green brigade not welcome at celtic park

monarchy and its games – lawwell/desmind bend over

  2. The old saying if you pay peanuts for a player you will bag a monkey, well think we can safely say our new midfield playmaker is just that. Usual over the top gushing of praise after one average performance last week.

Sad thing is, he isn’t the worst, step forward Stokes and Samaras for that.

Get that team sorted Lennon, beaten by a bunch of never beans who wanted it more.

  3. Yep we sure missed ..Mulgrew in the Mid.

    In Ma opinion..

We jist coudna handle the Aberdeen Agressiveness..

    They wanted this game..

    While,We ..

Were far to accommodating tae them

    We should shown mair Grit.

Too many Celtic players off form today. Only Virgil and James good enough.

    ———-

Agree on VVd but can’t agree on JF. Disappeared for most of the game.

Too easily knocked off the ball and appealing to the ref for fouls he’ll never get.

Genuine question. What did he do today that really Aberdeens defence?

Incidentally he was far from the worst but nowhere near effective enough.

The reason is that when he’s on form he’s the one player in the squad that top class European teams regard as a threat.

  6. Philbhoy - Free the Dam 5! on

    tonydonnelly………….

………….you’re going to need a bigger list!

  7. No doubts as to who the better team were today. Robson and Flood were terrific and Brown had no influence. As already mentioned JFK and VVD would be the only ones to get pass marks. Hoping Aberdeen get a home draw against Sevco and stuff them.

  8. South Of Tunis on

    Mmmm-

Had the heebie geebies all week..–going to lose, going to lose etc..

Final straw was learning that a PTFC mate had stuck a grand on Aberdeen ( a man with a fabulous betting record ) — a stitch on , havent beaten Celtic for years, a Cup game, the unbeaten run , the no goals conceded etc etc..

Need to begin the CL preparation now !

  9. Neil Francis Lennon must shoulder the blame, though the guys he stuck on the park have to answer the call. Only a few did that,,the others just sat back and picked up a pay cheque..If you cant lift yourself for this,,,,the only real game of the season then you might as well chuck it.

    Neil,,,,we await your excuses.

  10. corkcelt- SUPPORTING THE DAM 5 on

We lose our second domestic game of the season, albeit a vital one and suddenly Lenny is useless, the team are rubbish etc. etc. The only thing that is rubbish is a section of our so called supporters. I’m logging off or I’ll say something I’ll regret,

  11. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well all you CQNrs who would not go and watch a cup-tie against the Rangers have your wish you wont have to this season. I think we have to congratulate Aberdeen as they played well and Good Luck to them in the next round. We we can judge Neil on this season even if we win the league by 25 points it is still not good enough as we have been dumped out of all the cups two of which were at Parkhead to Morton and now Aberdeen.Today was poor just like a pub league game at the end we resorted to moving our Centre back up to the front not great tatics in my opinion.Although overall I would give Johanson pass marks he did pass the ball to Aberdeen players to often for my likeing and Griffiths thought he was stoksie the way he kept being caught offside. So what excitement do we have for the rest of the season well its now all down to Tony Donnellys exposures not much else watch the crowds falling even further at Parkhead. H.H.

  12. Ach well. At least there’s now no prospect of having to play the Rangers tribute act this year.

  13. JF’s final ball is inconsistant and his first touch can be abysmal at times. Not all he is cracked up to be.

  14. the long wait is over on

    Opps

Should have read. “Genuine question. What did he do today that really HURT Aberdeen’s defence?

  15. FourGreenFields on

If some of the posters on here put as much effort into fighting the corruption in Scottish football as they do into attacking our own team then perhaps we would be playing fair for all league structure .

I didn’t go to the game today as I refuse to put any money into an SFA sponsored competition but I watched my / our team struggle today . We lost the battle today but at least we are still alive .

  16. Season may be over some but CQN season is still alive.

Anyone know of Celtic bars in Krakow?

  17. The warning signs were there last week, Stokes and Commons were rubbish against SM.

We lost today because Aberdeen won the midfield, they knew we like plenty of time on the slow build up and they were not prepared to give it to us.

Poor tactics for Lenny’s part has never sussed out how to beat a packed midfield.

Anyway Aberdeen just about deseved to win due to the frantic way they closed our 2 MAN midield down and easily closing down the flanks. Broonie and Johansen were exhausted at full time. Thought Robson was Aberdeens best player.

    What now?

  18. What doth it profit the fans for Celtic to collect fees for staging cup finals whilst team cannot get past early rounds.

Paul called it correctly earlier in the week when he referred to the manner in which records can be blown.

