  1. SETTING FREE THE BEARS

We can debate the true meaning of ‘disaster’ but a six point swing at home in favor of our most detested rival, giving them oxygen for the second half of the season, and having learned little from the last meeting, is getting up there in my book.

And yes, I agree with you – it will not be the last one we lose.

  2. Jullien was poor. For a 6ft 5 guy, he was not dominant and got bullied by

wee hard men. He is just not up to it for the SPFL fight; so far.

Also, has problems getting the ball out from under his feet.

  3. Agree a lot of comments James Forrest has played against them about 20 times

Waste of space in about 17

Yes a am a massive critic of Forrest

His invisible tactics hurts out striker and midfield. We are away to Kilmarnock and st Johnstone soon

No more Forrest or Johnstone starts

    Not good enough

    An Dun

I’m with you on Jullien. Thought he was one of our passes today, along with Broony and Frimpong.

Christie, Forrest and Johnson were all poor.

Bolingoli nothing short of red rotten.

‘where is their money coming from.. SFA?

Agree it wouldn’t be allowed to go unchecked anywhere else but the the SFA are the very ones wanting a strong Rangers* (copyright SFA McRae)

They wouldn’t care if it came from sex trafficking or crystal meth production , as long as Celtic are stopped . The only favours we will get will be from ourselves , that’s why all of the CP staff from the CEO down need to have a look at themselves.

  6. just imagine we (Celtic) hadn’t won at Ibrox in 10 years …

The Sevs are enjoying today we have had plenty of days like this … sometimes the Celtic players get accused of complacency ? Maybe the fans should ask themselves the same question

Only thing one so far this season is the League Cup, Neil has secured a seeding in the Europa league last 32 …

And last but not least SydneyTim your “stuff” about James Forrest would maybe carry some weight if you ever ventured into the blog when the wee man is winning us games which he has done for a long long time … in our company today I had to listen to two Celtic fans arguing about James F on the left or right … thankfully even both realised James was gash today but also realise how good he actually is for us

This time last year going into the January break we were level and not 2pts clear ….

Sometimes you need to experience a wee low now and again so that you can appreciate all of our highs 🍀

    Neil Lennon CSC 👍

  7. Ach well at least the TIFO was outstanding.

    Very clever indeed.

A pity the players failed to deliver and banish the hun devil.

    Corkie/Ron.

Julian for me, is settling in fine.

I worry more about Kris, I don’t see a natural defender, I see a good player but not a natural centre back.

  8. GFTB. James Forrest taken off twenty times this year. Yes twenty times

Was in Paisley watching game on Boxing Day

Scored a good goal. But the other 69 mins he was on he was Rubbish

  9. Ulysses McGhee

“We’ve struggled against them – to say otherwise is denial mate. ”

Just as well I never said that then.

I’ve seen us dominate them and be abject against them and all the shades in between.

Mikey has turned 20 and is an impressive emerging talent. If we were to NOT play him because he has not performed against them before (I’d discount his mis-selection as Centre Forward) then we would not have played Jeremie Frimpong either, who was a relative success.

Very few people have a balanced estimation of Jamesie. He plays 2 types of game for some of our fans ( aye! he was just ok, or God! he was complete rubbish). The truth is he has had many good games against them- (would you drop a player who had a goal and an assist in the March 2019 fixture?) but he is not a hunskelper like Thompson, Sutton or Dembele- guys who actually liked and flourished in that fixture. They are few and far between in our history.

James is played because there is no reliable alternative to him i.e. he has seen off all challengers. He could do with a threat but Elyanoussi, Sinclair and Johnston all favour the left side. Frimpong has never been tried there and should play some reserve games there before being asked to do it in our first team. Karamoko is just not ready yet but deserves a few games against bottom 6 teams to keep him encouraged and something has gone wrong with Shved at training- who knows what? Maybe a fit Arzani will do it but we’ve been waiting a while for a Paddy Roberts like challenge to James’s position.

Amyway- january after Dubai- is a different proposition and the tiredness effect should not count again till we reach March/April

  10. Taylor simply must get a run after we come back.

Frimpong on the right side with el hamed behind him may be worth a try.

El hamed is made of cheese though so I’m not expecting a run of 15 games from him.

  11. Glendaly. Yes. A natural left back unlike boil Boli who is a shit left back

Ron mate 100% agree. Outnumbered in midfield put pressure on Julian

  12. glendalystonsils on

Julien was ok today . Ajer did a lot right but did one vital thing wrong in not attacking the ball the way Katic did for their second.

  13. I see Rod on Twitter congratulating the Hun or as he says, Rangers F.C.

Seriously get his version of Grace out our club.

He takes a knighthood from The Empire but think it’s ok to sign a rebel song, all about the money for Rod.

  14. We were level on points last this time last year with a game in hand. This year we are 2 ahead and have played a game more. We are 3 points worse off nett. Reminder that they lost their first game after the winter break, at Killie, the venue of our next League game.

