Celtic interims show what a stable club looks like

869

Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon.  The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m.  This suggests other ticket sales increased.

The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m.  So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.

We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals.  With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m.  This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

  1. Just in to say….

I hope that Stokes and, Izzy urny playing on the left flank this week. They got away wi their usual laxity last week coz we were playing the ‘monkeys’…Paul Hartley will have noticed this.

Re: All the street parties since Commons re-signed…think about this…

Paul McStay threw his jersey into the Jungle…guess what?…naebdy came for him.

Kris Commons threw his boots into the fans…guess what?…naebdy came for him.

2/3 years down the road after loosing Wanyama n Ki…the ‘bored’ finally realise that they had to make a move to replace those 2 players after, sitting on the money they brought in, thinking theyd get away with it…imho.

The ‘bored’ realise that the ‘monkeys’ look like their not coming back up this season so, the likelihood is…more seats will be empty…so, GMS and SA had to be signed as…if they werent then, more expensive replacements would be required come the summer transfer window or, more foreign-agent rubbishy players would be recruited with the likelihood of yet another CL-cash pot squandered by more ‘bored’ mis-management…imho

Commons, Broony, Mulgrew and Stokes attracted no transfer interest…that says it all for me.

If this post gets my account pulled…bring it on!

  2. I’d personally not go with Forrest and Commons.

Neither work back naturally, indeed wee James only does it reluctantly.

    Big onus on our fullbacks.

Watch the Dundee right back overlap with wee James watching on.

Still confident we will be too strong.

I’ve got one hell of a hangover, can’t remember getting to bed. Neighbour knocking door early today saying we were out of order playing music till early hours. TBH the were more ragin that we didn’t invite them in.

Anyway off to Glasgow to meet a friend and who knows we may even take in a wee Junior game if there are any still on.

  4. KevJ – what a load of nonsense you spout.

What are you basing the lack of interest on? Paper talk?

If so, Bolton and Leicester wanted Commons, Leeds wanted Stokes and Stoke wanted Mulgrew.

However, the papers are full of nonsense as well you know.

Most enquiries never make the public domain so you, and I, have no idea which players attracted bids.

    Morning All,

Just logged in, and haven’t read back yet, but has anyone else tried to contact the SFA’s Compliance Officer this week, concerning Elbows McCulloch?

    Anyone receive a reply?

I’ve just sent my 3rd e-mail to him, since Thursday, and still haven’t a reply.

Happy with the line up regardless of anything Dundee’s squad can do.

Plenty in midfield from Biton Brown and Johansen.

It’s an attacking line up and AS lacks fitness and it’s time again for Forrest to try and prove why he’s so highly thought of at Celtic, under successive managers.

The bonus will be a pitch.

  7. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

Hello this is WEE BGFC. Me and Dad just parking the car now. :D

    Prediction:

    Dundee 0-2 Celtic

  8. Replace Stokes and Mc Gregor with GMS and Armstrong and that is a very strong first 16.

Add in Stokes and a fit Charley,Scepovic.A very strong 1st team pool.

    Not so long ago really.

Taken together the tweets suggest she’s not suitable to be an MP.

    She lacks maturity and judgement.

Looks like our team picks it’self now, really settled looking.

Like my Friday lunch – egg and cress sandwich, mineral water, and a snickers.

  11. SNP candidate hates Celtic shock.

Brian Donohoe, lodge member and Mason,Labour MP and ferocious Monkey supporter.

    What was the point again?.

  12. Saw a couple of posts on here referring to the fire alarm (false fire alarm) at the teams hotel in the early hours of the morning. I couldn’t help but remember a post or two from yesterday asking where the team usually stay in Dundee and an answer given as to the hotel. Now I have no idea if it was that hotel they were staying at but, do we really need to give these cretins that kind of info on here

  13. Tuckermc–you are in a dodgy area of Belfast to be wearing the Hoops. Don’t get me wrong–plenty of good bars and excellent restaurents, but it’s bordered on one side by Sandy Row, near the Norwegian Blue’s supporters club, and a UVF dominated Donegall Pass on the other. Get a taxi to the Andytown Social Club or the Felons. If you want the Celtic equivalent of the Louden, go to the Rock Bar. Any of the pubs on the Falls or Andytown will have the game on.

  14. Ernie –

    I would agree 100%.

She is very immature and should be pulled from the list.

However, my main point about hating Celtic not equating to anti-Catholic sectarianism stands.

  15. Tom Mclaughlin

The quote was ““I’ve only just realised – I really f***** hate Celtic” and “Celtic, yer a joke!#scum”.

The other guy in the studio with Paul Brennan last week, speaking for Rangers, was a prominent left-wing Yesser who drafted the People’s Vow, which the SNP have quietly shelved.

My accusation was not that she was sectarian but that our future as Celts in the shaky Yes coalition is not as rosy and unified as presented. Look at the reaction to Jeannette Findlays “Tiocfaidh ár lá” quote about the Yes result!

But it’s fitba time, Tom. This froth can wait.

  16. TUCKERMC

Try Hatfield house on Ormeau Rd. Ph.028 9043 8764. Not far from you. Should be showing game. Failing that as Raymac says, west is best.

  17. Cheers lads. I knew to get out of dodge after seeing some of the finely painted walls but not sure where to go. On route to Andy town.

    Created in current climate.

SNP candidate should be removed from list without hesitation. As should current labour parliamentarians.

I DON’T believe I’ve seen much change since the referendum unless I’ve missed the Brit Nationalist campaign against sectarianism. When did that begin?

    MWD said AYE

  19. MWD

I never claimed that sectarianism was absent in all parties. It is the Yessers that hae the one eyed view on things like that. And a rose tinted view of a “Big Rock Candy Mountain” trip to a unified future

As for previous campaigns, Jack McConnell ran one that did not require an OBaF Act. Remember? The one the SNP quietly dropped and lost data on.

I’m away to watch the fitba. I don’t care if the lassie is sacked. I don’t think she should be but I remain of the opinion that there are many bigots in the Yes movement and the SNP will exploit and use their new “left wing” recruits.

there’s a reason for those left wing recruits though.

A problem for Labour, that has deepened and entrenched unfortunately.
