  1. From F.A. HQ:

Morning all. Tension is building ahead of The Big Unveiling. Will Woy spring a ‘Govan Galactico’ surprise on us? If so, who will it be? Will a big name miss out and smash up a hotel room? We’ll find out the answers shortly.

    Warbs jetting-in!

  2. Yes it’s a pity we can’t have two left-backs. For the right-back position we have Lustig, Janko, Fisher and Ralston.

I adjusted the results completely. Puts us on 72pts. Aberdeen gain a point because a win for us against them becomes a draw.

It’s just a wee fun exercise, because in reality others would have stepped in and replaced at least some of those ‘missing’ goals.

We’ve scored 2.45 goals per game this season. That’s not bad at all.

  4. Fotball?

So my Brian Glover-like PE teacher was right all those years ago at the school team trials when he said, “Son, ye cannae even spell it, never mind play it!”.

Ffs, don’t be having fun on here, it might catch on, an awe the moaners and malcontents, will get a petition started, then where will we be? :))

    Wee infer,

Cheers I still think he’s been the difference though. It’s not just his goals or assist but his whole attitude to how he went about his business, he has been exemplary.

Part of my looking at it was Mark Wilson, on a day when we scored 7 without him inferring that we’d have struggled were it not for LG.

I doubt that severely. One of the things that happens when you’ve got a player on fire is that his team-mates try and get him on the ball. Which is fair enough but occasionally it means they miss another player in a better position, or alternatively they may just have a pop at goal themselves.

It’s distinctly possible that eg Johansen’s much reduced tally this season was down to him not taking quite so much responsibility for goals and instead looking for a pass to LG. (probably not, but hopefully you get my drift).

That’s true, I think we all got nervous, but the Dons faded just as they did last season. I expect a similar challenge next season, also from Hearts, possibly from Sevco.

  11. Part two of the league Champions celebration starts in The Brazen Head @ 2:30 pm today :)) bring it on. Moaners malcontents and CT socialists level 5 helpers, stay well clear, as there will be laughing, joking, and much merryment going on, so avoid and please don’t take offence.

  12. CANAMALAR IT LOOKS LIKE OCD OBSESSION on 16TH MAY 2016 10:52 AM

Absolutely agree. It’s been great to see him and KT actually fighting for a win and understanding the commitment the fans want to see.

On a different note I read RD’s thoughts on how much more pressure he ended up under than I think even he anticipated and his thoughts on what he might have done in hindsight. I’m not normally an advocate of people coming back but see in a few years time, when he’ll perhaps be a bit stronger of mind, I wouldn’t be averse to seeing him again. I think ultimately the pressure not to lose got too much. He reverted to ‘safe’ football, rather than what he said he’d bring. If he’d just had the confidence to follow that through, we may well have done better overall. Who knows?

  13. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Weeminger,

I’ve never had a problem with people returning, in many cases I’d say preferable, Lessons learned and honed elsewhere would be a big advantage.

  14. thetimreaper on

Yesterday I posted that Ronny could return one day, it’s not out of the question. If things go well for him elsewhere, the door is open to the possibility. I agree that he ended up playing it safe, he overrelied on some players who were unfit or out of form. The message from within the club would have been clear from mid season, win the League at all cost.

  15. Joe Filippis Haircut on

We must in my opinion get big Tam Rogic on a new contract the bhoy is just going to get better and better lets hope that it is at Celtic. H.H.

He was offered the Arsenal job. The current Arsenal Cheif Exec now earns more than double PL’s wage

Sorry about the delay in reply but, had to take an important phone-call there.

So, yes I remember reading about the Arsenal job for Lawwell.

But, I would ‘guess’ that Lawwell is making almost double what is declared in his transfer dealingss with the agent dooo-da-dae or, whatever his name is.

Point is, a failing rout of recruitment is religiously pursued by Lawwell, probably Park involved as well in the bringing in of, trialists, projects and players who never see the 1st team and yet, this rout of player recruitment is followed ?!?!? Hmmmmmm ?????

Now, I’m not naive enough to think that, Lawwell is a snowman, or Park for that matter either.

So, this recruitment rout is obviously suiting somebody or, somebodies ?

Who is he or, they ?

    A nice little earner ?

I cannot prove this, hopefully someone can disprove it.

Delighted for Ronny and for all who turned up yesterday. I suspect Ronny will carve out a very decent career.

I know all opinions are welcome but last week I got into a bunfight on one poster here who described big Tam Rogic as a shitebag and a coward.

Feeling fairly vindicated today (not that is important in itself) as I thought he was outstanding and his pass to Christie was first class.

Him and Roberts as attacking middys a must for me next season.

James Forrest and Mulgrew to WBA makes sense to me

Pulis likes to shop in the bargain bin. When the huns died in 2012, Pulis signed Jamie Ness & Maurice Edu.

Yep, spot on that the target man needs fed with ball…why not have two target men and double the pressure! HH

  25. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Yesterday was weird in one respect.

I’d watched Celtic struggle to get numbers forward, well forward in space to utilise, all season.

We’d debated about the one forward situation all season on CQN.

So what was different yesterday : confidence, personnel ( ie more suited) opposition ?

If you watch the goals we often had 3, 4, or more players bursting forward, available to receive the ball in the areas Celtic have scored from this season.

    ____

Kev, your are a good Celtic man and I respect your point of view but you need to be careful. You shouldn’t suggest or even imply that PL is somehow getting a kickback on the deals with the Israeli agent without some evidence.

Why have we used this agent so often?

In my business I’m used to working with land agents and you learn who you can do a deal with and who you can’t. Some will sabotage negotiations just to ramp up their fees and some are honest.

Celtic have probably attempted to get deals done with other agents but can’t get it done. Clearly this is a guy who understands how Celtic work.

Really it comes down to scouting and coaching. I don’t think either have been good enough in the last 3 years.