  15. lets all do the huddle on

and his version of grace is shite as well

not in the top 5 of all the folk ive heard sing that over the years

  16. Theoriginalsadiesbhoy

From the upper jock stein section, it looked like a rangers sub who went round to pass a message to MacGregor.

Straight away he went down with an injury. All the rangers players then went over to the sideline and got instructions from the coaching staff. It looked preplanned.

Thought it was a different person ,one of the coaches who was then sent to the stand at the end but couldn’t be too sure due to distance.

  17. As I always say. Transfer window open

50m to spend. Left midfielder. Right midfielder and striker

    Back to two up front

Sign players who are 1st eleven

Peter lawell should have been sacked for CL shambles

    Pressure on him now

Ten in a row is not to be played with

  18. ST 6.02pm

Yes, James has been subbed a lot, but he starts a lot of games and is a very important part of Neil’s plans, I don’t think if you are in Paisley, Sydney or the Lisbon Lions stand you don’t rate James and you are “invisible” when the man does step up … and he does step up many many times in his long and glittering Celtic career … and I have a feeling our Jamesy might even add to the multitude of medals he has already accrued wearing the colours of our team :-)

“JF was. Injured with hamstring or 2nd fiddle to PR 1st 5 in a row”

I already gave the Paddy Roberts stats. Paddy was First fiddle in only one of the 3 seasons he competed for us (32 league appearances to JF’s 28 that season). In his other 2, JF saw him off.

    JF’s league appearances in our 8iar are 29, 15, 16, 19, 19, 28, 35 and 33.

Most of his non-selections were down to nursing hamstring problems, which he has since managed to minimise. I agree he needs competition but he has had a major contribution to our 8 and, hoepfull to our 9iar. Only Broonie surpasses his record and only Calmac rivals it.

    Them’s the facts!

I’m off to watch some NFL

I expect there will be a lot of worried people in the Celtic Boadroom tonight ..

Both in our Champions League Qualifier against Cluj, and again in today’s game which was a major six pointer game, our tactics and game management were very poor ..

It will be very interesting to see what the board do in January, and how much they back Lenny.

It would be a catastrophic disaster to lose the League this season, and would probably result in a loss of 15,000 – 20,000 Season Tickets next season, such would be the anger and frustration of many fans .. I wonder what our majority shareholder is thinking tonight !!

  21. IniquitousIV – good post, agree with it.

BTW, I don’t see anything wrong in Gerard going nuts at the final whistle, guy just saw his team pump their biggest rivals and save their season and his fledgling career. We rightly defended Lenny when he was doing aeroplanes and cupping his ears. That was the biggest result so far of his mngrl career, cut him some slack. you might not like him but he is entitled to celebrate.

We thought he would be another disaster for them. A rookie with no coaching badges and no experience of managing senior players. But he and GM have taken a bunch of misfits and journeymen and gelled them into a decent team, improved players who were mostly unwanted freebies and overtaken us as the form team.

Our players are in a slump, look tired and off the pace. Huge challenge now to get them back to the kind of form they were in during Sept and Oct.

Not confident at all. They could quite feasibly win the double if they keep playing like that.

Lennon made the same mistake today as he did in May 2011 on a Wednesday night up at Inverness. 2 central midfielders and 2 wingers, while the opposition flooded the middle of the park. He took his frustrations out on a couple of water bottles last night and that game as good as lost us the league….

People keep mentioning not learning after the LCF, but this is a manager who cannot recognise a battle when he sees one.

    The definition of insanity….

  23. Springhill Bhoy on

Kennedy was the defensive coach under Rodgers, most top clubs have a defensive coach, who is Celtics.

  24. Some couple of our players had to play OK or else we would have been humped. We lost by a goal, we missed a penalty had 2 cleared off the line and I can’t remember Forster making any superb save to keep the score down,

Some on here are giving no pass marks to any player.

For me Brooney, Julien & Ajer were our better players, Frimpong did try his utmost but generally we did lose our one to one battles.

Anyway it is what it is.

I’m looking forward to a break from football & a resurgent Celtic after the break.

  25. If you offered me a two point deficit going into the last league game against them at Celtic park after the split, I would take it. That’s how close this race will be, there’s no doubt anymore.

We had our chance to end this race today but now it’ll go all the way to the wire.

With that in mind, Julien, Edouard, Christie, CalMac and Brown should not be playing Europa football next year. Rest them. A Europa semi final will mean nothing if we lose the league.

  26. Welcome home

Good to see a few old posters back

I just thought the adverts & lost passwords were the reason… all this time P67 just needed the Huns to win their first game since 2010 at Celtic Park …

Looking forward to all your contributions in the quest of 9 and the quadrupole treble :-)

    It’s still on

  27. I would like to think that, with the eighteen players in today’s squad, we could have picked a better balanced team. Would still have had to perform better individually and as a team mind you. Lenny used to be a midfielder, you would think he might value what contribution Oliver might bring to a game like todays. But you would be wrong.

  28. We were pish.

I could pick a Garngad 11 down the coup that would beat that Celtic team. No spirit. No heart. No fight.

    Pish
