Celtic interims show what a stable club looks like

869

Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon.  The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m.  This suggests other ticket sales increased.

The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m.  So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.

We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals.  With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m.  This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

  1. Delaneys they were very close friends with my parents. I was a wee bit young but I know the family well. As you say good Fenians.

Twenty first who is looking for agreement dude :)

  2. Evenings Celts,

Watched a few decent films today,

The imitation game which is excellent for those who like a wee bit of history with a twist.

The other film is a must watch IMO, SELMA, it’s a great representation of the black civil rights movement in the US.

All about voting rights and sectarian murders, a wee bit like the bloody Sunday film I watched earlier this morning, ACGR you’ve been told, it’s another film to get yir dander up.

That’s football. Dundee are a decent side on a 6 unbeaten run. Already knocked Aberdeen out at home.

I care not for the cups, but given some of the stick RD has taken from some, I hope he wins it, and Ronny Roars it right down their throat.

That said, I would take a home win over Inter ahead of it, a statement win could do him the power of good going into next season.

  6. Neganon,

I find myself in agreement with the bulk of what you say, albeit not everything.

I do admire your ability to tolerate the abuse you get when you argue your points (and mine in most cases) very well. The only issue I’ve disagreed with you was the referendum vote. But at least I could read your point of view, and allow my own opinions to be challenged.

This is the best place, I’ve found, to experience that. So anyone making flippant moans about “discuss it on another blog” can gtf in my opinion.

And who else is speaking up for the welfare of young Celtic Supporters on this site??

Very few, and those that did, seem to me have given up. There seems to be a lack of interest in this issue, which is for me, is one of the biggest issues facing Celtic in my living memory.

It doesn’t help, when posters such as Bankiebhoy, make random comments of

“sleeekkkkittttts”, with everyone quickly scrolling back and wondering who the f he is on about…

I’d describe that as sleekit. Killing debate.

We’re not all stupid on CQN, we can spot attention seekers, and apply a bit of intelligence to spot those that speak with some feckin passion.

    And then this morning,

pigaille, you referenced KevJungle with moon howlers.

I’m sorry if you choked on your corn-flakes, but are you aware how you insulted a whole group of CQNers. Well, I can’t speak for them, but I was certainly offended. Are my opinions to be dismissed like that in one post from you simply because you felt like it? I found KevJ’s comments quite offensive and of order this morning, but that you pigeon-holed myself and others into the same hole you place him was worse. Well done, and thanks very much for that. It was great to read that this evening. Sarcasm smilie.

I detest hunnery, and the MSM, and traynor.

But if I’m to trust that some of you lot aren’t working for them while accusing the rest of us of doing so, then there is something seriously wrong with CQN now, and that is quite simply this:

You’ve allowed hunnery and MSM trickery to win, by randomly attacking points of view and killing decent discussion, which is why many of us were drawn here imo.

We can mostly spot the wallopers, and in the cases where its not possible, use our wit to argue against their nonsense, or ideally, when they are daily offenders, just ignore them.

When you don’t, they win, and they are then “spoilers”, with your fecking help.

What made me laugh aloud was the quote from Rabbie Burns, used by some here today, without the ability to look in the friggin mirror:

O wad some Power the giftie gie us

To see oursels as ithers see us!

Discussion is good. If you can’t argue against the point, no matter how twisted it might seem, then leave it someone who can.

I’m sorry mate but I’m never done, both on here and in the real world, championing the causes and rights of the Celtic support.

The OBaF Act was and is aimed at criminalising us specifically. I’ll continu to fight it until it’s become history.

HT – sorry to ask you when I’m bevvied, but what’s the score with St Nirren away tickets on Good Friday – i saw a think saying they weren’t giving to dupporters buses?

  13. HT,

Apologies if my post wasn’t clear in who I was angry at, certainly not yourself.

Your discussion today with Neganon was important to me – I’ll keep my opinion on it to myself for now, but I was glad to read both of your views on it today. You both did so civilly and intelligently. That’s what it’s about. A great read, but yet one that some seemed to want to ridicule.

I’ll only get tickets through the bus because St Mirren rarely give to individual supporters, the vast majority go directly to registered buses.

How many are you looking for?

    St Stivs

I wouldn’t change you for a minute mate.

  17. So long as the BBC and others continue with their blatant propaganda, attempting to promote Sevco and denigrate Celtic at every turn, I will not share a moments sympathy with all the Sevconians and their followers.

    Today we have :

Great News!! Potential new investor for Sevco.

    Terrible News!! Celtic profits fall.

    When the truth should read:

Crooks FC – Yet another dodgy character looking to bite into the Sevco carcase.

Another Good Year – Celtic report another profitable year.

The ‘we arra peepil’ mentality which led to the demise of RFC (deid) is still alive and well with Sevco FC.

When will they learn? If they had reported the truth from the very beginning perhaps RFC would not have died and perhaps, just possibly, Sevco FC wouldn’t be the financial basket-case it is today.

I do understand where the posters who complained are coming from, I scroll through a multitude of posts on here nowadays.

However, I do think that Neganon and I kept it civil and courteous today. He has his views on this, I have mine and ne’er the twain shall meet I suspect.
