  1. Go tell the Spartim on

I was pleased with how we played and how some players stepped up to be counted, Bitton has plenty of previous for getting sent off in big games, he’s neat and tidy but he’s not a central defender (he just doesn’t think like one) sadly before the game we had little option.

Do you think Kennedy’s torn face at our goal was down to him knowing what was potentially coming with Bitton and Barkas? Those two apart the team and coaches did well

  2. I have my reservations about Burton’s temperament

I would suggest that everyone have a look at the sending off , look at his eyes, he was somewhere else

He got a bad head knock and did not look recovered when he resumed

Celtic have duty of care and it appears that the medical staff missed or ignored an obvious concussion

  3. Eddie should have gone off instead of Abada.

    Abada…. (Eddie)….Furuhashi

    julienne, Starfelt…..when upto speed .

lots of positives last night .

Great to see /hear our fans in side our fantastic stadium , cannae wait till we’re all allowed back in belting out our songs

  4. One of the most frustrating things about last season was how we would be playing well only to concede with the first shot on target.

While last night was a good performance, we’ve managed to concede to a team that had one shot on target.

Barkas is simply not good enough. While he can play out from the back, we can’t afford to be conceding every time the opposition get a shot on target.

We need keeper as a matter of priority.

Got to see the incidents on Celtic Star, had to watch their goal 3 or 4 times. No idea what was in the goalies head.

The sending off looked like Bitton was on drugs, our goal was a good one though👍

  6. Barkas should be sold or let go ASAP. Should never be allowed near the stadium. I could have saved that last night with one hand and not spilled my pint. Surely the manager can never pick him again.

  7. i feel better about the game now than I did last night – some very good football and it looked like the left hand knew what the right hand was doing, two howlers aside. Keep the youth in the back.

Well, all is not lost.We are more than capable in getting through next Wednesday, have to be careful in the friendly against West Ham United on Saturday, regarding player safety.

    PS

Talking to an old friend this morning, and we were reminiscing about old Celtic recordings, and I said to him about a singer Darby Coyle who recorded 1-2-3-4-5 in reference to the 5-1 game at Celtic Park against ‘them’.Do anyone remember ‘Darby Coyle’.

    STILL CELTIC

  9. If we’re going to play a goalie who’s good with the ball at his feet but can’t fill the goals or make a save, we’d be as well to put wee Soro in the no1 tap and play ‘backie in’

  10. Sláinte Ange on

I thought Ryan Christie had a very good game last night. This got me thinking about the reason why he was so poor (some may say abysmal) last season. This is pure speculation on my part, but could it be that he was dissatisfied with NFL and the instructions he was giving to him. To the extent that he just ignored them and did his own thing?

He has refused to sign all contract extension proposals and clearly wanted away. I don’t think his performance last night was to attract a move away, but rather to demonstrate to Ange that, under his management, he could still be a valuable asset to Celtic.

I may be completely wrong on this ~ it’s just a theory ~ time alone will tell.

    In Ange we trust.

  11. Never been Christies biggest fan. But have to admit that he had very good game last night.

As for Bitton, being saying on here for years what an absolute clown this guy is. Strolls about the park thinking he’s Busquets.

  12. If the linesman done his job properly he would have flagged the cheatin wee bassa for offside (2 yards) and Bitton wouldn’t have been carded……….until later😊

  13. celticforever on

I think what we saw last night is the style of play Ange is trying to play

We will be flying when Ange gets in a couple of signings he wants

I am optimistic we have a right good manager in place in Ange who

from some of his interviews shows its his way or the highway

Still doesnt excuse Bittons actions especially knowing he was

    already on a yellow card

His red card stopped us in our tracks when we were in a period

    of ascendency

In my opinion would have scored another before half time if he

    hadnt been red carded

The Bitton sending off was almost as disastrous as the hun game at the bigot dome😵

Yip….. agree with that , my point being he’s had that in his game ( rashness) since he arrived , hence the ” until later”

Good luck to this young man in Berlin …

…. but this is human asset management to an unacceptable degree.

And many large clubs are doing it.

Bought in 2015 for £400k aged just 18

(last day of transfer window – BTW)

6 years at Liverpool – ZERO appearances

    ZERO successful work permit applications

Seven loans (with loan clubs picking up a chunk of wages)

    Sold in 2021 for £6.5m plus 10% sell-on

    Piece of meat stuff. Disgraceful.

  18. Thoughts on last night’s game.

I was disappointed in the result, although I thought we played a lot better than I expected, after watching us against PNE. To me, Callum MacGregor was out best player, followed by the young Israeli, Soro and Christie. Thought too that the 2 young centre backs acquiited themselves well.

In my allocated seat, right down at the front (horrible view), I was quite possibly the closest to Mir Bitton and his confrontation with the Danish cheat. There was real anger in Bitton’s face, much more so than if it was only a reaction to the cheat diving. I was left wondering if the cheat had said something to him and he reacted (not that he should, of course, as a professional).

Cathac’s brother got his 15 seconds of fame last night, as he was caught on camera using his binoculars. He was delighted and hoped it had been taped.

  19. Christie was my MOTM last night. Playing like that he could still be a great asset to us.

DARBY COYLE lived in WALLACEWELL RD BALORNOCK. He was in charge of training the altar boys for ST CATHERINES LABOURE LAMONT RD BALORNOCK.

He went to live in AMERICA for a while .He was a very good singer. I heard that he was training for THE PRIESTHOOD but he had an argument with CARDINAL EWING and so he withdrew.

He had a younger brother and they taught me and loads of others to serve on the altar.

If anything else comes to me i will post it for you.
