CELTIC v LAZIO, RENNES AND CLUJ

0

CELTIC have been drawn to play against Lazio, Rennes and Cluj in the Europa League group stages.

Remarkably, Neil Lennon’s men will face the Romanian side who knocked them out of the Champions League just over a fortnight ago.

And, just like last season, the Hoops will play a team they met in the qualifiers when they knocked out Rosenborg from Europe’s elite competition and then played them again in the secondary tournament.

The ballot also paired the Parkhead side with the French Cup winners who played a friendly in Glasgow last month in a goalless draw as both teams got the summer rust out of their limbs.

Coincidentally, it allowed Lennon to parade new £7million signing Christopher Jullien for his debut against his fellow-countryman.

The centre-back netted his first goal for the Hoops in last night’s 4-1 second leg play-off win over AIK Stockholm in Sweden.

Dates will be announced later.
