Celtic interims show what a stable club looks like

869

Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon.  The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m.  This suggests other ticket sales increased.

The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m.  So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.

We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals.  With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m.  This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

You know how some times you just have a good night, especially when it’s not expected. Well tonight we had a night like that.

My youngest daughter has moved back home as she is intending to go to Australia for an extended holiday this summer and wants to save up.

I laid down the law, no invites for more than 2 friends at a time and she has to let us know where she is if she isn’t comming home etc.

Well last weekend was the first test of how it would work.

Those that are friends on Facebook will know that I had a wee scare last Sunday when my daughter Emma went missing in action after the LC semi-finale. She lost her phone and instead of waiting for lift home from the Champions Bar made her own way home. Both myself and Isobel were frantic with worry. To Emma we were just a couple of old fuddy duddy’s worrying about nothing. She ended up in the Harp Club in Dumbarton where someone recognised her and let us know she was ok.

All this week there has been a reluctant stand off between me and Emma, as neither of us really wanted to say we were wrong and TBH it’s been a bit strained between us in the house all week.

Tonight I made the dinner, Emma’s fav, mince & Tatties, after which she asked if I had any films we could watch. We started watching a film for some reason reconnected, we found ourselves slagging the actors and just enjoyed each others company. It’s been a while since I felt this close to Emma. She’s blasting out the rebs just now and honestly I’m having a ball.

And to think I was dreading this night lol

Twas my birthday today and I was very sad that my sister Rena died today that was until a friend said. She held on to be with you on ur birthday.

I feel a lot better now.

Night Bhoys Night wee Oscar my hero. God bless x x

  4. BGX,

Shouldn’t the question rather be: why has our SNP Government made a bad situation worse? Their “losing” proof, that actually can’t be lost, about Catholics being far more likely to be victims of sectarian violence; their passing an Act which is utterly superfluous but deflects attention from sectarianism to “objectionable” are both, imo, far more frightening than anything Labour may have or not have done.

  5. HT,

    Meh.

    He played last time too.

I use the word ‘played’ very loosely.

    (tongueincheeksmiley)

  6. HT

Yes I agree . Some people point to the games against Motherwell , Hamilton and Ross County at home as being our poorest domestic performances but that game at Dundee was worrying , and I feared for Ronny.

Will let you know how I get on

  11. Borgo,

Sorry for jumping in and playing gooseberry again :)

I agree. Those 3 were nowhere near as bad as some make out. Dundee was poor but the early loss of a goal put us on the back foot for too long. Chased a bit to much.
