Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon. The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m. This suggests other ticket sales increased.
The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m. So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.
We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals. With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m. This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

Sevco are now a sideshow. What is being revealed in this tale is a much murkier scene as the cellar door is blown open and light is shone on the corrupt bodies that have been running Scottish football all these years.
The collusion of the SFA,the media and the politicians in allowing this fiasco of rule bending,rule breaking,tax avoidance and general cheating all in the service of the so called establishment club that died in 2012 is beyond parody.
It is not just sporting integrity that is being compromised here. There is a moral and spiritual vacuum at the heart of this long suicide note currently still in the writing. If Sevco was a dead body recently buried,then what we are witnessing is an exhumation for no other reason than refusal to accept that the death occurred.
Somebody in authority outside football has to intervene to bring some sanity to bear(no pun intended)on proceedings.

Pest controllers have warned a town it is about to be invaded by SUPER RATS – after its biggest ever rodent was found.
Exterminators say an army of massive rodents which are immune to traditional poisons is “closing in” on Swindon in Wiltshire.
The warning has been issued by local pest controller Justin Holloway of Prokill who recently found a 20 INCH rat – the biggest on record for the town.
Super-rats are so-named because of a genetic mutation which creates a resistance to mainstream rodenticides.
