  1. Sounds like we badly need 2 centre midfielders.. Move brown to the right and wakaso on left… Ship berget and tonev out to free up some wages.

Or in meantime give biton some game time..

  2. Go tell the Spartim

I was going to reply to your post then thought, naaa I’m away to my bed.

Well done all you hopeless feckin Celtic players that won that game tonight.

Man you were gash to a man.

    So ye wur.

If we play crap and win every game 1-0 we will be world champions in 2 years time.

    Sleep well ya fuds.

No doubt they were a pretty slick team.

  4. Ronny’s record since window closed. Won 4 and drew 2. Including 2 Euro ties and a game with team currently topping the undisputed best league in Europe.

  5. Well done Ronny and Celtic. Result far more important than performance.

Martinez seemed delighted earlier to have 4 points from two games.

The two teams we have played are decent and would have demolished any other team in Scotland.

At the moment Ronny is buying time on a weekly basis.

I thought we’d probably need to score 3 to win tonight, so a win and clean sheet are an improvement. Celtic’s worst enemy is still the individual errors, that need to be sorted.

Another vino coz’ I’m in a good mood.

Even that U2 song in the advert sounds no bad.

    Onward and upwards!

Very good point, first defeat all season for the champions of Croatia

    Well done Bhoys again :-)

Phillbhoy, Lustig, Mathews, Guidetti, Scepovic, Forrest, McGregor, Biton, Mulgrew, to name a few all missing from the squad tonight, all good shouts for the 1st team ?

    Hail Hail

Had a great weekend at Stonehaven!

Hope you are well my friend.

    Must hit the sack now.

  8. By the next EL game v Astra we should have Lustig back at RB, Forrest on the right wing, Scepovic fit and more settled in his new environs, Mulgrew, Matthews, Mcgregor available and Biton and Boerrigter also available for their seat on the bench.

A helluva lot of talent unavailable tonight (add the intelligible Guidetti as well) so whilst performance wasn’t great, the result was vital, it buys time to get our strongest team on the park and better options on the bench.

  9. Ronny record improving as he acclimatises but still c young and guidi and other clowns reckon McCoist doing a great job and our guy is not up to it.

When I stick to football I can occasionally be sensible. Only happens on a Thursday of course.

My day of sobriety, pure coincidence, but f course!

  11. The Spirit of Arthur Lee on

    Fellow fans

There are not a snowballs in Hell chance of Mathews, Lustig and Forrest being fit together for at least 62 minutes in one game never mind a season .

  12. Cowiebhoy

I believe there are 4 or 5 who would make a difference but not sure where I would play!!

    Night night all!

  13. Zagreb are eighteen games into their season little wonder they looked so sharp in the second half.

  14. Go Tell…..

The difference between our players and players from most of europe is ball control, they seem to have more than we do.

I won’t speculate as to why that is, but as someone who knows feck all about the game, I would put it down to lack of application by the players.

If I was a footy player earning 10K a week, I would want to better myself, say by about 50-100K a week, now the only way to do that is apply yourself, and the rest is as they say……………………………

  15. I thought Broonie was sloppy at times and gave the ball away in dangerous places. Still, his work rate and inspiration was incredible. Not pretty flowing football, but they played with intensity and desire. Winning ugly is a good thing for confidence building.

This team will eventually entertain us a lot

To be fair,I doubt anyone genuinely thinks McCoist is doing a great job.

    Granted,I love that!

  17. A good but lucky win tonight. Craig Gordon outstanding again. Stefan Johansson, I don’t see what he brings to the team.

BTW…. Our goal was pure class, deserving of winning any game.

A work of art so it was

My fave move. Works every time.

Turned to the Wee Mhan – Henrik and Sutton used to do that a treat!!!

I thought Wakaso was poor. You highlighted Izzy struggling but certainly in the first half that was a result of Wakaso drifting inside and leaving him exposed.

He’s got bags of energy though so I’d imagine he’ll start more games than not.

  21. Anyone know why we were late getting Gutettl, not sure if I have the name right, we could have done with him to-night

  22. Right Timdom.

I was still building an ikea bed till almost 2 this morning!

Early start tomorrow so best head for bed…..

  23. Just in from the game, well done Celtic, Kris Commons, brilliant, my MotM.

    Craig did very well.

But the whole team did, a few scary moments, but we really should have been a couple up at half time.

Enjoyed the atmosphere in the stadium, the GB make a difference.

Ffs big man, what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom ;-)

  25. Stephen J…much better tonight…better passing but still some silly give aways.

RD needs to sit him down and tell him he doesn’t need to run everywhere but rather make sensible decisions of when and how to press.

  26. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

More than happy with the victory against a decent side,we

rode our luck at times but our goalkeeper deserves all the

    luck that’s going, outstanding again.

Watched the goal there,KC sublime finish was more than matched

by AS lay off……caught shortie before the game Chick Hun and Tom

British were preparing RD obituary, really happy for the manager.

    An IKEA bed?

Good way to get the earth moving for you both…

  28. Kayak has looked great every time he’s come on. His hunger compared to last season is night and day.

Johansen gives you energy but he really does need to sort out his passing.

I do think there’s room for Kayal, Johansen and Brown, that would be a very energetic midfield. The front 3 would need to be creative, have good movement and good at carrying the ball.

  29. Gary67

Hearing Keevins make a great deal of Ronny using 28 players so far his season, as if it was some sort of bad thing to beat him with, not a single person has mentioned injuries, suspensions, and a new manager having a look see at what he has on offfer.

    We will get there.

The next window should be interesting, especially if Ronny has a say, if he don’t, it will be dull.

  30. Magnificent performance from the two CHs,closely followed by Broony who covered every inch of the park.Goal fit to win any game. The goalkeeper is immense.

My only crib,Ronny,we need to play 3 in the middle. Its getting ridiculous now.The 2 guys were being overun at times tonight.

Now we can let Zagreb and Salzburg knock hell out of each other,as long as we win.

  31. Delighted with the win and the three points which puts us in a very strong position in the group

Gordon, Brown and Johansen were the rocks in our team tonight from which our win was achieved

Clever play involving Stokes and Commons provided our opening goal, well taken by Commons, unfortunately no one else in the side looked like scoring

At this level we need to have a striker who can play along the line, make himself available to both sides of the pitch, have some pace and most importantly be in the centre to score from any promising counter attacks

Sometimes its better to be a lucky team however we can’t rely on it throughout the whole group to enable us to qualify

Open game in which the Croatians had superior technique and game intelligence thankfully they had no finisher like Maribor’s brazilian Tavares
