    Very pertinent point.

Hugh Keevins will and should be held to task.

C@ck of a man. Always seeking the negative.

  2. Cheera Ruggyman – Appreciated and wouldn’t be surprised but timing as I said seems odd.

Picked up on TV today that Neil still seems to be waiting by the phone.

  3. Like no other on

Took my youngest to her first Celtic match today. After the horrors of this week’s national 5 Maths exam, I figured she was due a treat and binned the big brothers to give her the ticket. She is now the official Celtic “Child of Prague” and will be wheeled out for every game in the future.

She asked was every game like this. Haven’t the heart to break the bad news… ;))))))

Just seen the sheep got pumped 4-0,reckon they

will be doing well tae keep the hun at bay for

    second best next year.

Hearts will knock the sheep down to third place next season. 4th place at best for the hun.

  5. Big Wavy

I know it’s unlikely, but if Keane gets appointed and Lennon is involved in some way, I.e number 2 then I’d take that.

But Lennon coming back as manager…..I just don’t think it would be the right decision by all concerned.

  6. I’m still hoping for Brendan Rodgers.

    … or Jorge Sampaoli.

He has, apparently, turned down the Espanyol job, but appears to be still in the frame for the Valencia and Lazio gigs.

    We’ll see!

    HH!!

  7. Glendalystonsils

I think McInnes, as much as he is a Hun, is a very very good manager.

Unfortunately for him, when you shag a players wife, the game is up.

Irrespective of what people say, this fundamentally has came back to haunt him

  8. FFS!!!

They’re playing that national anthem dirge in Rome at the tennis presentation!

    HH!!

Fantastic finish to the season, pleased for Ronny and his team. Despite the failings, I have a good feeling that he has made a positive contribution overall. For the first time in a long time I see some young players capable of playing for Celtic. Heads up to all involved there. Pity that, unlike on the Continent, we haven’t been able to keep him at the club. Still, Tommy Burns came back in a different role at Celtic, who is to say Ronny will not do the same.

  10. Excellent performance…

    Excellent result…

All round Champion day. Great send off for Ronny and the bhoys who are going…

Good luck to one and all.

    BIG WAVY @ 5:18 PM,

I agree, there have been many positive things in the last two Seasons. A foundation has been built. I’d like to see more of the same under an experienced, successful Managemen & Coaching team.

    Hail Hail

  11. Paul67 et al

And Andy Murray beating Novac in Rome on his birthday, that is just a bonus.

A bone fide role model for all young sportsmen and women!

    Big Wavy

Yes I think it will most likely be a British/Irish manager.

I would prefer a continental guy who can put in place an infrastructure and identity/playing style. This is probably what Ronny was trying to do, but results in some key games went against him. Hope we don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I posted the other day someone like Phillip Cocu who has spent a lot of time with the youth teams at PSV and has now won two league titles as first-team manager. Give him a decent budget and I think he’d be get-able.

  14. Neustadt-Braw on

Hey Delanys….do you remember scoring for the first touch when you were sweet sixteen???

  15. Jerry Cornelius on

Give me Moyes or give me death. Our priority next season is putting the hun in their place and DM will do that.

    No fancydanners please

  16. cigalasporfavor on

I think we will regret letting Ronny go.He has the demeanour of someone who knows he will eventually get to where he wants to be.Some of his decisions,or lack of them, were infuriating but I believe that with the distractors and non-believers cleared out this summer and Collins replaced by an older head he would have produced the goods.

Not a sympathy vote by any means, just a gut feeling!

  17. I have had no great preference who the next manager will be. Of all the names linked there’s none who I would say we should definitely push the boat out to get him. They all have pros but come with many cons. Today however, watching that young talent we obviously have, Brendan Rodgers would seem to be the most suited to take the current crop forward and develop them. Moyes, Keane, Lennon etc would stifle their development by filling the squad with EPL/Championship rejects.

  18. Jerry Cornelius on

Yeah I know RD gets job with middling Scandinavian club who then pump us in europe

    RUGGYMAN

I take my hat off to Hugh kevins. To make a living out of being a sports journalist when you have journalistic talent is difficult enough to achieve. When you’re talentless in Scotland? Well just be anti Celtic.

  20. Ronny will be better served by his experience with the tic.

He’ll be glad to sever ties with cheese burger eaters.

    HH to the 5IAR champions

It all came right today, playing the olde 4-6-0 (Craig Levein copyright). actually looked like 4-2-4 to me, ha, ha!

Perhaps as the pressure was off, it allowed the players to play and bhoy at times it looked really good!

All the best to Ronnie. Time to move on and build up to 6-7-8 and onwards IAR.

Prayers also to all the CQNers needing them at the moment who are going through tough times . I hope today brought a lot of smiles to their faces, even from a distance.

If RD had played a similar side in the semi final he might still be in a job. Good luck Ronny wherever you end up ( unless you draw us).

