Hazard needs to work on his glare having completed another fait accompli. No need to look so surprised. Other than that……. he’s the bee’s knees.

  2. People saying Barkas is finished, should be sold and we should stick with the kid Hazard?? Barkas has had shocking press since he arrived – SMSM knives were out from the get go blaming him for stuff which was clearly not his fault and poor guy playing behind that defence????? Then out come the “he’ll no do” brigade to add to the SMSM agenda an now the guy with 5 yrs first team experience, CL and EL experience and the Greece national keeper is a dud? The media have hammered him in a way that would never be done to player from any other club and we as supporters are a little guilty of not giving him support simply because he is not FF. Barkas is no dud, we have invested a lot of dough in this guy and we should be managing him and supporting him – suggesting that Hazard is a better keeper and we should jettison out most expensive ever GK is nonsense.

    Ton helmet on……..

  3. Last season’s 4th choice keeper enjoys the benefit of a better defensive unit in front of him whilst pulling off no great saves. Still concedes 2 in 2.

This season’s big buy keeper enjoys the sieve in front of him whilst pulling off no great saves.

Why don;t we just put in the big buy keeper behind the better defensive unit and build his confidence?

    Just a thought.

  4. Moisey 17,

Have been saying this for weeks.Have asked repeatedly for someone to tell me what mistakes he has made.Deflections, penalties, shocking defending, does not matter, the lynch mob were after him,so that’s it.

Shocking way to treat a new signing, trying to settle in.

  5. St Stivs @ 7:40pm

Thanks for that. I was initially against the idea of protest before a match and still think Friesdorfer`s `before the AGM` suggestion would have been a better choice. Even so, that looks like a protest which showed support for the team and looks to have been well conducted.

  6. It seems Eddy and one or two others were asked to stay and support the effort for 10. It has not worked. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but selling Eddy and buying Toney would have been a better solution. Eddy quite frankly isn’t doing enough for the team and although a huge call we should consider moving him on in January if we can get another striker in. Eddy, Ntcham and Elhamed can leave for me in January and at least 3 must come in. I wonder if was could get FF back and if someone like Snodgrass an option. Big signings and big personalities are a must to carry this team until May.

  7. Barkas is in a new cultural environment…learning a new language…give him time to bond and be able to communicate effectively with his new team-mates…crazy that some would write him off so early

    H.H.

  8. Phew – thought it was only me, clearly not👍🏻

Is it just be or do Celtic signings get zero time and zero tolerance for errors or imperfect play?? Media hunt them at first opportunity and honestly we are a little guilty of it too.

  9. Banda – just watched Sportscene and thought exactly the same regarding DU goal – the difference in reporting is just staggering

  10. TLT:

`give him time to bond and be able to communicate effectively with his new team-mates`

Give him time? Don`t be silly man ! This is Celtic and this is Scotland so Barkas must be rubbish.

    Bada @ 10:04 pm

I am still waiting for McGregor and his Fantastic Four defenders to receive any criticism for that goal.

    Celtic aint just for Christmas.

` Media hunt them at first opportunity and honestly we are a little guilty of it too.`

I believe the Media is much more important in creating opinion than many give it `credit` for.

Conor Hazard is 1.98Metres, wee Vaselis Barkas is 1.95Metres

BSR – I posted that the other night, I think Barkas height must be wrong he is a lot smaller standing in goal than Hazard.

  14. I head for slumber now with a little more Hope in my Heart than I did on Wednesday night.

    `night all.

Barkas will in time become one of the best goalkeepers Europe has to offer.

  16. Oh, one final comment and nothing to do with football.

I think we have seen the end of Ronnie O`Sullivan`s time as a Big Tournament winning player.

  17. HS – Hasta manana

Thought our final ball was poor in first half today and we reverted back to passing along the back as we run out of ideas but second half was much, much better. Let’s take that and build on it.

Now we have a quadrebel to win.

Could be the catalyst to kickstart us.

Wouldn’t be too sure of that. It’s easy to get an old dog to learn new tricks. The retired Hugh Keevins is collecting a small wad from agents of Sevco to put a heretics slant on things anything Celtic.

Anyone know why Celtic hire buses from a Rangers Directors company?

Rangers died.barffed out in identity terms eternally.liquidation 2012

The rangers fc interim chairman owns a bus company.wow.how much were Celtic owed as a creditor in 2012?.there has always been business.i attend Celtic v trfc games- am i contributing to olfrim? Its a toughie :-)

    Cheapest.covid compliant maybe lol

  20. Barkas is 6ft 5in – in old money. Plenty big enough to be a big part in our future and honestly Neils management of the player stinks IMHO

  21. The way Brighton are going they might be wanting Big Shane back

To help shore up their defence

    Oh aye

  22. MOISEY17 on 13TH DECEMBER 2020 10:39 PM

Barkas should never have been thrown in the way he was Arguably NFL deduced reasonably. Surely this squad can carry him? Er naw.

  23. We don’t need a new manager but to help Neil more with his own team. Who does he go to for counsel? Kennedy? He has had Mjalby and Thomson in the past, Duff recently. Maybe Hartson or equivalent would give him the counsel he needs ( and the players)

  25. AN TEARMANN on 13TH DECEMBER 2020 10:38 PM

The company concerned tender for the business like any other. There’s no favouratism or conflict of interest.

  26. Hedman was signed on the back of being the keeper in a pretty decent Swedish WC 2002 team.

Yes – he was at Coventry but they were Premier League then.

I was pretty pleased when he signed but he had a whole bunch of personal issues that manifested themselves later.

In the long list of players we thought were stars but were duds for us – Gillespie, Gravesen, Ljungberg, Wright, Hayes, Slater, Juninho, Jarosik, Camara, Larsson.

  27. PETETHEBEAT on 13TH DECEMBER 2020 10:56 PM

    ———————————————————-

Stopped reading at Jarosik. He was worth that free kick.

  28. Hello, hello – good to be back, good to be back!

Three points bagged which was great after a shapeless first half. Calum gets plenty ball but still seems unproductive with it – I still insist he needs a rest.

Big Ajer strolled MoTM, delighted to see Duffy getting some confidence back in his game and Soro again does the Broony role better, yet tired as the game ran down.

Really enjoying Darren O’Dea’s commentary on CTV; translates his knowledge of the game very fluently.

Only bugbear; players on all sides faking for fouls (except wee Jerry) and refs not properly pacing out 10 yards for free kicks.

If Hazard get the cup final gig Christmas will be here before Barkas’s first save.

Barkas had his first save v Ross Co. in Dingwall , we still await his second save !
