends every one. Hail hail.

Tell your wife your boys will be good and not to fret, they’ll be back. If I could get a wee bit of peace I’d watch the game again mate but every time I sit down I get pestered for another chore.

I remember Kenny Shiels and what he did for Neil Lennon; with his stance he also shamed the whole of the professional game in Scotland for standing up for a man being subjected to repulsive abuses and tortures.

  3. We all know magnificent men who are not Celtic fans.

Men of deep wisdom, love, and character.

If Kenny Shiels is such a man, then I will be happy he has come to work in Scotland.

Anyone thinking that our fellow countrymen are not capable of decency are no better than Nazis.

  4. I always find it strange that so many stick up for Shiels. Manger of a team who lost 3 goals in the first 6 minutes against them as recently as May. But hey ho. Mowbray was just being ‘professional’ in 2005 so what can I expect?!

Kenny Shiels stood up for Neil Lennon when nobody – nobody of influence – besides Celtic Supporters, thought it was the right thing to do. Belatedly some grubs crawled to the party. What Kenny Shiels team do once they take the field against them… well that is a different matter altogether. I’m of the mind that every player that plays against us, even those players who don’t really like us, they all up their individual and collective game becasue for those ninety minutes when they go up against the Celtic, for the vbast majority of them it is the biggest stage and the highlight of their careers. They dream of pulling on those hoops and the only way most of them have a chance of doing so is if they perform against us, or so they think.

    Sorry logged back in there.

Rascar Capac – it’s good to see ya back mate it is!

kingoh….Kano 1000 – Hink Shiels was only in the job a few months before that capitulation? The fired up huns just steam-rolled over the top of them.

Did Killie not beat the huns 1-nil a few weeks ago?

Def gone now,or else i won’t see Christmas day if she wakes up fs!

    All the best. :)

I tend to agree with you but perhaps we as a support and on this blog can get rid of some of the paranoia then. Maybe , just maybe, we struggle against Motherwell but the huns sweep them aside. Maybe, just maybe, we hump Aberdeen regularly but the huns struggle against them. Maybe ,just maybe, Terry and his highlanders try just as hard against them as they do us.Maybe, there is no massive conspiracy against us? Regardless of the opposition manager.

Very emotional song, did you happen to see any of the game today? I was shopping and one of the shops I visited had a wee guy (still at high school) and he gave me £19.00 back from a £20.00 note and the cost of items was £11.00. His reason was they were getting rid of him. He said happy Christmas and I have gave u a bit extra, after today’s results I knew he was from the same extended hoops family as I am.

Good Luck mate, I got to see both the games and for me it was a really big day, and on top, and not insignificant in its own right, it was Christmas Day too.

Every time i try to leave, they drag me back again! – Was that from the Godfather? Ha!

kingoh….Kano 1000 – I think you are correct mate. Most of the season they look after their own sides,it’s just when it gets down to the nitty gritty,i think – when the likes of Motherwell & ICT are safe from relegation – they are like raging dogs against us,they lie down against der hun.

It’s the Establishment that our main problem is with, their referees, officials so to speak.Im not trying to make excuses mate, but when ya look at the decisions in their games so far – if the “referees” were fair and impartial – then we would be at least 7 points clear at this stage. And they will keep going on about that throw-in in the 89 cup final, and Naka’s free kick at Rugby Park – but im talking about game changing decisions here – penalties, given or not – goals allowed,or disallowed, blah blah blah.

This is from the very top of their degenerate “society”.The masonic.Once a year they present them with a bowler hat and a pair of white gloves – tell them they are better than their neighbours. They use their own people, the boot boys, the dregs.

We are the common enemy. And there is no doubt about it – Rangers FC has been hi-jacked,and used as a vehicle for bigotry and hate.I don’t know much about their history – but i know this – those that founded that wee club, back in the day – almost certainly never intended it to be what is has been, and what it is.

And i know this, and i know that ilk – greed and money is their main motivation – that’s their treacherous history in a nutshell.Treacherous they are.Sneaky is an understatement.
