Couldnt have been from a defensive aspect – awol in that respect (from open play).

From an attacking perspective thats interesting, because apart from one break in the first half I cant remember Samaras putting in a cross of note and I cant think of Forrest putting many in either.

Also cant remember them being on the ball a great deal – or having an overly impressive ball retention rate.

Im only saying because I thought it was curious for the bhoys to have picked the centre mid position as the one which needed changing when bringing on Ki and leaving them 2 on – and you agreed with it.

I thought the two centre halves stole the show for Celtic in the 2nd half – without those two rocks (rocks, Celtic, centre half, pair, eh!?) we were in big bother. Absolute immense those two.

  2. In jurys inn after the game! Being in the bottom corner front row was right in front of victors celebration and Scotts brilliant after game antics! Hero :)

Big FF made a stunning save after the blatant cheating

Imo browny drove the team on and Sammy was great but big vic motm for me

i would have added Brown to the MF and taken one of the four attac minded players off…

i think Sammy is often left on for two reasons ..he is reasonable as a target man witha long crossfield ball and he is good with defensive headers at set pieces

for me i`d have taken either of the front two off as they were both poor

Did you manage to get out of Hunmadale ok. That bovril I bought you might be still there at C P. Be cold now tho!! Lynch’s was jumpin the night. Pity the mib plan didnae work for you’s the day!!

    Off up the town now.

One of those key results today.

Great save, great goal from a poor performance.

Got to be honest, I’m alarmed at Stokes’ and Hooper’s lack of awareness at the need to pull wide early when Forest has the ball and 2 or 3 opponents are lining up to disposes him. One for our manager or coaching staff.

Can believe the Hearts supporter’s penalty decision today. Incompetence too, to have 12 players at kick-off in black or navy.

Just glad we got the points.

Had a horrible experience at Celtic Park.

My ticket didn’t work and the man behind started to curse me.

“You’re holding it the wrong way you p*&^k!”

Someone behind him told him that the turnstile was faulty and he went to the next one. As did I.

At the “Paradise Windfall woman” I observed mildly that I’d been holding the card properly after all.

This turned out to be a mistake.

Without warning he turned and butted me in the face, knocking me to the ground and splitting my lip.

This was a totally unprovoked attack which has left me shaken and wondering just what the hell made this man act in such a crazy manner.

The description I gave to the police was sketchy, though he must have scanned his ticket just before I did.

After medical treatment for my gushing lip, I got to see the second half, but let’s say my enjoyment was impaired.

    Sickened.

I’ve now watched the ‘penalty’ ten times and it’s as clear as mud.

How Murray could call that in real time, with two minutes to go, shows what we are up against.

I’d agree that defensively both Sammi and Forest were poor today. I don’t think that’s a frequent occurance and that’s why recently they’ve maintained their place in the team. Both have greatly improved that side of their game.

I actually thought that aside from one sclaff, Loovens had a good game. I don’t know if he was injured but I suspect Lenny’s half time change may have been for other reasons.

  12. A few questions:

Where is the guy on Rangers Tax Case getting his info? Why can Whyte and his team of geniuses not plug the leaks?

Having spent 15 minutes reading the RTC blog (must admit I prefer the summarised versions on here – financial ‘language’ makes my head hurt!) I am also wondering exactly what the Orcish press are hoping to achieve by keeping the truth of the absolute shambles that is Rangers off field operations out of the spotlight? What do they really gain?

Keepign the Orcish Hoardes in line? Keeping ticket sales up? Keeping the SFA and UEFA from banning them from Europe before they even win a place in it? Keeping the SFA from having a little problem with compensating the clubs who were cheated by rangers getting a license they didn’t deserve??

I think a little bit of all of these BUT – playing it down doesn’t make it go away.

So I can only reach the conclusion that those who make the news in the mainstream either (a) believe they are so powerful that by hushing it all up it will just go away and everything will be alright – a form of delusion. or (b) they just believe Craig Whyte because they are so blinded by their love of rangers – again, delusional.

A lot of us think in terms of how Celtic supporters would take what is going on at Ibrox if it were happening to us and the answer is we’d be demanding the truth and seeking an alternative way out. They seem to be demanding a fairy story and a dummy to pacify them and help them get off to sleep.

