Celtic interims show what a stable club looks like

869

Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon.  The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m.  This suggests other ticket sales increased.

The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m.  So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.

We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals.  With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m.  This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

Laurence. His family and mine have been Labour Party activists in Knightswood and Drumchapel for decades. He did not like my support for Radical Independence and me voting yes. :)

  6. Glasgow Council spent 1.2 million in corporate entertainment at celtic Park last season, which makes their contribution after their gifting of land / undervaluing of land deals a cool £24 million to us in the last 3 years.

Take into account their 12.5% decrease in rates for celtic park and the 21.3% increase at Murray Park / Ibrox, you’d have to say we couldn’t have operated without their largesse.

Here’s to the bhoys at the council. HH

  7. BGX sigh. No. There is no mainstream party in the UK which is. It’s all degrees within an overall capitalist system.

Man I am bored with your mad fascist views masquerading as pretend socialism.

  8. BGX…

I hope we don’t stand alone, I hope there are others who see the wrongs that are happening in front of us. and I hope we will prevail..

God Bless all of us, (and you too, my friend) take Care.. Hail Hail, KTF.

BGX the answer is not enough. I’m afraid the problem was and is so,endemic that tackling it properly was not a vote winner. I guess we are just too small a minority. But by and large they did help the working class have a better life.

But what I would caution you is believing that the SNP will tackle this issue. I’m afraid it’s not just about votes for them. They are also institutionally sectarian. The OB act on its own should provide you with plenty of evidence.

BGX I would urge you to look around and see what is actually happening.

    >>>

Maybe you should have a poll of catholic priests and bishops – Like the rest of the country it would be an SNP landslide. The catholic church is by majority pro SNP. Institutionally sectarian? Come on, behave yourself. Desperate stuff.

  15. sevcos latest ‘investor….

“Lalit Modi keen on buying stake in Ibrox club”.

He maintains that he made billions for the Indian Cricket Board, but they fell out very badly, to say the least. He was suspended for life amidst allegations of impropriety which he vehemently denies.

Modi relocated to the UK, citing fears for his life if he stayed in India. Subsequently has has used the media to issue a steady stream of comments, criticisms and allegations about corruption in cricket – especially in India.

His background is marketing sport on a massive level. The prospect of making Rangers popular in India, as an emerging football market, might be enticing for both parties. Whatever Modi does, he is unlikely to do it quietly.
