  1. A quality goal and a quality save.

sometimes in the midst of a real hard battle your better quality wins you the game with one or two key moments.

So it has proved today for the Tic.

Any doubt over the orcs result today? Heard a short snippet of Fenlon saying eh thought Hibs should have had a penalty before rangers got theirs.

  2. The Battered Bunnet on

Top marks today to the guys at the Kano foundation. Well done guys.

Thought the performance overall today was sub-prime. Little in the way if creation, lots of slack passes in the midfield, Hooper and Stokes showing little at all that I can remember, bar Stokes’ header of the bar which was a poor attempt.

Terrific save from big Fraser. Terrific. The appreciation he got at the end of the game has been a long time coming.

Peach of a hit from Victor, and he broke up Hearts possession time and again, but his distribution today was sloppy.

Thing that worries me is the constant changing in the middle of the park. It’s the key element in the game, and we had 3 different pairings in there today, as we had last week. Swapping things about does nothing for the rhythm of the team, or the organisation.

The points at the end of the game are very welcome, but the bhoys need to pick it up somewhat if they want to maintain their run of wins.

  3. Eyes wide open.

Completely agree that the tactics and formation worked against us.

They allow average opponents to give us problems and nullify our attacking threat.

We are to obsessed with possession but seem to have no strategy for positive motion

  5. Bit of a silence on Scottish radio on ‘The Penalty’…..big shock that…….

That Hertz penalty in ANY OTHER country is an absolute scandal, an investigation……

Be careful Bhoys, and especially Lenny – don’t get used to it, don’t accept it – NOW is the time to highlight these things – NOW ! Get on the TV, the Radio, highlight the cheating……..NOW !

Gordie, Rome, wondering just what they will come up with next to save the Rednecks…….

PS Don’t raise our hopes for Thursday night, Udinese are a cracking wee side…..fast, direct, intelligent and it’s bl**dy freezing in Udine right now….

Going by the reaction of the media, you would think we were asking for the same preferential treatment the hun get.

But as you say in the meantime all that can be done is to harass them, and keep on at them, surely fifa at some point will take notice, or maybe not…

  7. Just back from CP

The fix was called in and the fix got well and truly foxed.

Brilliant result. Loved Broony’s noising up of Hammill after the game.

Saw the Hibs game earlier. Der Hun were lucky. 2 goals gifted by the same Hibbee player adnd an earlier sitter missed by Griffiths.

    Their game was very poor

  8. Eyes wide open

Sorry mate I missed your comment – too engrossed in the game and in texting a Lassie I met last night (A Slovak with red hair no less, a rare thing indeed).

Not sure I agree entirely with you. Yes the system was not working but the system doesn’t cause players to pass as badly. You are right about the space though.

Anyway, regardless, it was good to win despite a very poor decision from the referee.

  9. hamiltontim says Oh ah up Kano and the Foundation x1000 on

    What a 3 points!!!

It’s tough watching Celtic at times but I wouldn’t ever swap it for the world. If we continue to display the same will to win, when not playing well, then the title is ours.

Victor Wanyama, big Foster and Cha take a bow, three great performances from you today.

  10. The thing that worry’s me is the the thought of Scott Brown playing regularly in central midfield,,,for me when he came on he seemed more interested in arguing and fouling Heart’s players,,,if he play’s then it has to be on the Right hand side,he makes us weaker by playing centrally!!!

Just tried Google Translate, but response was…. “que”?

Saltires En Sevilla….. thanks for standing up for me…again. You would have thought that my point about Billy McNeill’s name would have firmly put this nonsense to bed. I refuse to change my moniker to e.g. “Dushanbe Seamus O’Toole” just to appease the short-sighted. Your defence of me, whilst highly appreciated, shouldn’t be necessary, but, hey, CQN is a virtual pub with no beer, so at least there’ s only an “electronic falling out” whenever “we huv ae diffrance o’ a’ pinion” in ra greater Celtic family.

Substitution of Kayal was strange unless he had a knock I would have brought on Brown for Forrest but Lennie makes these strange decisions.H.H.

  13. WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED.

Ghod, it’s hard to support the ‘Tic sometimes. But what a result. Radio Scotland’s commentator was gutted, as they say. Was that the goal of the season? What a player. Victor is already worth his weight in gold.

  14. According tae the Grape Vine…

  15. Great result against a hearts only here for a draw

Victor and fraser will get the headlines but we got a good team performance only thing missing was the goal from our front two who both came close

Was behind goal at penalty I didn’t see any contact though victors hand was up ref took a guess and was not helped by his linesman who was awful all day

A vital 3 points keeps the run going and a good moment for the team with big Fraser pen save

We were drawing at half time but won the game. Gie the manager a break buddy eh.

  17. ibleedgreenandwhite,

I couldn’t agree more about Brown. He gave away more stupid fouls in the first 10 minutes of the second half than the whole team did in the first. I presume Loovens picked up an injury, likewise Kayal. Forrest had, by his standards, an off day. But we have found a player in Wanyama.

  18. Evening Bhoys

Not long in from the game… However discovered Wanyama wants to take a bow…

Brilliant player and the good thing is being only 19, he is going to get better and better….

agreed the early pressure hearts had was caused by Scott giving away 3 free kicks all for stupid tackles

In the first half victor won the ball without fouling

I like Scott but out wide for when James is needing a rest or not at all

I would go with victor and Bethan with Joe as first choice back up for centre mid two

  21. The only thing that the referee could conceivably give the penalty for would be Victor challenging the hearts player leading with his arm, but it seems the ref has said he saw a handball. The footage shows neither Broonie nor Big Victor touched the ball with hand or arm. Trust the ref will now be marked down for his performance.

  24. On the train on way home from game.

Delighted with the result but not the performance. Our first effort on target was 57 minutes!!!

I wish Neil would stop messing with the midfield. Kayal and Wanyama are our best midfielders and should be left to run the midfield.

I see the real Sammi is back. Bring back the guy who was impersonating him during the last couple of weeks.

Remember what you said at the AGM Neil. He’s the sort of player who could get you the sack. It was true then and is true now.

  25. I ‘m one of Scott brown’s biggest critics however I thought he made a good contribution today.

I would have hooked Sammi to bring on Ki but then again that will not surprise you.

  26. Great result today. The way we did it will give the team lots of belief. Hearts had all their players behind the ball and were hard to break down. Hooper missed one great chance first half and stokes should have scored with the header which hit the bar. We missed a left back with pace today and it def affected sammis perfromance. Any winger needs an overlapping fullback to help create space now and again. I thought Blackman might have been given a chance today. Great goal from Wanyama today. I really like him but thought his passing (which is normally excellent) was a bit off today.

Lenny’s ‘strange decisions’ have turned our fortunes around buddy. We have many forces against us right now, it’s time to stand together behind our manager.

    SB

He’s worth ten times that already :)

  28. Didn’t see the game today, but it sounds like Sammi put in either a man of the match, or was a poor impersonation of a footballer and should have been hooked. Which was it?