I mean, there is ‘news management’ and there is what happens in reality. A company can announce ‘rationalisation’ and most people pay no attention – the reality is people lose jobs, homes get lost, relationships destroyed and so on. The soft soaping does not make the reality any easier for the person who was ‘rationalised’ – paid off to you and me…… and the same will be true of rangers when the chickens come home to roost. They will find that money spent on news management has not helped to persuade a Tax Tribunal that they don’t owe any money, it will not ease administration. At best it may have helped to persuade some people that they deserve to be let off lightly – but only their own people who would think that anyway.

Dealing in fantasy reportage of the situation will not, ultimately help them. It used to anger me when I read the lies in the papers. Now it makes me laugh. The truth is the truth. Rangers are still doomed.

And I am still bemused by their ‘tactics’.

Of course there is one last conclusion to reach – the one many of us had reached when Whyte bought the club. That is, he is simply stalling, playing for time, keeping the peepul on side until the ideal time for him to do his smash and grab act and strip whatever there is left of rangers when the curtain comes down………………….

But then we would say that wouldn’t we……

That’s shocking, pal. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

  14. Jhilday, absolutely shocking, hope he gets caught,we can certainly do without that type of supporter at celtic park,

hope that doesnt put you off going to games in the future

  15. We will always have contrasting views on the team and individual performances after a match like today’s.

Bottom line is we got a W and 3 points and that is what counts.

Certainly makes a long journey home more palatable.

  16. Thanks, fellas.

Your sympathy, and that of the folk on my bus, takes a bit of the sting out of it.

I’ll try to contact Celtic tomorrow.

id agree with that pretty much spot on.

What I dont like about Samaras being used as either the target man or the crossfield ball is it leaves the lazy option on the pitch. Its a get out for tired minds but rarely either gives Samaras a hope in hell of challenging for it, or it is good enough but he doesnt win it.

Thats where I like to see our wide midfielders busting a gut to move into space close by the defenders to give them the option of a pass on the along the carpet – which didnt happen (and rarely does).

  18. I had an eventful game, first of all my brother in law lost my works’ season ticket on the train on the way to Parkhead – not sure how to explain that one, then the game and then I get done by the polis in Bridgeton for drinking a can of lager in the street. lol, £40 on the spot number, to be fair they were very nice about it.. some big lanky female polis, no backing down from her.

Victor Wanyama was the difference in both halfs.. what a player, his goal was superb! and his defending and his midfield play. Kayal was gash and so wa wee Jimmy. Big Dan played well and the back four generally were very solid. MIB tried to ruin the ‘Victor party’ but failed – fair play to big Foster..

The food in the ground was great, I had my first Turkey dinner of Xmas – all in all a very happy bhoy. Hail Hail.

Jesus man, did no one around you do anything to help?

  20. jhilday – sickening. I suppose every large group of people is going to have a-holes in it. I hope they get him and give him a lifelong season book to Ibrox or Tynecastle or both.

By the way where were our wonderful stewards who are usually hanging about the turnstiles? Last time I was there one of them took a dislike to me and examined my ticket for no apparent reason after he watched me struggle with it while trying to get in to see the game.

Was it possible the guy was on something?

  21. Two telling headlines tonight from the Observer:

“Victor Wanyama’s goal enough to give Celtic victory over vibrant Hearts”

    and the Scotsman:

“Plucky Hearts edged out by Celtic”

What game were these buffoons at?

(for any lurkers from the darkside “vibrant” means pulsating with vigor and energy whilst “plucky” is normally associated with bravery.)

  23. dwptom – i heard the half time summary from BBC Scotland – Hearts were ‘great’. I listened on thinking Celtic must be getting pushed back and torn a new one. Nope, they went on to say Hearts were getting ten men behind the ball and it was all about their defensive display!! And John Hughes then says ‘Celtic have dominated’ and Forster hadn’t a save to make.

So Hearts were great – at not playing football and not conceding a goal

  25. The Wan Wanyama is the way forward. The scouting staff have (rightly in some cases) taken flak for poor performance. However, when they unearth a diamond like VICTOR, they are to be complemented. He looks to me like a young Patrick Viera; powerful, direct, a superb clean tackler and most importantly, a fitba player! A brilliant match winning goal an aw!

  27. Good win today. Well done to the TEAM. We are growing together as players and management The support is getting behind us more and more and there seems to be a bit less negativity.

JHilday. Sorry for your trouble today. Please make sure Celtic and the Police follow this up we don’t need morons like that any way near our club
