  1. Re 4th official…

    a) He had a score on both teams not to score.

    b) A cheating hun.

    c) Both.

  2. Despite their best efforts , all their mibbery was to be in vain. Well done Brendan and The Bhoys.

  3. As for yesterday, last few days in fact, outstanding from Brendan. Dealt with the Moussa situation superbly and focused the squad to perform well yesterday. Hysteria has been lifted for now. Hope the talks with PL and DD were productive last night as serious investment needed over next 12 months. Squad looks a little light on quality, Brendan will be up for the challenge but could do with senior players staying fit through to January. As I posted on Saturday, BR has dug the Board out of a hole, for now.

  4. That Goldson fella, player of the season elect, future of the English national teams defemce, that guy – turns out he’s not that good. If you get a chance to watch the game again, keep an eye on him. He struggled quite badly. And from set pieces their defence is all over the place.

Really glad Stevie the slabber will have two weeks to work with these guys – he’s done such a great job so far

    Solid professional team performance yesterday.

Still work to do on finishing teams off and closing them out.

Looking forward to seeing the new bhoys settle in.

    Onto 8 ?

  6. Was looking forward to seeing my boss this morning as he’s a BIG hun. Just got a message that he’s taking today off. “Something’s come up” apparently….

    :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Good morning to all celts everywhere.

Connor Goldson – a big thank you from the Celtic fans and from our manager.

Brendan has a very busy schedule and so many things to address so every little helps.

Thanks to your big mouth, his team talk for our next meeting has been taken care of.

  8. So the big story this morning is the foul/non-foul on Ryan Jack, and how the Whiney Scouser heard Beaton shouting “foul, foul” into his mike to the referee. Above the noise of 60,000 people urging their team forward on the break. In all the tv pictures I’ve seen of the touchline view, Beaton and Gerrard are never in the same picture, yet Gerrard clearly heard the 4th official, despite the fact that he himself was clearly screaming at the official at the same time.

I think Gerrard is lying. He has previous for not telling the truth.

And on another issue from yesterday. After seeing the reaction of the hun scum who were allowed into our stadium to our players celebrating after the game finished, we must remove any allocation of tickets for them in future. It would have only taken one of the bigots to vault the barriers and the rest would have followed. Celtic fans would have reacted. No doubt about it?

When our own players can’t celebrate a win at our own ground without the bery real threat of public disorder from visiting fans, then it’s time to remove those fans from the equation, not ban the celebrations of the players.

And our Club should refuse tickets for their hovel. Our fans will not be safe there.

MurdochAuldandHay – thanks for posting twitter link.

Respect to the author – Sir Edward.

Despite his understandable fury, the thread of tweets is factual, measured and responsible.

    Brilliant stuff.

I’ve always tried to give the benefit of the doubt to the club’s liaison function particularly in respect of policing.

However I think in this instance they have erred with their statement. IMHO, it was rushed and has a cut and paste feel.

Professional well run organisations with the right leadership culture get things done and done well.

I believe Celtic to be such an org.

    Police Scotland ???? Hhmm

    BACKTOBASICS

Alternatively,as I believe to be the case, the police discuss and plan for occasions like yesterday in conjunction with Celtic.

Which means that Celtic’s stadium security officer was aware of,and had agreed to,what went ahead.

It wasn’t the police who didn’t unlock that gate yesterday. They don’t have the keys.

  11. morning bhoys from a wet Cheshire, bit of a hangover but it was worth it, get back in your box sevco. might have a fry up to cure the pld hangover, like david66 no work today. so will watch the game again.hh.

    A healthy fry-up? Hell,no.

You should get yourself over to Belfast, have a Harlem special. £7.50,best breakfast ever.

It should be in their tourist brochures!

    Seriously,enjoy it,bud,both of you.

  15. bmcuw.enjoy your fry up.lol. bobby still tring to get on the site, sent 2 messages last night managed to get on ,but the messages disappeared will keep trying.hh.

  16. The most dangerous form of Sevco would be one that is aware of it’s own limitations, acknowledges how much work they need to do to narrow the gap and keeps their head down to get on with improving. Thankfully, by the sound of the post-match reaction from them, that Sevco has still not arrived.

Instead of bemoaning a decision that wasn’t given 80 yards from your goal, acknowledge the fact that your “much improved defence” can’t pass, that Kent, Ejaria and Arfield were empty jerseys, and that the biggest threat to Celtic that you have in your team (Lafferty) was shackled by his own manager’s punt-the-ball-up-to-the-big-man tactics (technical term). If they do identify these glaring weaknesses we might have something to worry about. As it is, they claim they thought they were in the match until the end…with their whopping 2 attempts on target…

Christian Wulff of 90 Minute Cynic had raised the point more than once over the last few weeks that Sevco’s run of results was unsustainable based on the fact that they had created remarkably few scoring opportunities but had conceded an alarming number of attempts on their own goal. And so it came to pass; Celtic 16 attempts on goal, Sevco with 6, and the true scale of their improvement was laid bare.

Celtic played very well but could have played better in certain areas, such as finishing. Brendan Rodgers acknowledged that and stated that he expects his team to be better and improve as the season progresses. Sevco think all they need is more time together and to not have to travel to Russia. That’s why we will stay ahead.

  17. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

BMCUW – Yip and that is my worry – when Celtic try to meet orgs like Police Scotland and Glasgow City Council ‘half way’. We are dragged down to their level.

I sincerely hope there is a written record which shows Celtic objected to this measure but were compelled to do so as a condition of running the event.

  18. I said it yesterday and I’ll say it again today.

Peter Lawell, in his ongoing maneuvering to make newco competitive, lowered the crossbars.

    Fact.

Aye,the site owner is perplexed. I got admin access from him and tried to work through it. Had it unblocked for,oh,about ten minutes.

    Magic.

Obviously it will be sorted soon enough but he’s not best pleased.

  20. I really do fear for the unfortunate 800 Celtic fans who will be allocated a ticket for the match at Ibrox in December. I would urge the club not to accept any tickets.

  21. ” TIMBHOY2 on 3RD SEPTEMBER 2018 8:10 AM

Brendan Rodgers needs to bring in another loan Striker, can’t realy go with 2,till January, unless you use young Christie,as the third 1,”

As we aminly play with one up front, I am not sure that we need three. Even if i could be convinced that we did, what level of player would we get for third choice? Better than Christie?

    I doubt it.

I have seen some posts on here of late among which yours would have looked more credible :-)

Rest day in La Vuelta so you`ll have the roads to yourself today.

A tad damp in Arbroath so I am envious of you today.

Inform JP Taylor ( Liaison Officer) of your concerns. I am sure many Celtic fans agree with you.

As things stand, THEY will become more and more convinced that they were cheated out of a victory yesterday. A comfortable Celtic victory at Ibrox, which is a distinct possibility, would be too much for some of them.

  23. Hot Smoked – I’m heading out shortly to do a couple of hours. September is glorious, summer heat starts to drop and the tourists return home leaving the roads and beaches quiet again.

  24. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Even better than yesterdays win is to hear the Rangers players making excuses and saying Celtic are not that good and what they will do to us the next time we meet. They are providing everyone a Celtic park with motivation for the next game yesterday we won 1-0 going on four or five with a wee bit of luck.As for Gerrard he is well suited to being the rangers manager he has no class what so ever.H.H.

  25. Headline in paper by Ronnie Esplin PA Sport;

Gerrard slams ref as Rodgers gets one over on ex-captain.

Just about sums up his level of journalism.
