  1. I just checked in the mirror.

    Not a pretty sight,

    BUT

    I’m still a Celt

    Through thick and thin

Or as my dad used to say

    The rough and the soor.

Delbhoy, language Timothy. Besides, point is, he’s the manager he needs to get his message across that deliver results. When one or two don’t get it, you can believe its down to them. When the whole team look lost (over two matches)’ questions are asked. Also do you believe team selections were right, never mind what the tactics were supposed to be?

    Really Dire, really, really Dire.

  4. The damage was done in the first leg, but credit to Mr Berg who did not park the bus. We were beaten by a better side, both in terms of players and tactics. Are we worse than last year? Yes, obviously, although NL mostly got results by…parking the bus. Take away our one, wonderful result against Barcelona, and we have not done so well over the last few years, but on the occasions we have done well, we have had better players. I suspect that most of us would kill for a Gary Hooper just now. We don’t have anything up front, or much creativity. Of course we need to stick with Ronny (4 competitive games!), but we don’t have any goals in this team (against a good side) and we don’t have any “fantasia”, as the Italians say.

Just logged on and saw your post.

I don’t have to post my view as I agree with everything you said.

I hope that reflects the mood of the support.

My brother has bought a job lot batch of golf trousers on the net..it cost him a bit but they where selling pretty sharp initially and it looked like he might make a profit..however now he is left with all the unpopular sizes like 28waist 44 waist /long leg e.t.c he has nothing left to sell that anyone wants………peter lawell will be in the exact same position in about 3 weeks time!

Can I order a 44 waist and 29 short leg, the diet is fecked , can I order through Pay Pal :))

  8. have the scottish champions ever exited the european cup/champs league so convincingly over two legs in a knockout match?….i cant recall a worse result off hand thru history?

  9. Hugh Bonkle fae Dallas on

Sometimes when you play Russian roulette you end up with a bullet in the head.

  10. It really isn’t the case that the players don’t care. Who wants their fans to boo them or see their reputation plummet? The players started with plenty of hunger and belief but it evaporated with their goal. And that’s a big problem.

Our players don’t have a ruthless streak in them. When we lose, particularly in Europe, it’s often in an embarrassing fashion. Had we scored the opener, we might have actually went on and came close to going through, but when things went the other way the players collapsed. Same happened last week, the season before, and most seasons before that.

We need to make sure any players we sign this summer have that winning mentality.

Don’t really care what you dad told you. I seen a good bet and took it,that’s life. Been going home and away for the last 20 odd years and will be there supporting the team everywhere this year again.

  14. In my head I didn’t expect us to go through. I thought we would probably have a night like Partisan Belgrade with a lot of passion heart and good honest toil

We were weak in all respects

    Unforgivable

  15. hindsight is a great thing but i had reservations

about the soul of our club when i heard lawell

trumpeting about lord livingstone of parkhead at the

agm and voting against giving workers a living wage.

what does livingstone, bankier and brian wilson do

Painful viewing, much worse than the first leg

Ronny will take the flak but I think this performance/ result was coming even under NL

*absolutely and that’s why he was packaged.

  18. Naivety and arrogance.

Thats what cost us. Naivety on the part of the manager, who played completely the wrong team in Warsaw. Not only did his selection leave us exposed, it can have done nothing for the confidence of Stokes and Griffiths , to have been benched in favour of a guy who only arrived the day before.

Arrogance on behalf of the players, cost us. Its abundantly clear some of them think they are too good to harry & chase. Legia worked much much harder than we did . They thoroughly deserved everything they got. I think they may be a decent pot 4 team, but we made it easy for them.

Finally the reduction in quality from 3 years ago is frightening. Whether its inexcusable or not is another question. The strategy of sign young with value uppermost in mind has worked well. However any strategy, no matter how clever is only as good as your ability to execute.

We are not executing as well as we have done over the previous 3 years. I don’t have an off the cuff solution. That would require a lot of soul searching. What I do know is that we don’t even have a Europa league quality team at this moment.

I doubt a wholesale blooding of our youth is the way to go. McGregor is presumably the highest rated , and whilst he did not disgrace himself at all over the 2 legs, i don’t see real star quality there.

Signing SPL players won’t work. We have steamrollered over everyone in the SPL in the last 2 years. There is virtually nobody who is better than we already have. When we were last in as big a mess as this we had inspirational strong leaders to drive us forward.

If Ronny is to be a success, and the vast majority agreed with the decision to appoint him, then he needs supported . From the stands, from the boardroom and by his players. By his players I mean ” his players”

This feels like the right time for a mini clear out. We have a league to win , so we can’t go crazy. But some guys have to go. If you were judging it on tonight you would be hard pressed to want to keep anyone, however we need a bit more perspective than that.

    My list to be sold.

Mulgrew. A liability, back to his original form when he first signed, and his ability with a dead ball is a distant memory.

Forster. Just because we will get a big fee for him, and he deserves his chance in England.

Stokes. Looks completely ill at ease and not suited to a high tempo pressing game

Pukki. Has something , not sure we will ever see it

    Balde. Never shown anything

Kayal. If he can’t get ahead of Mulgrew in that midfield he should leave for his own sanity.

Van Djick. Great against poor teams. However too many weaknesses at CL level, and if we get offered £7 million we should do a deal.

Biton. If he was fully fit tonight, then he will never be able to play in the system the manager wants.

Boerrighter. Was he even on the bench tonight ?

There is a major rebuilding job needed. It will take a lot of money, which we have access to and can raise with player sales . The question is what is our strategy now, and can we execute.

If its the same as before, then we better start executing much better. Failing that we need to consider where we are going, and what would deliver a better team

Naw mate…. How about just waken’ng up to reality.

The lad Armstrong at Utd is probably out our reach now anyway. So my vision on this seasons team is more like wishful thinking.

U must be one of the simpletons that thinks we shud sign Zidane , Baggio, and Georgi Hagi.

Well man if I were you, I’d be asking for my money back.

It’s like paying to see a Michael Bay movie, the more he gets the more the studio will just let him make more.

I have the option of cancelling my subscription to Celtic TV. I almost paid for the year but financially that would have been daft for me.

    Glad I didn’t now.

There are limits and Celtic have now taken the proverbial once too often for me and many.

  23. While I agree that the problems run deep, we will overcome, it’s what we do.

I remember the supporters bus trip home from the 5-1 drubbing in the south side on 27th August 1988, at the time, so soon after the ecstasy of the previous season, it seemed like the world was collapsing around us, IT WASN’T!

We’ve had good times since and will have good times again.

Someone mentioned last week that disappointment was temporary but liquidation was permanent, be thankful for what we have (and not just in football terms, when you look around the planet).

Tomorrow we will still be Celtic Supporters and our glorious yet often troubled history will continue.

  24. Jeezo, Packie and Tom English now telling us that the cause and solution to our problems is the return/ absence of thems….

From English, as a BBC employee, a nonsense but a la BBC….

However, from Packie, one of us, unforgivable to buy into that crap.
