Celtic interims show what a stable club looks like

869

Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon.  The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m.  This suggests other ticket sales increased.

The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m.  So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.

We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals.  With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m.  This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

Neganon, haud oan a minute. I’m still laughing at this part “Your somewhat creepy friend and acolyte pedrocaravan sought me out early on this point”.

He aint my acolyte, he’s my lovely wee brother.

I’ll refrain from commenting on your boyfriend and gimp comments other than to ask, if your not my gimp, who’s gimp are you?

an tearmann – aye, one of the sons is an Everton season ticket holder so I suppose I’ll be rooting for them. Funny though I always kinda followed Liverpool before he started.

My main interest is my wee fixed odds treble – Tottenham, Everton and Rochdale. All the best.

    Just re-read my last posting.

Of course, if RFC hadn’t died, we would never even have heard of Sevco, nor that other infamous line “The Holding Company”.

I recall someone expressing sympathy for Andy Cameron.

His material never was as funny as the RFC/Sevco scriptwriters.

    ……………………………………….

Can I put in a word of sympathy for Andy Cameron? For many years, Andy C. Gave up his time to run the auction at Cardinal Winning’s “Cardinal Ball” during which he raised many thousands of poundsvfor charity. I can also remember when he spoke up at a Rangers (1872) AGM against the anti- Catholic signing policy. He declared that he was Church of Turkey and that a player’s religion was of no consequence to him and shouldn’T be to Rangers. He was shouted down and intimidated.

Some of them are good guys and I think Andy Cameron is one of them.

GM, thanks I forgot the wee Spanish rat bigot was playing for them at that time.

Off to see if the goals from the game are on utoob.

GM, I couldn’t find it on utube. It would have been a good one to post to the boy and ask him if he remembered it. I think it was the only game he saw the great Henke play in, so on that score I’m happy I took the boy with me that night.

When he’s 80 years old he’ll be able to tell the cronies in his ward that he did indeed see the king of Celtic score a goal. The 80 year auld manto will pure lap that up…………………I fink, hope:_))

Love chariot time for me and I’m still having a laugh at Neg’s post to me and his “entourage” point.

FFS, I live in deepest darkest Angus in the wilderness, an entourage up here is a lonely deer following me home.

Neg, I don’t hold a grudge pal, I’d still like to have a beer with you but I’ll put it on the tap this time.

I wasn’t having a go at Andy Cameron personally.

Just saying that the Sevco comedy show is much funnier than him.

  18. Just curious, are there any rules (for most normal businesses) with regards to calling an EGM which stipulate where the meeting must take place?

I wouldn’t have thought it unreasonable for there to be some rule stating that the meeting must be held within X miles of the company headquarters or even at the company headquarters.

Surely there must be something to stop ruthless directors from holding the meeting at a location where the shareholders have little chance of attending.

NOTE: I am not a shareholder; not even a Sevconian (thank God!). Just curious…..

And yes, I realise this isn’t a ‘normal’ business by any definition of the word.
