Celtic midfield problems

645

Neil Lennon accepted responsibility for the tactical decision to start yesterday’s game with three at the back, saying, “We thought the three would suit us, but that didn’t seem to be the case. We looked a little bit flat the first 10-15 minutes and I don’t know why.”

Hibernian scored during this period, which may or may not have been a result of the defensive line-up, but if anything, Celtic were even flatter after they went to four at the back.  The game was a throwback to the days when Gordon Strachan’s teams worked hard but seldom inspired.

The midfield didn’t dominate enough of the ball to prevent Hibs creating several good chances and was unable to craft a clear-enough opening.  With Charlie Mulgrew on the field we are always dangerous, and Kris Commons has a better sense of where the goal is than anyone at the club, but without them we grasp to Paddy McCourt, who only seems to get the call when we’re in trouble.

So where do we need to strengthen next month……………?

It wouldn’t break my heart if Manning took Denver to New Orleans.

What did break my heart was the team I picked for the NFLUK FF.

I was 4th out of 20k at the start of the night, 35pts behind the leader, but Cam Newton, C.Johnson and the San Deigo defence has meant I can unpack the suitcase for the trip to New Orleans!!

  10. Just been reading back.

I see kitalba the Brisbane Stalker is up to his old tricks again, throwing his weight around and accusing yet another poster – this time Ntassoolla – of being me. When will he ever learn, even after being proved wrong so many times? I suppose he was pished again, but that figures. From what I have been hearing, he is not so brave away from his keyboard.

Of course again he never comes right out and says it. He drops little bombs here and there, once again mocking my ill health with comments about “fake heart attacks”. So he’ll deny accusing anyone of being me. Thus is the nature of the obsessed drunkard.

kitalba (The Brisbane Stalker) – you are a little shitebag of the highest order. You threaten me with comments about what you are going to do to me “when our paths cross”. I look forward to the day.

Apologies to the blog but I am no longer going to let his personal attacks on me go unchallenged.

Shall I tell big Joe you were asking for him?

    Probably better not eh? LOL

  11. SPF it would be ironic if an AFC team wins SB. Outside the top 3 that conference is very weak compared to NFC.

If you’ve followed the betting for the winners of the SB, it’s as wide open as it has been for a long while.

One week it’s Houston, then NE, then Denver etc. Add into that SF one week then Atlanta then GB etc.

With the seedings almost done, it’ll be a lot clearer now in the market.

  14. vmhan –

I have been away on holiday for a week and away from CQN in that time. I have just been looking back and he has been attacking me in my absence with comments about “fake heart attacks” and “ripping off priests” whatever that is supposed to mean.

What am I supposed to do? Let it go?

    Would you?

  15. Is that the Vegas odds? I don’t follow to much before the playoffs. Did try to pick 5 teams a week with the handicap. Difficult. I only have Betfair over here. Not the same…

  16. Tom McLaughlin @01:06 I’m glad I caught you. I did not understand kitalba’s remark about “ripping off priests and chapels and fake heart attacks.” Although I was sure it was an invective against somebody.

Did you steal the lead off the church roof or something like that? At your age? With a bad heart?

Vmhan I’m entitled to an explanation of why kitalba chose to menace and slander me. Tom McLaughlin is welcome to fill in the gaps that kitalba ran away from.
