Celtic interims show what a stable club looks like

869

Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon.  The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m.  This suggests other ticket sales increased.

The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m.  So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.

We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals.  With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m.  This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

Oh may God shine on you, Bobby Sands

For the courage you have shown

May your glory and your fame be widely known

And Francis Hughes and Ray McCreesh

    Who died unselfishly

And Patsy O’Hara, and the next in line is me

And those who lie behind me

May your courage be the same

And I pray to god my life was not in vain

And though sad and bitter was the year of 1981

All was not lost, but it’s still there to be won

At the time I think both the team and the fans were still getting used to Ronny . We seemed all at sea and the young Scottish manager of Dundee seemed to be getting more from his team.

Fortunately I am old enough and knew better than to slaughter him on here.

Of course signing a striker would not have guaranteed CL but it would have showed we were trying. To play Berget was an insult to intelligence

PL looked at bottom line. He saw we would still have a profit and he would get a nice bonus if we bought nobody for CL. He doesn’t care what happens on park. Only his growing pension plan is his goal

He has laid down the marker and the fans accept it. We don’t plan for CL by investing and fans accept it now. His bonus is no 1

Given t hat you’re living in Crumlin have to agree with Eddie you should have got half a dozen to dull the pain.

Jesting of course. I have a sister living there and one in Glenavy.

We might need to stand alone when it comes to honesty and decency in the game in Scotland, I’m happy to abandon those who claim to have ‘been part’ of our history and heritage.. we don’t need them, they are using us.. we don’t need the scottish media to tell the truth, as we have shown, if need be, we can issue a statement of fact, approved by the ASA, passed by who ever legal teams, and remains unchallenged. I am happy to stand alone, as long as we have our principles.. No wonder we often align ourselves to the oppressed, the ill treated minority and the underdog.

Hail Hail.. We are the Champions.

Just read back and saw your request for advice re your conundrum about going to an art exhibition or to the Celtic club.

    My advice:

    Work 2 hours overtime

Charge your client for the extra time

Buy your good lady an original Rembrant, Dali, Picasso or similar with your extra pocket money.

Problem solved – pass to future Celtic games secured.

The last line has definitely changed. Originally it was a more sombre “ah but sad and bitter was the year of 1981. For everything I’ve lost and nothing’s won”
