Celtic fans to blame, apparently

902

I see Celtic fans are being blamed for rumours of Newco’s administration by their former manager, Ally McCoist. He could argue that. Alternatively, you could suggest that a business unable to secure bank borrowing, dependent on funding from directors, who will soon be forced to find £11m to make a share offer, has created more than enough financial uncertainty without Celtic fans’ assistance.

McCoist suggested “even the biggest Celtic fans in the country” do not want to see Newco go into administration. Not so sure you are right there, Ally. Personally, I would find it a funny, but it is not going to change anything. It would not lead to relegation and will not change the title race in any way.

The most significant outcome of administration could be forcing control from Dave King. Which would be a source of enormous regret.

You hang in there, Dave.

The CQN Podcast: A Celtic State of Mind (EP28) with former Celtic director Tom Grant

Paul John Dykes and Kevin Graham are joined by Celtic’s ex-director, Tom Grant, who offers a fascinating insight into the running of the club in the 1980s and 1990s.

Tom Grant explains exactly why Celtic refused to complete the Mo Johnston transfer in 1989, and lifts the lid on audacious efforts by Billy McNeill to recruit Peter Beardsley and Steve Bruce.

Tom Grant also dissects his relationship with Fergus McCann, and the impact of the ‘Celts For Change’ movement in overturning the ‘family dynasty’ board in 1994.

Can’t even be bothered having a toady

Not as it I’ve lost any pounds by not drinking cos fridge is still full of chocolate

  2. When the glorious Spurs team in the early 60s became the first club in the 20th century to do the double as well as being the 1st from the UK to win a European trophy, they gubbed the despised atletico 5-1 in the ECWC Final as well as beating deidco 8-4 en-route.

Only the mighty Benfica, including a young Eusébio, stopped them from winning the Big Cup in the semis the year before.

They belted out “Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur” as well as “Oh when the Spurs go marching in”, similar to the Buddies a couple of years before.

Belted out unlike the dirge that is being sung today at Wembley, a bit like Liverpool and their pathetic version of “Walk On”.

Incidentally in the ’62 Final Real Madrid after leading 3 times with a hat trick by the “Galloping Major” and a side that included Alfredo Di Stéfano lost 3-5 tae the Portuguese champions. A young Eusébio would score the winning and insurance goals.

7 year later we would gub them 3-0 at Parkheid courtesy of a TG pile-driver.

One of my acquaintances can’t even pronounce nor spell his address-which made it difficult to drop some stuff off to him today-and he has his PIP appeal on Monday.

He has been refused an adjournment to allow him time for legal advice,so will have to represent himself.

A fella who can neither spell nor pronounce his address. And struggles to construct a sentence. Only found out about it today,or I’d have stepped in myself via a trusted Blantyre friend’s assistance.

When he goes to appeal on Monday tell him to ask for an adjournment in rights of justice

If they refuse tell him he can appeal to higher tribunal

Tell him to ask for statement of reasons straight away, he has 28 days
