The reality of the situation is that you now wouldn’t be confident playing any team in the SPL. Our wage bill must be triple Hibs, they played with heart, we do our playing in media interviews. How far behind must we fall before enough is enough. We are playing like a mid table SPL side coming out with the odd good performance but unable to show any consistancy. Any signs of a slow return to form were cruelly extinguished today, especially in the second half.
There had been a few signs of inventiveness from Stokes & Hooper early on but the ball arrived with them so rarely that we never got the chance to test them often enough.
And, though Hibs were equally poor our right flank was exposed worryingly again as Griffiths replicated what Sproule had done last Wednesday.
All in all, we are dripping too many points for comfort this season. Neil may have to be ruthless with those that do not have the mental strength to cope with our home crowd. Only Charlie and Victor showed that mental toughness today.
I am not an advocate of sacking or boycotting but Neil will have to shake up his team somehow.
I am very disappointed but I’m not staying on here to get into fights with good Celtic men. Gutted!
Yes, we have injuries and a back four that chops and changes every game BUT we had more than enough talent in the team on the park today to wipe the floor with any other SPL 11.
What is going wrong? There is a malaise running through the team. The youngest and least experienced bhoy on the pitch is the one who is carrying the others. No leaders!!!
Today was reminiscent of last week against Aberdeen. Dull, boring and predictable. Why didn’t we try to change our approach / tactics / formation??? Probably because we don’t have anyone in the dug-out who knows how to turn things around.
I am a big Neil Lennon fan – we share a surname!!! I have always been behind him but even though my heart was delighted when he was appointed manager, my head said no. The Celtic manager position should NEVER be occupied by a novice. I would LOVE it if Neil could turn the corner and start to get some convincing performances out of the team (even though the league has gone) but in my heart, I think his time is up.
The problem now is who would want to take the job should it become available? I don’t buy into all of the stuff about it being one of the biggest and best jobs in world football – that was in our glorious past. The reality of the situation is that ours is still one of the biggest global brands in the game but we are a poor team in a poor league and 12 points behind a dire local rival and have a board who refuse to invest when it is needed most.
Having said all of that, I will still be there at every home league game and will give my 100% support – but Saturdays are not the same anymore.
That’s my newly married wife off the phone asking me if I have gone to Cuba to hand roll those. fags. I love her ability to retain and return my cutting jibes. So I have to go. Sorry I can’t stay on and debate. Let’s keep the focus on the extinction of the hun for now.

I am afraid to say that I have just lost faith in Neil Lennon’s ability to manage Celtic Football Club.
The nagging doubt I have had about this since his appointment was abated when his teams bitch slapped Walters Myths during a glorious 3 month spell at the start of 2011. But there has been no progress since then. Not that I can see.
And the lack of organisation on the park is there for all to see. You’d have to be blind not to see it. I hate to give any credit to the Orcs but I watched a bit of their game today and when they lose the ball their midfield are back in no time in a recognisable formation in front of their back four. Space is at a premium for attacking teams. It’s basic stuff but if your players are also that X amount better than the opposition then it wins you most games. This is what is meant by earning the right to play/ win in the SPL. You have to work hard.
It amazes me that Neil Lennons teams often look lazy and disorganised. I hate saying this but that is what I see.
I was encouraged against Rennes and Hibs midweek but stated that we need a four or five game winning streak before we can announce any new found confidence in the team. We just don’t seem able to do it.
If the board and Neil decide to tough it out then I’ll support the team regardless and I will be willing him to turn it round but it is, as someone else stated on here last week, getting like Paul Le Guen.
I don’t like our great club being laughed at. Especially as we are also about to be shafted, yet again by the cheating ways of the establishment club.
Could they have believed their luck in how incompetently Celtic have thrown away league after league?
God I am starting to sound like all the posters I have criticised in the past for negativity but I am going to have to admit that I have been wrong about the footballing operations at Celtic Park.
Sorry Neil but I think you should walk away. Go and serve your apprenticeship somewhere else. If it works out and you still want it then maybe we’ll meet again in a few years.
Tommy Burns had enough humility to come back as assistant and coach having previously been manager. How often has that happened anywhere at any club? I thin k we miss a Tommy Burns figure really badly. Yes, Neil is a Celtic man but Tommy was the real heart and soul type of Celtic man who is a rarity among those employed by the club. His love of Celtic was bigger than his ego.
It’s a pity more of the current squad never knew him.
