I think the pundits are more than entitled to analyse and point out our defensive mistakes- I have no problem with that. They go over the score when they do lazy analysis and national stereotyping.

If I saw the same attitudes being visited on English clubs, I’d credit it as fair opinion.

But that is not what they do. What they give us is lazy and condescending. I don’t think they even know their audience. I suspect they were watching the Spurs game when they should have been working on our game. We pay to receive this abuse.

  2. I wonder if Ronny using ‘boring’ and ‘EPL’ in the same sentence recently has hit a raw nerve with the Anglos? Just a thought as to why they were so scathing about us tonight on BT Sport.

  3. Some perspective:

    .

With 15 minutes to go Internazionale brought on a sub (Kovacic) whose value was about the same as the combined total for ten of the Celtic starting eleven (exclude Johansen).

We operate on completely different levels, yet apart from a little bad luck for all three of their goals, they certainly weren’t 4½ times as good as Celtic.

Well done Bhoys. A fantastic recovery and a performance of which you should be proud. Now go over there, have some self belief (and defensive discipline!) and beat them on their own patch…

Wow, I though we grow up tonight, three mistakes cost us but we wouldn’t give up, the birth of a real team, we are better than them, all it needs is time and we have plenty

Got to admit after 13 mins I thought holly feck and was tempted to switch the TV off

    ——————————————————————————-

to my shame, that’s just what i dun…..went off to play online Texas holdem…..met a German mate who gave me updates…..then poker game abandoned…..has any team scored 3 against Inter in a Europa League ever ;-))…..

    H.H.

  6. Just in from the game. This team proved tonight that they are growing together.

I seem to remember an Ajax team with Cruyff and all leaving with a 2-2 draw and thinking they were through………

Time for history to repeat itself

As always proud to be part of this wonderful football family

    Hail Hail

  7. I posted this tonight at 0-2

    Keep faith with Ronny.

    ———

    Faith restored.

I think Jock Stein would have appreciated the style of play tonight. Apart from the unfortunate goalkeeper errors, we played like a Stein team.

Loved it and we have a young team to build around now.

    Keep faith with Ronny.

  8. Magnificentseven on

had a quick look back, some amount of new posters around at 8.10-20, they left pretty quickly though………..

Tonight was great experience for the team.

You could actually see them growing in stature as the game went on.

Get into the Champion’s League group stage next year & we’ll be getting better & better.

Come on ye bhoys in green.

  11. cliftonville celt from belfast on

Fantastic performance from our young team tonight

Proper Celtic side playing the Celtic way that many have cried out for for years

Since when did we need the English media to give us any praise ? To hell with them I don’t care – they will when we tear one of their teams asunder

This team maybe realised just how good they could be tonight – they will get better – Ronnie will get better – they will add to the team – strap in and get ready for a wonderful ride !

  12. In a crazy way, I think we go into the 2nd leg in a better frame of mind and with a better chance, then if we played a clever game and squeaked a one nil win.

Just can’t express how happy I am, I don’t care about the mistakes, the what might have beens. I am just proud and happy.

  13. Just back from game.

Immense effort from Celtic on an emotional night at Celtic Park.

Thought we were tremendous and deserved more, but what a mighty effort from one and all.

Biton my MOTM, Brown not far behind. Need to watch recording to confirm.

    Exhausted.

Worth sending that to the tubes on a BT

I doubt it will impact as humphries is a public school prefect on work experience, Sutton is a perma raging parody of a pundit desperate for Ronny to fail so as Sutton might be right. Macmanaman is intellectually challenged at best.

Anyway, delighted for Ronny and the team.

That was brilliant and I love being a tim

  15. Big Effe was class as well with his cunning don’y pass to me hot potato style. A close vice man of the match award (do they still have the yellow jersey’s in Lennoxtown ?)

    Hail Hail.

  16. Pogmathonyahun aka Laird of the Smiles on

I reckon we have as good a chance or even marginally better than Liverpool, Spurs and Ajax of going through to the next round. I would have Guidetti on from the start not because he is a better player but I think he will thrive on this type of game.

  17. Good to hear Ronny thank the support for chanting for Craig Gordon, it is so very important and shows unity between fans and the team,I’m sure the player felt the benefit of it

  18. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/ on

    Gordy

Defence training and just overall experience Paul has got!! Sack one of them sports scientists if need to

  19. BigChipsUK – Honesty, integrity and fair play since 1887

the whole comparisons about cost of squads is irrelevant…..Neil Lennon & Gordon Strachan proved that…..in 12 to 18 months I expect RD’s squad to be up there with a bit of panache…..

Tin Hat on…..barring a run of miracles, Celtic will never be competing for the European Cup…..yep, the money made from qualifying for the group stages/last 32 is massive…..are we prepared to accept that? or another eventual run to the Europa Cup final…..where is our level….I say both, European Cup group, drop into Europa…..sorry
