  1. Celtic did not play great tonight. Some getting a bit hysterical. Our passing was shocking. Our first touch and awareness was shocking. No one expects the team to match Barca for skill, but,FFS if we do the basics right we can do much better. No faulting the immense effort, but lacking basic skills, which is not a new thing.Fek knows what we do in training. No improvement in this for seasons.

Off too bed before mini gets home from game.(she is with my dad)

Im older so I can get over it ..

    Poor kid..

    God bless and KTF.

I’d be interested to know who you think will score the goals against Ajax ? Rather than worry about who replaces Brown ? Or will a nil nil draw be a result in both games ?

  4. RobinBhoy - Supporting Wee Oscar and Mackenzie on

Watched the game in the Lucky Leprechaun in Orlando with about 150 Tim’s. Brown was daft, Neymar is a diving cheat but that’s two games on the bounce his indiscipline has cost us. Cannot say for sure we would not have conceded but he made his teammates job tougher. Big fine if I was the manager.

Valdes save from Forrest was outstanding but Charlie has to hit the target with that header.

Big Forster’s saves at the end were brilliant.

Good effort just fell short agin.

    Onwards and upwards!

  5. Just a thought’

All thru the monkey’s “erm” champions league campaign

I never watched or listened to a single game. I had no interest in them.

Tonight we had four monkeys sitting behind us i in the Old bank bar,

and they were quite vocal about our chances i.e. zero.

Their night was made when wee fabi score What makes a monkey

    so interested in us?

  6. RobinBhoy - Supporting Wee Oscar and Mackenzie on

Passing the ball ten yards to a teammate seems to be beyond us at times, no composure on the ball, need to get some tiki taki practice in during training

I would like to think Neil will have a go at his “captain” in private behind the scenes , correct way to do it , but I was surprised that he made the comment about Charlies header

  8. After tonight, surely we now know that playing Mulgrew against class teams,is a man down.Charlie is ok for SPL or whatever it is called now ,but is very short of champion league standard,no disrespect to Charlie ,just an honest opinion.

  9. Turkeybhoy, I usually don’t agree with much of what you write but tonight is different. Forget Neymar. We know he dives. Forget the ref. We should focus on the embarrassing inability to retain the ball. Yet we have gifted players.

  10. I may be the class pessimist but a reality check called for bhoys apart from our outstanding defence we were poor. We did nothing to worry Barca in midfield or attack, a JF shot, saved, and a CM missed sitter in a brief attacking spell were the sum total of our efforts to score and we were at home remember. Frightening statistic from the first half was Barca had 600+ completed passes we had 65!!!. Interesting to know what percentage of Barca’s passes were made forward – I am guessing it would be a significant number.

Can’t fault any of our players for effort although through no fault of their own our forwards were left in splendid isolation for long periods and when one of them did get the ball they had no support and were quickly mobbed by the Barca defence.

  11. Lenny was dead right not to criticise Brown in public. Why wash our dirty linen in public. Fanad we will just have to agree to disagree, I think he was keeping the shape of the team the same. James for the outball instead of tiring Sammi, Beram for Matthews and Matthews for Lustig at the back.

  12. canamalar prays Oscar can do it again on

    Drambowie,

Every issue they have they project on to us

    Poor sick thimgs

  13. Aye guys, lets have the manager come out and slate Scott Brownand ,while he is at it he can

have a go at Forrest and Mulgrew for missing chances, and throw in a few digs at the defence for losing the goal,

I’d say playing Charlie and Stokes against class teams is a waste of players.

I like them both and happy for them to play most games but they really do hardly anything in these types of games.

Goes to show how well the other players performed when you consider for large parts of that game Charlie, Stokes, Adam and Commons hardly got near a ball.

Lenny defending Brown in CL press conference.

Condemn and fine more appropriate. IMHO of course.

Asked a belter of a question by a Spanish journo. That boy wouldn’t last in Scotland.

    —————-

We can’t week in week out complain about SPL refs not giving protection to our players then saying things like Neymar wouldn’t hack it in Scotland.

    ——–

Think you’ve read m wrong mate.

I think Broonie should be condemned and fined. Our club captain shouldn’t be doing that.

    Very unlucky

Lost any respect I had for Neymar – just a cheat at the end of the day

3rd place still up for grabs

  19. channelislandcelt wee oscar has done it before and he'll do it again on

I have grown to like Scott Brown – but sadly , I feel he has let us down tonight.

  20. canamalar prays Oscar can do it again on

    SFTB,

Looks like tonight your dud of the match game is taking off.

    Its all his fault.

Night night n well done the Celts this thing is still wide open

    Hail Hail

  21. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

    Roddybhoy

Yeah – fair point. Let’s hope so. It’s tough enough at this level with 11 players. I thought he was our second best player up until then too.

  22. The nerve of the Spanish journos , saying Broonie tackle was against CL spirit if fair play!!!!

Bet Lenny struggled not to deck him.

    Diving , cheating bassases !!

Lost a lot of respect for Barca!

  23. Magnificentseven supporting Oscar all the way on

a lot of hurting huns on tonight…what a surprise…don’t rise to them

proud of my team….Broonie needs a slap but that’s it, move on and beat Ajax

  24. Corkcelt

Always like your posts, but are you saying we made three changes for one substitutions,I don’t think you would be happy if the Rebel County manager did that.condolences for the weekend,

  25. Just in from the game. Proud of the team and proud of our fans and the atmosphere we generate.

Great gesture giving Iniesta (my favourite non-celtic player) a standing ovation when getting subbed.

Angry at Scott Brown, thought he had outgrown that nonsense. Very petulant, unneccessary and cost us a point.

Efe, Virgil and Sammy all outstanding. Thought we missed super joe tonight.