The good weather conditions have also been a significant factor with regards to the improvement of the team.

Well done Celtic. Attacking football and goals. The Celtic way.

Big thanks to Ronny good luck for the future. Hope you find a club whose supporters appreciate your efforts better and aren’t as easily taken in by a lamb-eating, guff-spreading scumbag.

*And that was that, a season that started out so promising after a double and possibly a treble which we were cheated out of ended with a scheidty league title.

Cannae believe I just wrote that, a scheidty league title, well to some on here it was, it seems unless we are a success in Europe nothing else matters, the same Europe that other than “punching above our weight” © MON we have not been a force in since 1974.

For some of us on here there were lots of times we would have sold our soul for a Title.

I can recall the 1st time I heard the Celtic Song, it was on the old Home Service and I was getting ready for school. They were discussing how we and the huns had released a record and played a bit of both

When it came to the bit “we’ll be there to give the bhoys a cheers when the League Flag flies”, I thought not in my lifetime, however when oul Barty Dick sung “and it cheers us up when we know the Scottish Cup is coming home to rest in Paradise”, I thought now that’s more like it as my da had always said that Celtic were a cup team.

However, it would be another 4 years before we would see the latter thanks to James Edwards’s final season as manager as well as the Big Mhan’s first. I stood on the slopes of hunden that sunny April day as grown mhen and womhen wept.

54 weeks later the same process occurred as we clinched out 1st title in 12 years. Every one of the 9 was celebrated with the same gusto and I can recall each one of them.

We as a support love tae recall our finest moments which should be fairly evident next May 25.

“10 Men won The League”, we still gush about it, there’s even a book been written, but let’s face it that was a pretty poor hun side managed by their greatest ever thug, I heard 2 oul hauns on holiday over here that summer say it was the worst Celtic team ever tae win the league, but who cares we still won. Big Billy’s 1st of 3 Titles that time round

“Albert Kidd Day”, Davie Hay’s only Title is another fairy tale Celtic moment, we celebrated this again last week with a party at Parkheid, and why not. But let’s not forget that it was the jambos we pipped for the League as the sad sack huns were 15 points adrift of us (2 points for a win back then)

2 years later in the happy birthday Championee win, Billy’s only one on his 2nd occasion in the hot seat and how we partied. A resurgent huns finished 3rd 12 points behind.

When Harald bagged, to use an NA phrase here, the insurance goal on the day we stopped the corrupt 10 was another amazing day at sunny Parkheid.

The Blessed MON’s 3 including 2-in-a-row which Da Doo Ron Ron has now matched will always be special to us.

Then we have WGS not really wanted by the support as he was seen as a wee nyaf and not a Celtic mhan, got off to a horrific start in Bratislava but still had the steel and determination to go one better than MON and emulate the Big Mhan with 3-in-row, the last one on that wonderful Tommy Burns Thursday just weeks after being told tae GTF. He did leave as big a Celtic mhan as most of us on here.

And then there was NFL, brought intae bring some stability tae the club after the disastrous Mogga reign who the fans welcomed as being not in the same vein as WGS, even more so as he was battered from pillar to post, he emulated both WGS and the Big Mhan with another 3-in-a-row.

All these Title wins are etched in the hearts of Celtic mhen and womhen, even the disappointments, when the huns should have been wearing Dick Turpin masks as well as their black mass vestments, we had victory in our grasp but threw it away on Black Sunday and up at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium they still leave a sour taste in our mouths.

So here we are celebrating another Title and yet there are some out there not as ecstatic as they should be, even David Potter who I have a lot of time for said “It has been my privilege to experience 27 of them (championships). And yes, it has to be admitted that this one was not one of the better ones”

Whit??? There is no such thing as a bad Title win, just some are better than others, and some were won with a poor hun side in the same league so all this scheitd about only winning because they were not around is just that, scheidt.

So Ronny’s gone and some will be cheering at this but don’t forget what Joni once said “Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got, till it’s gone”.

And let’s also hope they don’t pave Paradise to put up a parking lot

  26. Neustadt-Braw on

As long as the new manager sets us up to play like we did today!!! Braw fitba should be our signature….

Cheers bud. In a good place tonight. Enjoyed the company of many good tims today.

Anyway the sooner a new manager is appointed the sooner the malcontents can come on with new blog names wanting him out. And you think I’m kidding?

  28. Ray Winstone's Big Disembodied Heid on

Just seen Peeness on BBC News standing outside Old Trafford.

Wonder if the suspect package was his EBT?

  29. theglasgowcelticway on

Police issue a statement: “We are currently studying CCTV to see if we can identify any persons who we believe are not from the Manchester area and would therefore not be attending a football game in this city. At the moment we have 40,000 suspects.” Just kidding before the grief starts.

  30. Champions again. Great to see wee Izzy connecting with the beating heart of the Celtic support.