  19. Ach well….oot of 2 cups at CP.

I said a wee while ago, a few months ago in fact that

the Dons could win the 2 cups – I hope they do now

that the Celt’s are oot. The Dons are my favorite 2nd

team and, today…they marked KC oot the gemme and,

when ye dae that…Sellic hivnae goat much more to offer. imho

In fact – only VVD an wee JF were any ghood the day for Sellic. imho

Well done the Dons. Go now and win the 2 cups like yeez did in the

early 90’s when, only the huns EBT-racket, stopped yeez fea getting a deserved treble. imho

Guid luck Celtic n Dons fans – Hail Hail – Off oot.

  20. Tricoloured Ribbon on

Brutal performance.Thought we would settle after the goal but were totally dominated in midfield and Hayes and Rooney had a field day.Two shots on target at home.

    That says it all.

  21. Snake Plissken on

So are we going to be defending this tripe today if McCoist is walking around Celtic park with the Scottish cup in May?

Our team today, was out planned, out thought and out fought by the Dons.

Some of our “rejects” paid us back in spades. Well done to them.

I thought James was great. He needs players to get on the end of his crosses and needs players to make runs. Both were missing.

The pertinent word in the above is vital.

And as events unfold it may prove to have been extremely vital.

  27. I think Neil’s poor tactical awareness showed in his team selection and use of subs today. It was schoolboy stuff at best. Bringing on 3 strikers when you are a goal down is not the answer. Pushing your centre half up to play centre forward is nothing more than desperation. The way to get a goal back was clearly through James on the right, not by humping long balls forward hoping ‘the big man’ can knock it on. That was they way we played as kids. I think both Biton and Pukki could have given us more than the subs he used. Get the ball on the ground and retain possession.

Anyway, what’s done is done. It’s a shame that our great form in the league will now be forgotten as people say our seasons over and talk about our first loss for quite some time.

  28. NFL,,,had the chance to alter the team and combat the Aberdeen dominance, he failed to do that. His substitions didnt alter the game, the battle was in the middle of the park,,,once we lost that,,,the game was done. He fails to be able to change things,,

We have to accept that we can criticise when we lose..otherwise there would be no debate.

  29. Corkcelt

Pop on the rugby mhate. At least it’s going right….so far.

  30. Last season we were in four competitions after Christmas. We’re not even treading water this year and with the exits we all know are coming in the summer it’s going to be another European tightrope for the plc -sorry meant to say Cfc and the worst thing about it is it’s all so avoidable .two huge away wins playing the way we were reared on watching and it’s all changed to accomadate a Greek tragedy. The goodwill the support would have had for him had he moved in the window has gone now it seems.€8million for a player?yeah right PL doing a good Kevin bridges impression there . Bloody livid

  31. 67 European Cup Winners on

Many on here think NL got tactics wrong ?? I have no problem with that – HOWEVER I do have a problem with him not reacting to it – very poor not to change the system

And I will say it again why NL continues with Samaras – God only knows

Stephan Johanssen thought he gave it a go – good to see that energy

Having said all that good luck to Aberdeen thought they gave it everything they had

  32. Is this Norwegian guy another project or was he bought as a first team player?

I know it’s early days but ffs…..would rather pay Scarlet Johansen in the Hoops than our Johansen.

    On today’s evidence,he is gash.

Biton must be having a mare in training these days,ey?

  33. Kojo cracked it for me. Mulgrew missing from middy. Soon as I heard Samaras in team with Jamsie I worried. As for Broonie….Biton much better player. Balde I would play with Griffiths from now on.

  34. cliftonville celt from belfast praying for Oscar the wee legend on

    ten men won the league

A truly humiliating result. A parting of the ways between NL + Celtic must be made this summer. His time as Celtic manager is over. The team are going nowhere under him.

    Seriously ????

Aberdeen are 2nd and building a decent side who will compete with us as shown today

That’s me off for a few days !!!!

  35. Pogmathonyahun aka Laird of the Smiles on

Best team won. Our midfield was not at the races, Broonie very poor, Johansen a shadow of last week, Sammi not interested. Adam Matthews doesn’t look match fit, why drop young Fisher? Robson and Flood up for the game whereas our midfielders were not! Charlie obviously a big miss. If we are going to buy a striker play him from the start not when it looks like the game has passed us by.

The league is won, time now to separate the wheat from the chaff and bring in Balde and some of the younger players.

Neil before the game “our players are up for this game” – sorry I beg to differ Aberdeen were the better, hungrier team for the last 20 minutes of the first half and all of the second half.

I don’t tend to rant after games but this one has pissed me off, not because we lost it but because we capitulated with a whimper.
